NCT07617428
This observational study aims to evaluate the practicality of a novel multifunctional intraoperative blood loss monitoring system in real-world surgical settings. The primary questions it seeks to address are: Using the direct measurement method as the reference standard, what is the magnitude of measurement error of the monitoring system, and does it tend to overestimate or underestimate blood loss? Does the monitoring system demonstrate superior accuracy compared with visual estimation, the gravimetric method, and the hemoglobin concentration-based method? During surgery, intraoperative blood loss will be measured simultaneously using five approaches: the novel multifunctional monitoring system, the direct measurement method, visual estimation, the gravimetric method, and the hemoglobin concentration method. These measurements will be conducted without interfering with the surgical procedure.
NCT06450834
In spine surgery, it is important to try to minimize bleeding. In particular, spine surgery often involves inserting hardware into bone, and/or removing bone in the spine. Because the bone in the spine contains blood vessels, there can often be bleeding from the bone itself that is difficult to stop completely. One way to stop bone bleeding is through the use of wax-like materials, which plug the bleeding bone and act as a physical barrier to stop bleeding. One example is Ostene bone hemostasis material, which has the advantage of being "water soluble", meaning it will dissolve naturally over time. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well Ostene does at decreasing bleeding, by using a recognized scale called the validated intraoperative bleeding severity scale, abbreviated as "VIBe". In this study, the investigators will record the bleeding severity throughout multiple time points in surgery using this scale, and then the investigators will compare the measurements to patients in the past who did not receive Ostene. Overall, this research will help measure how well Ostene decreases bleeding.
NCT06889155
Participants were randomized using computer-generated random numbers into 2 groups. Group I included 32 women who received oxytocin infusion before placental delivery just after cord clamping and group II included 32 women who received oxytocin infusion after placental delivery. In both groups 10 IU of oxytocin (Syntocinon, Novartis, Basel, Switzerland) were diluted in 500 mL of normal saline and administered through intravenous infusion over 30 minutes.
NCT05258487
This is a single-center, prospective, observational study that will compare the blood transfusion rate between intraoperative bleeding severity characterized using the Validated Intraoperative Bleeding Scale (VIBe).
NCT04697498
Improving the anesthesiology management for surgical correction of spinal deformations with introducing the diagnostic methods and treatment strategy of acute pain, preventing the evolution of chronic pain. Development and implementation in clinical practice perioperative intensive care protocols for surgical correction of spinal deformities.
NCT05862428
Comparing of the intraoperative blood loss between group rectal misoprostol group and control group
NCT01634828
The purpose of this study is to develop a mathematical algorithm which the investigators plan to use to more accurately estimate intraoperative blood loss.
NCT01864980
Certain types of surgery are associated with occult blood loss, which is hard to detect intraoperatively by intermittent conventional, invasive Hb concentration measurements using the clinical standard of Hb monitoring by satellite laboratory analysis (Hbsatlab). The investigators want to see whether continuous non-invasive transcutaneous Hb measurement using a finger sensor (SpHb), (a) reduces the total time (area under the curve, AUC) a patient's Hb is below a predetermined transfusion threshold (HbAUC) for administration of red blood cell concentrate (RBC), and (b) prevents a decrease in total oxygen delivery (DO2) possibly associated with transfusion below a critical haemoglobin concentration. Furthermore, the investigators want to study if SpHb monitoring changes the timing of RBC administration and reduces the need for intra- and post-operative RBC transfusion.
NCT01708642
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of intraoperative administration of low-dose adrenaline on intraoperative blood loss in patients undergoing hip surgery.
