NCT00003178
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of idarubicin and cladribine in treating children who have recurrent acute myeloid leukemia.
NCT00002805
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome in first relapse or who did not achieve first remission.
NCT01654536
This is a 6 month, multicenter, randomized, open label, parallel group, study to evaluate the nasal safety of ciclesonide nasal aerosol and ciclesonide aqueous nasal spray administered once daily to male and female subjects 12 years and older diagnosed with PAR.
NCT00005578
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Chemoprotective drugs, such as dexrazoxane, may protect normal cells from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy with or without dexrazoxane in treating children who have Hodgkin's disease.
NCT00003735
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of topotecan in treating children who have relapsed acute leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, or blast phase chronic myelogenous leukemia.
NCT01714544
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Cloderm Cream is effective for topical treatment of moderate psoriasis over 28 days.
NCT01107886
The purpose of this study is to determine whether saxagliptin can reduce the risk of cardiovascular events when used alone or added to other diabetes medications
NCT01076452
The goal of the second phase of the study is to determine if simultaneous bilateral subthalamic nucleus stimulation or simultaneous bilateral globus pallidus stimulation is more effective in reducing symptoms of Parkinson's Disease.
NCT01511458
The purpose of this blinded, multi-center, prospective, case-controlled study is to compare the Ariosa Harmony™ Prenatal Test for trisomy 21 detection with a standard first-trimester prenatal screening test consisting of serum screening (PAPP-A,free beta-hCG \[β-hCG\] or total hCG) and a nuchal translucency (NT) measurement (i.e. combined first trimester screening) in a general screened population. The performance characteristics of these two test modalities will be assessed relative to the clinical reference standard of genetic analysis of the fetus or phenotypic characterization and genetic analysis of the newborn.
NCT01362296
This is a phase II, open-label, multicenter, randomized study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GSK1120212 compared with docetaxel in the second line setting for subjects with locally advanced or metastatic (Stage IV) Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring a KRAS mutation who have failed one platinum-containing chemotherapy regimen. A small subset of NSCLC subjects harboring BRAF, NRAS, or MEK1 mutations will be randomized in addition to the primary KRAS population, for exploratory purposes.
NCT01150851
The central aim of this study is to improve understanding of how metabolic pathways that contribute to adiposity also amplify risks of kidney disease progression and cardiovascular disease in subjects with moderate to severe CKD. In order to achieve this goal, we propose the following aims through a randomized 2x2 factorial design trial in subjects with moderate to severe CKD: (a) To assess the feasibility of implementing aerobic exercise and caloric restriction interventions, and (b) To examine the effects of aerobic exercise and caloric restriction on a metabolic risk profile, including systemic measures of oxidative stress, inflammation, insulin resistance, and endothelial dysfunction. Hypothesis: We hypothesize that implementation of caloric restriction and aerobic exercise is feasible and can improve the metabolic milieu (as assessed by measures of oxidative stress, inflammation, insulin resistance, and endothelial dysfunction) in subjects with moderate to severe CKD. Interim analysis may be performed (no specific plan at this time).
NCT00002740
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow doctors to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus peripheral stem cell transplantation followed by surgery and/or radiation therapy in treating young patients who have newly diagnosed advanced neuroblastoma.
NCT00003597
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors such as thrombopoietin and G-CSF may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of colony-stimulating factors in treating children who have recurrent or refractory solid tumors and who are receiving chemotherapy.
NCT00235716
The purpose of this study is to determine whether alpha-tocopherol, memantine (Namenda), or the combination will significantly delay clinical progression in mild to moderately demented patients with Alzheimer's disease compared to placebo.
NCT00882258
Two (2) dose levels of Proellex or placebo will be administered once-daily for up to 91 days. Following screening and a pre-treatment endometrial biopsy, subjects will be followed monthly for the three month treatment phase.
NCT00811473
The purpose of this study is to determine if quetiapine fumarate extended-release (quetiapine XR or SEROQUEL® XR) 150 to 300 mg/day taken by itself is effective and safe in treating children or adolescents aged 10 to 17 with bipolar depression and if so, how it compares with placebo (a non-active tablet, like a sugar pill, that looks like quetiapine).
NCT00467844
The purpose of this study is to assess if Gtx-024 is effective in increasing lean body mass in subjects with muscle wasting related to cancer.
NCT00071422
Insulin is a chemical that the body needs in order to use or store sugar. It is made by a type of cell called a beta cell which resides in an organ known as the pancreas. Type 2 diabetes is a disease where the beta cells are unable to meet a person's insulin needs. Sugar levels rise in the blood as a result. INGAP-Peptide is being tested to attempt to create new beta cells in the pancreas, and to improve the ability to produce insulin in type 2 diabetic patients.
NCT00071409
Insulin is a chemical that the body needs in order to use or store sugar. It is made by a type of cell called a beta cell which resides in an organ known as the pancreas. Type 1 diabetes is a disease where the beta cells have been destroyed so that little or no insulin is made. Sugar levels rise in the blood as a result. INGAP-Peptide is being tested to attempt to create new beta cells in the pancreas, and to restore the ability to produce insulin in type 1 diabetic patients.
NCT01040793
To compare the effects of BI 1744 CL versus placebo on exercise tolerance after 6 weeks of treatment in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
