NCT00880022
No studies have tested the potential benefit of the Flexitouch® truncal/chest garments on reducing truncal lymphedema in breast cancer survivors (BCS) or the theoretical added benefit of applying truncal/chest pneumatic compression therapy to open lymph channels in individuals who have only limb lymphedema or its impact on the trunk/chest. The purpose of this two-part study is to fill gaps related to: 1) the impact of the Flexitouch® System on truncal lymphedema, and 2) the therapeutic benefit of truncal /chest pneumatic compression therapy for arm lymphedema. Hypotheses: Part One: BCS with arm and truncal lymphedema. H1: Arm swelling (as measured by bioelectrical impedance \& arm girth in cm) will be reduced after 10 sessions with the Flexitouch® System. H2: Truncal swelling (as measured circumferentially) will be reduced after 10 sessions with the Flexitouch® System. H3: The number, severity, and intensity, of physical and psychological symptoms (as measured by the Lymphedema Symptom Intensity and Distress Scale: Trunk and Arm) will be reduced after 10 sessions with the Flexitouch® System. H4: Functional assessment scores (as measured by the Functional Assessment Screening Questionnaire \[FASQ\] will improve after 10 sessions with the Flexitouch® System. Part Two: BCS with Arm Lymphedema H1: Arm volume (as measured by bioelectrical impedance \& arm girth in cm) will be significantly reduced after one month of home use in participants using the Flexitouch® System (truncal, chest, and arm compression) when compared to those using the Flexitouch® System (arm compression only). H2: Truncal measurements/volume (as measured circumferentially) will be less after one month of home use with the Flexitouch® System (truncal, chest, and arm compression) when compared to those using the Flexitouch® System (arm compression only). H3: The number, severity, and intensity, of physical and psychological symptoms (as measured by Lymphedema Symptom Intensity and Distress Scale - Arm ) will be significantly reduced after one month of home use with the Flexitouch® System (truncal, chest, and arm garments) when compared to individuals using the Flexitouch® System (arm compression only) . H4: Functional assessment scores (as measured by the FASQ) will be significantly higher after one month of home use with the Flexitouch® System (truncal, chest, and arm garments) when compared to individuals using the Flexitouch® System (arm compression only).
NCT02138825
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of 26-weeks of treatment with riociguat vs. placebo in patients with symptomatic PH (pulmonary hypertension) associated with IIP (idiopathic interstitial pneumonias).
NCT00770328
PAI-1 is elevated in obese individuals. TNF-alpha, an inflammatory mediator is believed to play a role in obesity mediated elevations in PAI-1 levels. TNF-alpha blockade with antibodies and the drug pentoxifylline have been shown to lower PAI-1 levels in animal models. This study tests the hypothesis that pentoxifylline will lower PAI-1 levels in human subjects.
NCT00991120

Enrolled subjects will receive two Ulthera® treatments on the peri-orbital and peri-oral regions, each treatment provided 30 days apart. Follow-up visits will occur at 90 and 180 days following treatment. Study images will be obtained pre-treatment, immediately post-treatment, and at each follow-up visit.
NCT02290691
The purpose of this study is to determine if the administration of flu vaccine using Needle-Free is equivalent to Needle and Syringe administration as measured by laboratory tests of immune response.
NCT01005173
This study is a non-intervention, multicenter study to address biomarkers of acetaminophen toxicity in children. Specifically, the study will examine acetaminophen (APAP) protein adducts and markers of liver injury in the blood samples of hospitalized children and adolescents who are receiving standard doses of acetaminophen, and children and adolescents who are status post acetaminophen overdose. Ultimately, the data generated from this study will be used to establish second generation biomarkers of acetaminophen toxicity, based on specific adduct proteins, which can be used in future risk assessment studies of children receiving acetaminophen.
NCT00528606
This was a Phase 3, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study conducted in the United States. Subjects with a diagnosis of Dupuytren's contracture in a metacarpophalangeal (MP) or proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint that resulted in a fixed flexion deformity of at least one finger, other than the thumb, that was at least 20° as measured by finger goniometry and was suitable for injection were randomized 2:1 to receive AA4500 0.58 mg or placebo. This study was designed to be part of the larger clinical program, for adult patients with Dupuytren's contracture with a palpable cord, where the data from 2 pivotal Placebo-Controlled studies (AUX-CC-857 (NCT00528606) and AUX-CC-859 (NCT00533273)) and 7 non-pivotal studies were evaluated.
NCT00843518
The purpose of this study is to determine whether this drug can help symptoms of aggression and agitation in participants with Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00381797
This phase II trial is studying how well giving bevacizumab together with irinotecan works in treating young patients with recurrent, progressive, or refractory glioma, medulloblastoma, ependymoma, or low grade glioma. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of glioma by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as irinotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving bevacizumab together with irinotecan may kill more tumor cells.
NCT01281254
To determine if AMG 386 plus pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) is superior to placebo plus PLD as measured by progression-free survival (PFS) The hypothesis for this study is that AMG 386 plus PLD will prolong PFS compared to placebo plus PLD in women with recurrent partially platinum sensitive or resistant epithelial ovarian, primary peritoneal or fallopian tube cancer.
NCT02401022
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of AZD8529 for smoking cessation in female smokers.
NCT01349933
This phase II trial is studying how well Akt inhibitor MK2206 works in treating patients with recurrent or metastatic head and neck cancer. Akt inhibitor MK2206 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
NCT00867087

NCT01722461
This is a prospective, multi-center, randomized, double-blinded study. Subjects enrolled will be randomly assigned to receive either active treatments for axillary hyperhidrosis with the Ulthera System in both axillas, or sham treatments, also with the Ulthera System but with the energy settings on the device set to deliver no ultrasound energy. Subjects will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio, with 2 subjects randomized to active treatment for every one subject randomized to sham treatment. Subjects will receive 2 study treatments 30 days apart. Subjects and study personnel conducting efficacy measures will be blinded to the assigned treatment groups. The study hypothesis is that subjects in the active treatment group will have a greater reduction in underarm sweating compared to those in the sham group as measured by a quality of life questionnaire. All subjects will undergo follow-up assessments at 14 days and 30 days from the date of their first study treatment, and 14 days, 30 days, 3 months and 6 months from the date of their second study treatment. Subjects in the active treatment group will also undergo follow-up assessments at 9 months and 12 months from the date of their second study treatment.
