NCT02959736
The purpose of this project is to further develop a standardized music-based measure used in music therapy with adults who have emerged from coma following profound brain injury, but are not able to demonstrate responsiveness to their environment due to complex clinical needs. Building on previous work, the project aims to strengthen the psychometric properties (e.g. concurrent validity, responsiveness) of the measure for its use with adults with profound brain damage.
NCT02556645
The purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the efficacy and potential biological mechanisms of action of 10 sessions of a web-version of Prolonged Exposure (PE), "Web-PE," delivered over 8-weeks to 10 sessions of Present Centered Treatment (PCT) delivered over 8-weeks by a therapist in 120 active duty military personnel with PTSD. Up to 170 individuals will be consented to obtain data from 120 for analysis. Participants will be assessed at pre-treatment, mid-treatment, and 1-, 3- and 6-months after treatment completion.
NCT01842581
The purpose of the study is to evaluate if rifaximin alone or rifaximin plus lactulose delays the onset of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) in participants with cirrhosis who have had a previous episode of HE.
NCT02713659
This study is testing the effects of early literacy promotion compared to standard literacy promotion at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Eligible participants and their families will be consented and randomly assigned into either a standard literacy program or an early literacy program. Standard literacy will consist of the receipt of books and reading promotion beginning at 6 months of age, while early literacy will consist of the receipt of books and reading promotion beginning in the newborn period. In both groups, participants will receive weekly text messages until the child is 6 months old (the text messages will either about reading or safety) and have follow-up study visits at 6, 12, 18, and 24 months. The study will examine the effects of the intervention on language development and reading behaviors.
NCT01408160
This phase I trial studies the side effects and the best dose of deglycosylated ricin A chain-conjugated anti-cluster of differentiation (CD)19/anti-CD22 immunotoxins when given together with cytarabine in treating patients with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia that has come back after a period of improvement (relapsed) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). Immunotoxins, such as deglycosylated ricin A chain-conjugated anti-CD19/anti-CD22 immunotoxins, can find certain cancer cells and kill them without harming normal cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving deglycosylated ricin A chain-conjugated anti-CD19/anti-CD22 immunotoxins with cytarabine may kill more cancer cells.
NCT01287585
This is a study of ADI-PEG 20 (pegylated arginine deiminase), an arginine degrading enzyme versus placebo in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who have failed prior systemic treatment (chemotherapy). Hepatocellular carcinomas have been found to require arginine, an amino acid. Thus the hypothesis is that by restricting arginine with ADI-PEG 20, the hepatocellular carcinoma cells will starve and die.
NCT02239120
This trial will enroll approximately 6,000 patients with recent embolic stroke of unknown source (ESUS). Patients will be randomized to dabigatran or acetylsalicyclic acid (ASA) (1:1 ratio) and have visits every three months. The study doctor may prescribe blinded concomitant ASA for pts with coronary artery disease but this is not mandatory. All Adverse Events (AEs), Serious Adverse Events (SAEs), outcome events will be recorded. The trial will conclude when the required number of stroke events are positively adjudicated which is estimated to take 3 years (including 2.5 years of enrollment).
NCT01755247
A Phase I, Single-Center, Open-Label, Randomized, Parallel Group, 3 Day Study Evaluating the Safety and Cutaneous Tolerability of NVN1000 Topical Gel in Healthy Volunteers
NCT03692182
The aim of this study is to retrospectively evaluate and describe the use of antipsychotics among participants enrolled in the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), a community-based practice setting.
NCT02240121
The primary objective is to determine the efficacy of rifaximin DR also referred to as Extended Intestinal Release (EIR) tablets vs. placebo for the induction of clinical remission and endoscopic response following 16 weeks of treatment in participants presenting with active moderate Crohn's disease. A key secondary objective is to evaluate clinical and endoscopic remission following an additional 36 weeks of treatment.
NCT02556177
This is an open-label, non-randomized, prospective, multi-site, parallel group (segment), hypothesis-generating study designed to collect data that will aid in future scientific and engineering exploration of correlations between clinical neuropsychological assessments and GE Research Pack II advanced MR imaging in mTBI patients. The results are primarily intended for scientific inquiry and engineering development purposes, and may be used in future regulatory submissions.
NCT02092909
Recent reports have identified a specific oncogenic mutation L265P of the MYD88 gene in approximately 90% of the patients with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia. MYD88 is a key linker protein in the signaling pathway of Toll Like Receptors (TLRs) 7, 8, and 9, and IMO-8400 is an oligonucleotide specifically designed to inhibit TLRs 7,8, and 9. The scientific hypothesis for use of IMO-8400 to treat patients with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia depends on the inhibition of mutant MYD88 signaling in the TLR pathway, thereby interrupting the proliferation of cell populations responsible for the propagation of the disease.
NCT01282463
This multicenter trial will enroll participants with metastatic transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder, urethra, ureter, or renal pelvis who have had disease progression on first-line platinum-based chemotherapy regimens. Participants will be enrolled into 1 of 3 treatment arms: docetaxel; docetaxel and ramucirumab; or docetaxel and icrucumab.
NCT01949779
The primary objective of this registry is to collect real world data on the safety and performance of the TransForm™ Occlusion Balloon Catheter when used in current neurointerventional procedures
NCT02262052
The Theia-study is a prospective, multicenter, single-arm management (cohort) study. Consecutive patients with clinically suspected acute, recurrent, ipsilateral, proximal deep vein thrombosis (DVT) of the leg, who fulfil all the inclusion criteria and meet none of the exclusion criteria, are eligible for inclusion and will be managed according to the result of a magnetic resonance direct thrombus imaging (MRDTI) of the affected leg. The MRDTI is to be performed and adjudicated within 24 hours of study inclusion. The final treatment decision will be made based on this ruling of the MRDTI. In case of a positive MRDTI signal, patients will be treated with therapeutically dosed anticoagulants or modified in patients with a recurrent DVT on anticoagulant therapy. Patients with a negative MRDTI ruling will be left untreated, or treatment will be remained unadjusted if they are on anticoagulant treatment at inclusion. All patients with negative MRDTI will be subjected to a standardized compression ultrasonography (CUS) within 48 hours after initial presentation. The latter CUS serves as a reference test in case the patient returns with symptoms of ipsilateral recurrence in the future, and will not be used for management decisions at baseline. The study flowchart can be found in Appendix A. All patients will be followed for three months for the occurrence of acute recurrent venous thrombo-embolism (VTE). In case of suspected recurrent VTE, objective testing including either computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) for PE or CUS for DVT will be performed. Additionally, in case of a proven ipsilateral recurrent DVT during follow-up, MRDTI will be repeated.
NCT00005799
This clinical trial studies fludarabine phosphate, low-dose total body irradiation, and donor stem cell transplant in treating patients with hematologic malignancies or kidney cancer. Giving chemotherapy drugs, such as fludarabine phosphate, and total-body irradiation before a donor peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It may also stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. The donated stem cells may replace the patient's immune cells and help destroy any remaining cancer cells (graft-versus-tumor effect). Giving an infusion of the donor's T cells (donor lymphocyte infusion) after the transplant may help increase this effect. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can also make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving cyclosporine before the transplant and cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil after the transplant may stop this from happening.
