NCT00658515
This study will evaluate the potential of RO4607381 to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in stable coronary heart disease patients with recent Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and evaluate the long term safety profile of the drug. Eligible patients in stable condition will be randomized to receive either RO4607381 600mg po or placebo po, daily, together with a background of standard medication for ACS (including aspirin, antihypertensives and statins). The anticipated time on study treatment is 2+ years, and the target sample size is 15,600 individuals.
NCT02858362
To Assess the Activity and Safety of SMT C1100 (Ezutromid) in Paediatric Male Participants with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
NCT01550367
The main goal of the research study is to determine whether treating renal cell cancer patients with the study drug, hydroxychloroquine, along with IL-2, a standard treatment of kidney cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, can make the cancer easier to kill and eliminate. Another goal is to see how the study drug affects the body's immune cells which fight cancer cells.
NCT01496378
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of problem-solving skills training (PSST) to reduce distress and increase coping abilities among parents of youth with chronic pain. We hypothesize that parents will complete the PSST intervention and will find it to be an acceptable and satisfactory treatment. We also hypothesize that parents who receive PSST will have less distress and better coping skills than parents who receive standard care, and that children of parents who receive PSST will have better physical and emotional functioning than children of parents who receive standard care.
NCT01094366
Many woman undergoing a surgical abortion receive a paracervical nerve block for pain reduction, in which lidocaine (a numbing medication) is injected around the cervix. These injections numb the cervix and possibly the lower part of the uterus. However, the injection can be uncomfortable and it is not well known whether it is effective in reducing pain. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of pain women experience with a surgical abortion and the effect that paracervical block might have on that pain.
NCT02943564
This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of two doses of rapastinel, 225 milligrams (mg) and 450 mg, compared to placebo adjunctive to antidepressant therapy (ADT) in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) who have a partial response to ADT.
NCT00928993
The purpose of this study is to learn how well an instrument called an Actiwatch-2 can determine whether a child is asleep or awake. The Actiwatch-2 (manufactured by Minimitter/Respironics of Bend, Oregon) is the brand name for an actigraphy monitor; that is, a motion sensor that is typically worn on the wrist and looks like a wrist watch. It measures and records the amount of movement a person makes each minute. After being worn overnight, data are transferred from the Actiwatch to a computer, and a program estimates whether a person is awake or asleep by analyzing the recorded movement data. The enrollment target is 80 participants. Although other actigraphy equipment has been used to monitor sleep in children, the Actiwatch-2 has not been validated in the pediatric population.
NCT00423046
HPV infection has been established as a necessary cause of cervical cancer. GSK Biologicals has developed an HPV-16/18 L1 VLP AS04 vaccine (Cervarix TM) which targets the 2 most common oncogenic HPV types (HPV-16 and HPV-18), found in \> 70%, approximately, of all cervical cancers. Recently, Merck's HPV vaccine Gardasil® \[quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV-6,11,16,18 L1 VLP) recombinant vaccine\] has been approved by the FDA for prevention of genital tract cancers and pre-cancers and genital warts in females. Although the GSK HPV vaccine and Gardasil® have different compositions and are expected to have different efficacy profiles, each vaccine targets prevention of HPV-16 and 18 genital tract cancers and pre-cancers. Therefore, a comparison of the immunogenicity of the two vaccines is warranted. This Phase 3b study is designed to compare the immunogenicity of the GSK vaccine (HPV-16/18) to Gardasil® in healthy adult females 18-45 years of age. The Protocol Posting has been updated as the study will be extended by 3 additional years.
NCT01982240
The purpose of this study is to confirm that the investigational medication, plecanatide, is safe and effective in treating chronic idiopathic constipation.
NCT02404220
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety of entospletinib in combination with vincristine (VCR), and dexamethasone (DEX) in adults with previously treated relapsed or refractory B-cell lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). This is a dose escalation study in which after 2 induction cycles participants may be put on maintenance for up to 36 cycles if they have obtained clinical benefit from the treatment.
NCT00697203
This 4 arm study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of RO4607381 when co-administered with pravastatin in patients with low or relatively low HDL-C levels. Patients will be randomised to one of 4 groups to receive either RO4607381 300mg, 600mg or 900mg po daily, or placebo po daily, for 12 weeks. All patients will also receive pravastatin 40mg po daily for 12 weeks. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3 months and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT02345252
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the noninferiority of switching to emtricitabine/rilpivirine /tenofovir alafenamide (FTC/RPV/TAF) fixed-dose combination (FDC) as compared to continuing FTC/RPV/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) FDC (FTC/RPV/TDF) in virologically suppressed HIV-1 infected participants.
NCT01565668
This study will evaluate two doses of Quizartinib in patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia who are also FMS-like tyrosine kinase - internal tandem duplication ( FLT3-ITD) positive. Patient will be randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to one of two treatment arms. Both treatment arms will receive Quizartinib but at different doses. The study treatment is taken orally in 28 day cycles until either disease progression occurs or an unacceptable toxicity occurs. In addition to the study assessments to evaluate the disease, blood will be drawn to measure drug levels and biomarkers. Patients will be followed for survival at three month intervals after the end of treatment.
NCT00723099
This phase II trial is studying how well umbilical cord blood transplant from a donor works in treating patients with hematological cancer. Giving chemotherapy and total-body irradiation (TBI) before a donor umbilical cord blood transplant helps stop the growth of cancer and abnormal cells and helps stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the healthy stem cells from an unrelated donor, that do not exactly match the patient's blood, are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can make an immune response against the body's normal cells (called graft-versus-host disease). Giving cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil before and after transplant may stop this from happening.
NCT03294538
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the therapeutic equivalence of the Test formulation, generic Estradiol Vaginal Cream United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), 0.01% (Teva Pharmaceuticals, United States of America) to the marketed product, Estrace® Cream estradiol vaginal cream USP, 0.01% (Warner Chilcott) in participants with atrophic vaginitis; to demonstrate the superiority of the Test and Reference (active) treatments over Placebo (vehicle) cream in participants with atrophic vaginitis; and to compare the safety of Test, Reference, and Placebo treatments in participants with atrophic vaginitis.
