NCT01260701
This phase II clinical trial studies how well Akt inhibitor MK2206 works in treating patients with advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer. Akt inhibitor MK2206 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
NCT00565604
This trial is designed as a prospective, non randomized, single center clinical trial to determine the safety and efficacy of laser ablation of incompetent perforator veins. Within this clinical evaluation, fifty (50) limbs will be treated with Vari-Lase ®. A duplex ultrasound will verify the presence or absence of incompetent perforator veins (IPV). In addition, the number, diameter and location of the IPVs will be determined. Limbs with IPVs which measure greater than or equal to 3mm in diameter and are located superior to the foot and distal ankle will be considered for entry into the study.
NCT01816295
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate if testosterone solution can raise testosterone hormone levels into the normal range, and also improve levels of sexual arousal, interest and drive and/or energy level, in men with low testosterone and decreased sexual arousal, interest and drive and/or decreased energy. The study will last about 16 weeks, followed by an optional 24 week open label treatment phase to investigate the long term safety of testosterone solution.
NCT02256475
This is a Phase 1b, open-label, multiple-dose study of the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of NBI-98854 in a total of 36 pediatric subjects with Tourette syndrome (TS). The study will be conducted in approximately 18 male and female children (6 to 11 years of age) and approximately 18 male and female adolescents (12 to 18 years of age). Both age groups will be divided equally into 3 dosing cohorts with 6 subjects each. Ascending doses will be evaluated as part of a staggered-cohort design. Study drug will be administered in each cohort for 14 consecutive days.
NCT01597596
A study to demonstrate comparable safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of alglucosidase alfa manufactured at the 160 litre (L) and 4000 L scales in participants who had been diagnosed with infantile-onset Pompe disease. Participants were treated with alglucosidase alfa 160 L scale product in the United States (US) and 4000 L scale product in the regions outside the US.
NCT00487786
This study is for patients with cancer who have failed potentially curative treatments or for whose disease a curative treatment does not exist. OGX-427 is an antisense product that inhibits expression of one of the heat shock proteins. Decreasing this heat shock protein (Hsp27) should result in down regulation of pathways implicated in cancer progression and development of resistance to treatment.
NCT01045655
The study will evaluate the effectiveness of a culturally relevant, multi-component intervention for antenatal depression. The intervention includes an engagement session, and the woman's choice of brief interpersonal psychotherapy and/or pharmacotherapy in a stepped care treatment for depression model.
NCT01345630
The purpose of this study is to assess whether maraviroc administered once daily is non-inferior to emtricitabine/tenofovir also administered once daily each in combination with darunavir/ritonavir in the treatment of antiretroviral-naive patients as evaluated at Week 48 of treatment.
NCT00851799
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) guidelines recommend that HIV-infected people who have never received anti-HIV therapy be treated with a triple drug regimen (commonly called combination antiretroviral therapy, cART). Since the introduction of cART, morbidity and mortality among HIV-infected patients has been dramatically reduced. However, metabolic, skeletal, and cardiovascular diseases have been increasingly reported among HIV-infected patients and may be attributable, in part, to the direct effects of cART. Much of our understanding of the development of these diseases, risk factors, and consequences of these disorders has been derived from clinical studies of HIV-infected persons receiving older antiretroviral agents. A5260s was designed to examine the contributions of HIV-disease related factors and impact of newer antiretroviral drugs on the development of metabolic (such as blood vessels, blood sugar, cholesterol), skeletal, and cardiovascular diseases in people who have never received anti-HIV therapy. A5260s is a prospective substudy of a phase III randomized clinical trial A5257 (see ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT00811954). A5257 was designed to look at different combinations of anti-HIV drugs that do not contain the medication efavirenz (EFV) and how well these drug combinations work to decrease the amount of HIV in the blood and to allow immune system recovery in people who have never received anti-HIV therapy. A5257 also examined drug tolerability and safety for the various drug combinations.
NCT00234039
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving gemcitabine directly into the bladder may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well gemcitabine works in treating patients with recurrent bladder cancer that has progressed despite previous Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG).
NCT00111488
The purpose of the Randomized Study of Surgical Ablation with Microwave Energy for the Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation (RESOLVE-AF) trial is to determine the safety and effectiveness of the Guidant FLEX® Microwave Surgical Ablation System in the treatment of permanent atrial fibrillation (AF).
NCT00040157
To determine safety and efficacy of ACH-126,443 on the treatment of adults with HIV infection who have modestly detectable viral load while on stable triple combination antiretroviral therapy including 3TC.
NCT00112294
The primary purpose of this clinical research study is to learn if patients treated with the combination of Taxane/Carboplatin plus Cetuximab (C/T/C) have a longer progression-free survival than patients treated with Taxane/Carboplatin (T/C) alone. The safety of this treatment will also be studied.
NCT00305643
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving radiation therapy together with capecitabine may kill more tumor cells. Celecoxib may prevent or lessen hand-foot syndrome caused by capecitabine. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well celecoxib works in preventing hand/foot syndrome caused by capecitabine in patients with metastatic breast or colorectal cancer.
NCT00313300
The purpose of this clinical research study is to determine whether apixaban will be safe in people who have recently had unstable angina or a heart attack.
NCT01109524
The purpose of the study is to determine if U.S. manufactured Cetuximab can be safely used for the treatment of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in combination with Cisplatin and Vinorelbine.
NCT00786201
The experimental drug CNTO 888 is currently being studied in cancer patients with solid tumors and this study is the first to use this drug for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). This study tests the safety and effectiveness of CNTO 888 compared to placebo. The purpose of this research study is to determine if CNTO 888 is safe and to determine its effects (good and bad) on patients with IPF. The study will be conducted at approximately 28 sites globally. Patients can remain on usual, accepted treatment for IPF while enrolled in the study. Participating in other experimental studies or taking other experimental medications while participating in this study will not be allowed.
