NCT00106574
This 2 arm study will compare the safety and efficacy, with regard to reduction of signs and symptoms, of tocilizumab versus placebo in combination with traditional Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug (DMARD) therapy in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have had an inadequate response to current DMARD therapy. Patients will be randomized to receive tocilizumab 8mg/kg iv or placebo iv every 4 weeks, in conjunction with stable DMARD therapy. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
NCT00891618
The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if giving acupuncture to patients with lymphoma or a plasma cell dyscrasia can help to relieve numbness and/or tingling of the feet and/or hands that is related to chemotherapy.
NCT02490202
Safety and efficacy study of SANGUINATE on reduction of delayed graft function (DGF) in patients who will be recipients of a donation after brain death (DBD) donor kidney.
NCT02353182
Animal studies suggest general anaesthetics harm the developing brain. It is unclear if these findings are relevant to humans but the issue has become a major concern. Recent data have found that monkeys exposed to anaesthesia as infants grow up to have slower learning than those not exposed. The aim of the TREX pilot study is to determine the feasibility of an alternative anaesthetic regimen for lower abdominal/lower extremity surgery in infants 1-12 months of age.
NCT00399568
This study will be investigating the efficacy and safety administration of multiple doses of intravenous (IV) acetaminophen (IVAPAP) in the 48 hour period following Gynecologic Surgery.
NCT02281136
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential for systemic exposure of aminolevulinic acid (ALA) when applied topically under occlusion, in a maximal use setting in patients with multiple actinic keratoses (AK) involving the upper extremities.
NCT00109408
This 2 arm study will assess the safety and efficacy of tocilizumab monotherapy versus methotrexate in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Patients will be randomized to receive tocilizumab 8mg/kg iv every 4 weeks plus placebo po weekly, or methotrexate 7.5-20mg po weekly plus placebo iv every 4 weeks. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
NCT00148642
The purpose of this study is to determine if the use of a silver-coated endotracheal tube (ETT) can reduce the incidence and/or delay the time of onset of VAP when compared to a non silver-coated ETT in patients who have been mechanically ventilated for \>= 24 hours.
NCT00760565
This single center, multiple ascending dose study will assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of RO4905417 at different doses in healthy volunteers and patients with peripheral arterial disease. Three groups of 10 healthy volunteers will receive RO4905417 (either 3mg/kg, 7mg/kg or 20mg/kg) or placebo iv every 28 days for a total of 3 infusions. In addition, two groups of 6 PAD patients will receive RO4905417 (either 3mg/kg, 7mg/kg) or placebo and 1 group of 20 PAD patients will receive 20mg/kg RO4905417 or placebo iv every 28 days for a total of three infusions. The study will have an adaptive design with ongoing assessment of safety and tolerability prior to initiation of the next dose. All subjects will receive 3 doses of RO4905417 or matching placebo at 28 day intervals. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is \<100 individuals.
NCT01484652
The primary objective of this study is to show the effectiveness of repeated doses of COV795 versus placebo, using the summed pain intensity difference over the first 48 hours in subjects with acute moderate to severe pain following bunionectomy.
NCT00095173
The primary purpose of the clinical research study is to assess the safety of treating children and juvenile subjects with BMS-188667 (Abatacept). In addition, the study will assess the effectiveness of BMS-188667 in reducing disease activity of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) or Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) as measured by the time to occurrence of disease flare.
NCT01245634
