NCT00031434
The purpose of this study is to evaluate how ganciclovir is metabolized when administered intravenously (by a needle inserted into a vein) following valganciclovir syrup, given by mouth to newborns and young infants with symptoms of congenital (present at birth) cytomegalovirus (CMV) disease. The study also seeks to identify a dose of valganciclovir that provides a comparable blood concentration to ganciclovir present in the blood of newborns with symptomatic congenital CMV disease. All study participants will receive 6 weeks of antiviral therapy (defined as ganciclovir and/or valganciclovir). Infants from 0 to 30 days old will participate in the study for 2 years.
NCT00449501
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate whether subjects respond similarly to the Onset of Effect Questionnaire (OEQ) administered pre-dose versus post-dose, while receiving SYMBICORT® pMDI 80/4.5 μg x 2 actuations twice daily or budesonide HFA pMDI 80 μg x 2 actuations twice daily.
NCT00449527
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate whether subjects respond similarly to the Onset of Effect Questionnaire (OEQ) using a 1 week recall period versus a 1 day recall period.
NCT00688740
The purpose of this study was to compare disease-free survival after treatment with docetaxel in combination with doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide to 5-fluorouracil in combination with doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide in operable breast cancer patients with positive axillary lymph nodes.
NCT01076751
Primary Objective: * Describe real-life survival of CRPC patients who received first-line docetaxel and have disease progression Secondary Objective: * Describe treatment patterns * Describe the characteristics and outcomes of patients who received second-line taxane-based treatment compared to others * Describe economic and patient-reported outcomes
NCT00670228
Primary objective: To demonstrate that in hyperglycemic subjects with anterior STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), tight glycemic control using insulin glulisine and insulin glargine, i.e. Intensive Insulin Therapy (IIT), results in reducing infarct size at day 60 versus (vs) Standard Glycemic Care (SGC). Secondary objectives: To demonstrate that tight glycemic control using insulin glulisine and insulin glargine reduces markers of inflammation and improves Left Ventricular (LV) function and Cardio-Vascular (CV) outcomes from baseline values, in hyperglycemic subjects with STEMI undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).
NCT00401323
The purpose of the study is to compare time to progression and overall survival after treatment with Taxotere plus cisplatin versus cisplatin plus 5-FU (PF treatment group) in the first line treatment of patients with recurrent and/or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
NCT00130403
To determine how prior therapy with alendronate or risedronate in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis influences the clinical effectiveness of teriparatide; The primary objective of the study is to compare the teriparatide (human, recombinant PTH\[1-34\])-associated change from baseline in a marker of bone formation, N-terminal propeptide of type I collagen (P1NP), between subjects previously treated with risedronate and those previously treated with alendronate.
NCT00473616
This is an open-label, multi-center, dose-escalation and safety expansion, Phase I study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinectics and to investigate biomarker changes of AZD7762 administered as a single intravenous unit and in combination with irinotecan. The study is sponsored by AstraZeneca.
NCT00779688
This registry will collect data from patients routinely undergoing an ERCP and Cellvizio endomicroscopy procedure (and optionally an additional cholangiopancreatoscopy procedure) due to suspected pancreatic or bile duct cancer. The objective is to determine if endomicroscopy images collected using the marketed Cellvizio device may help endoscopists more accurately diagnose, in conjunction with traditional tissue sampling techniques, whether a suspected lesion is malignant or benign.
NCT00050687
This study will test the safety, tolerance, and efficacy of different doses of oral gallium maltolate. Patients will receive oral gallium maltolate twice daily for 28-consecutive days followed by 14 days off treatment. This dosing cycle will be repeated. Adverse effects will be assessed and the levels of gallium in serum will be measured. Any effect of the drug on the cancer and any improvement in cancer-related symptoms will also be measured.
NCT00326586
This is a Phase I Dose-Escalation Study of BMS641988 in Patients with Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer.
NCT00190684
To learn about the safety and any side effects of atomoxetine when given to children and adolescents for about 5 years (long-term) and to learn whether atomoxetine can help children and adolescents with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who take the drug for about 5 years (long-term). Study participants can be atomoxetine naive, atomoxetine experienced whose therapy has been interrupted or, atomoxetine experienced on a known stable dose.
NCT00812058
The purpose of this study is to test a new drug, RG2417, to see how the drug affects symptoms of bipolar I depression and to make sure it is safe in humans.
NCT00283088
The purpose of this trial is to evaluate if it is safe to use tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) within 6 hours of stroke onset when combined with hypothermia.
NCT00251992
The aim is to evaluate if the resolution of upper abdominal symptoms (pain or burning) during an acid suppressive test trial of esomprazole given daily for 7 days predicts symptoms resolution at the end of a subsequent treatment period of 7 weeks.
NCT00241540
This study is a randomised, double-blind, parallel-group and placebo controlled study comparing the efficacy of esomeprazole 40 mg orally qd vs. placebo and esomeprazole 20 mg orally qd vs. placebo when given to patients on continuous use of NSAIDs, including COX-2 selective NSAIDs, for a period of 4 weeks in treatment of relief of upper GI symptoms.
NCT00762619
The efficacy of two dentifrices in controlling gingivitis and plaque in adults with implants
NCT00329004
The purpose of this research study is to determine the highest dose of the drug (BMS-690514) that can be safely given to patients with advanced cancer.
NCT00351910
To evaluate the efficacy of quetiapine fumarate sustained release (Seroquel SR™) in combination with an antidepressant versus an antidepressant alone in patients with Major Depressive Disorder. PLEASE NOTE: Seroquel SR and Seroquel XR refer to the same formulation. The SR designation was changed to XR after consultation with FDA.
