NCT02613104
Previous research suggests that people with bipolar disorder have trouble accurately identifying emotions. The goal of this study is to test a novel intervention, emotion recognition modification (ERM), to help improve the ability of young people with bipolar disorder to identify emotions.
NCT02037581
Improvement of clinical long-term outcome through the implementation of early detection and intervention within a specialized network of integrated care (ACT and hometreatment) for adolescents and young adults with a first episode of psychosis between 12 and 29 years.
NCT01888627
The study examine the effectiveness of an integrated care program including therapeutic assertive community treatment (ACT) for people with psychotic disorders fulfilling severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI, ACCESS-II study).
NCT03633357
The main aim of this research is to examine the potential of 5HT7 antagonists for the treatment of cognitive impairment in bipolar disorder by determining the effect of the 5HT7 antagonist JNJ-18038683 on cognitive and emotional processing related brain activity in cognitively impaired people with bipolar disorder and healthy participants using functional MRI (fMRI). This study is designed to contribute to the rational validation of 5HT7 antagonists as a treatment for cognitive impairment in bipolar disorder and to support the development of clinical trials and further drug development in this area. The study will also examine the effect of 5HT7 antagonism on brain function in healthy participants as this has never been investigated before, and to use as a comparator to determine whether 5HT7 antagonism effects disease specific impairments in task related brain activity and cerebral blood flow.
NCT04068467
This study is a waitlist control trial evaluating the acceptability and preliminary efficacy of a smartphone application with people with mental illness.
NCT03730064
We are trying to understand what causes bipolar disorder and how medications treat bipolar depression. Particularly, we are looking at the importance of inflammation in the process. If you participate, you will have two different brain scans (MRI and PET scan). You will also have an experimental treatment for your depression named N-acetyl cysteine (NAC). The study is funded by the Columbia University Irving Institute to improve the treatment of bipolar disorder. Please contact us if you are interested in participating. Up to $600 in compensation if you are eligible and choose to participate. Up to 6 months of treatment for depression at no cost to you.
NCT01976975
This study aims to investigate reward learning across the mood disorder spectrum and to investigate the predictive validity of reward learning for subsequent symptom severity.
NCT02075047
The purpose of this study is to determine if ziprasidone is safe and effective for the treatment of children and adolescents (ages 10-17) with bipolar I disorder (manic or mixed).
NCT04923204
Evaluation of the impact of the genetic variation of individual genes on the therapeutic response and side effects profile in a cohort of well-characterized patients with bipolar depression, using NEUROPHARMAGEN.
NCT04846010
Post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause multiple system function disorders, and complicated symptoms last for an extended period. The virus can cause this continued infection, or the virus causes immune system function disorder and post-infectious autoimmune disease. The clinical symptoms can be smell loss, taste loss to liver function disorder, kidney function failure, different. No matter how complicated the systems showed in the clinic, all of the symptoms are due to the specific cells being damaged. Our clinical study is focused on recovering the damaged structure and function of the cells that could restore the organ function back to normal or close to normal
NCT03918954
Sensory room is a new method in psychiatric inpatient care for management of anxiety. Since this method for anxiety management is being implemented more and more extensively within the psychiatric care system it is important to study its effect and whether there is any difference between physical and virtual sensory. In this study, the effect on mental well-being, pulse and blood pressure will be compared before and after each use of a virtual or physically sensory room. How the different methods affect the total care time, use of anxiety medication and results from self-assessment scales to measure depression and anxiety symptoms will also be looked at. The study will be conducted on two separate wards which primarily care for patients with the primary diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
NCT02423499
The objective of this study is to identify the specific characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in emotional response profiles and shared with Bipolar Disorder (BD) characteristics.
NCT01948024
This is a Multiple-dose, steady state, three-way reference-replicated crossover study. The purpose of this Study is to determine the bio-equivalence between SAPHRIS and Asenapine 10mg sublingual tablets.
NCT00280566
The purpose of this study is to determine if ziprasidone plus a mood stabilizer will continue to be a safe and effective treatment regimen for adults with Bipolar I Disorder (manic or mixed symptoms) after they have achieved 8 consecutive weeks of symptom improvement on the regimen.
NCT00141271
This is a 6-week trial that evaluates the efficacy and safety of Geodon (ziprasidone) in outpatient subjects ages 18 and older with Bipolar Disorder type I, depressed. Subjects are required to undergo a washout period of at least 7 days of any prior med.
NCT00265330
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of ziprasidone during long-term open-label administration in children and adolescents (ages 10-17) with bipolar I disorder (manic or mixed)
NCT00055575
This study looks at the role of a specific brain chemical system in the mood and attention symptoms seen in major depression and bipolar disorders using functional brain imaging.
NCT00483548
The purpose of this study is to determine if a treatment regimen of ziprasidone plus a mood stabilizer is safe and effective in the short term treatment of Bipolar I Depression. Ziprasidone will be added to lithium, valproate or lamotrigine after the patient has been on a therapeutic dose of one of these mood stabilizers for at least 4 weeks.
NCT03922425
A single-blinded hybrid effectiveness-implementation trial (Type II), that both evaluates the intervention outcomes (clinical and service use outcomes) through patient-randomization in the implementation sites, as well as evaluates the implementation strategy chosen for the intervention and its impact on implementation outcomes (e.g. adoption, fidelity, acceptability and maintenance (continued implementation) of the intervention).
NCT01053429
This is a regulatory-required non-interventional pharmacovigilance study exploring the safety profile of ziprasidone HCL monohydrate 20mg, 40mg, 60mg, 80mg in the real world patient population, thus, safety (and/or efficacy) signals will be checked at every visit during the contracted study period until the maximum study end date, per the protocol, of April 2010.
