NCT05208268
The purpose of this study is to understand the following safety related particulars associated with the use of Pariet Tablet 5 milligram (mg) to prevent gastric and duodenal ulcer from low dose aspirin administration of 100 mg or less daily in participants with a history of gastric and duodenal ulcer: 1. Serious adverse events (SAEs) and adverse drug reactions (ADRs) 2. Unexpected adverse events (AEs) and ADRs not reflected in the precautions for use 3. Known ADRs 4. Non-serious ADRs 5. Other safety and efficacy related information.
NCT02032030
Based on limited published epidemiological data, up to an alarming 1 in 50 surgical inpatients die within 30 postoperative days. Based on our own data from the B-Unaware (NCT00281489) and BAG-RECALL (NCT00682825) clinical trials, 30-day postoperative mortality among high-risk surgical patients is comparable to this at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and 1-year mortality among high-risk surgical patients may be as high as 10%. Short- and intermediate-term postoperative mortality is therefore a pressing public health concern. Similarly, postoperative major morbidity - including delirium, stroke, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, blood clots, renal dysfunction, wound infection, pneumonia, respiratory failure, loss of functionality, and chronic pain - occurs commonly and affects a substantial proportion of surgical patients, critically ill patients and patients undergoing procedures for chronic pain. Many factors associate strongly and independently with postoperative mortality and major morbidity: patient age, functional status, comorbid medical conditions, and duration and invasiveness of surgery, among others. It is a strategic priority to identify pre- and intraoperative risk factors that are subject to modification.
NCT03060733
The primary objective is to obtain stool samples from post-therapy subjects already undergoing evaluation for an H. pylori infection by upper esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and gastric biopsy.
NCT00125736
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of combination use of E0671 and Rabeprazole Sodium in patients with gastric ulcer.
NCT01376414
This pilot study aims to estimate the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) colonization in patients presenting with non-specific abdominal pain (NSAP) in an urban academic emergency department (ED) located in Washington, DC.
NCT00543868
This study will determine how if MK0782 is safe and tolerable and to determine how often and the severity of stomach and small intestine ulcers develop following administration of MK0782 plus enteric coated aspirin, rofecoxib 25mg plus enteric coated aspirin, naproxen 500 mg puls enteric coated asprin vs placebo. This is an early phase trial and some specific protocol information is in progress and not publicly available at this time. (Full information is available to trial participants).
NCT00272467
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ulcer healing efficacy of rebamipide in comparison with omeprazole in Helicobacter pylori-positive gastric ulcer after eradication therapy.
NCT00239551
The purpose of this study is to measure the prostaglandin levels in patients with stress ulcer and the effect of Prevacid on prostaglandin levels in patients with stress ulcer.
NCT00284908
S-Tenatoprazole-Na (STU-Na), a new drug currently under clinical development, belongs to a class of drugs, called proton pump inhibitors (PPls). Some PPIs are already commercially available. STU-Na will be used for treatment of acid related diseases (gastroduodenal ulcers, erosive or ulcerative esophagitis due to gastroesophageal reflux disease). This study evaluates the degree of acid suppression by different doses of STU-Na. The degree of acid suppression is considered to be correlated with clinical efficacy. In this study four dosages of STU-Na (30 mg, 60 mg, 90 mg, and 120 mg) will be tested in each volunteer. First, one of the dosages will be orally administered for five days. Then, a nine to sixteen day period without study drug administration will follow prior to the administration of the next dosage, for again five days. Each volunteer will have a total of four study drug administration periods. After the last study drug intake in period 1, 2 and 3 pharmacokinetic blood sampling will be done for four days. After the last study drug intake in period 4 pharmacokinetic blood sampling will be done for five days. Pharmacokinetic blood sampling consists of several blood draws over a pre-determined time period. The pharmacokinetic blood sampling measures the medication concentration in the blood at pre-defined time points. After the last study drug intake in period 1, 2, 3, and 4, gastric acidity will be measured for 24 hours by means of a thin tube that will be inserted into the stomach through the nostril to evaluate the efficacy of the different dosages of STU-Na.
