The purpose of the study is to determine the most effective and safe schedule for giving these drugs in non small cell lung carcinoma.
NCT00525148
The primary objective of this open-label, single arm Phase II trial is to explore the efficacy of BIBW 2992 defined by the objective response rate (CR, PR) as determined by RECIST criteria in patients with advanced NSCLC Stage IIIB or IV whose tumors harbor activating mutations within exon 18 to exon 21 of the EGFR receptor. Patients progressing or relapsing after one prior cytotoxic chemotherapy regimen as well as chemotherapy naïve patients (only in stage 2) will be allowed to enter into the trial.
NCT00571649
This study will evaluate if extended therapy with oral rivaroxaban can prevent blood clots in the leg and lung that can occur with patients hospitalized for acute medical illness, and compare these results with those of the standard enoxaparin dose and duration regimen. The safety of rivaroxaban will also be studied.
NCT00170339
This is a pilot study designed to answer the question " Do men who are receiving methadone maintenance therapy have lower spinal bone densities compared with age-matched controls who are not receiving methadone therapy?" The primary aim is to assess whether the mean or median spinal dual-ray energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan results are different between these two groups of male patients. Primary measurements include: spinal bone densitometry by DEXA scan. The secondary aim is to examine the role of sex steroids in men receiving methadone maintenance therapy and their association with spinal bone density and sexual dysfunction. Secondary measurements include: serum testosterone, estradiol, lutenizing hormone, albumin, sex hormone binding globulin and Vitamin D levels; age; Brief Sexual Function Inventory; Dietary, smoking/alcohol use and physical activity; Medical history, surgical and medication use; length of time using illicit opiates and time on methadone maintenance therapy.
NCT00770146
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of dosing with mipomersen for 26 weeks in patients with high cholesterol who are on a maximally tolerated dose of statin and who have a diagnosis that puts them at least at high risk of coronary heart disease (CHD).
NCT01105962
This is an observational research study whose purposes are to see: 1. if 40 Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy sessions at 1.5 atmospheres (HBOT 1.5) or more (60, or 80 HBOT's) help, worsen, or have no effect on subjects with chronic TBI/PCS (Traumatic Brain Injury/Post-Concussion Syndrome) and/or PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). 2. if improvements or worsening of symptoms can be recorded with computerized and written tests for memory and thinking, and with questionnaires about the subject's quality of life and health. 3. determine the long-term outcome of the treatment. 4. confirm, in large numbers of study participants at multiple sites nationwide, the strong positive results obtained in pilot studies
NCT00107757
The purpose of this study is to determine if the investigational drug is effective and safe in children with seasonal allergic rhinitis.
NCT00329225
This 24-week study will compare the effects of adding the drug rosiglitazone (2mg and 4mg) or placebo to insulin in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (non-insulin-dependent) who have not achieved their blood glucose goal using insulin alone. This study requires a total of seven visits during 28 weeks.
NCT01167881
This is a pivotal phase III study, mandatory to seek approval by regulatory authorities for BI 10773 as an anti-diabetic agent compared to an active comparator in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and insufficient glycaemic control.
NCT00706849
The purpose of this study is to determine whether mipomersen safely and effectively lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in patients with Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) and coronary artery disease (CAD) who are already on a stable dose of other lipid-lowering agents (including maximally tolerated statin therapy).
NCT00496262
This study evaluated the single-dose pharmacokinetics of human fibrinogen concentrate and clot strength (maximum clot firmness \[MCF\]) in subjects with congenital fibrinogen deficiency. MCF was measured to demonstrate the functional activity of replacement fibrinogen when a fixed dose of human fibrinogen concentrate was administered.
NCT01286753
This open-label, multi-center study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of Vemurafenib (RO5185426) in participants with metastatic or unresectable papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) positive for the BRAF V600 mutation and resistant to radioactive iodine therapy. Participants will receive vemurafenib 960 milligrams (mg) orally twice daily until progressive disease or unacceptable toxicity occurs.
NCT02222207
Part A (Phase IIa): Primary objectives: The study part A is designed to investigate whether the use of regorafenib eye drops can help patients with neovascular (wet) Age-Related Macular Degeneration (wAMD) to see better after 4 weeks and 12 weeks after inclusion into this study. Secondary objectives: The study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of the regorafenib eye drops. Part B (Phase IIb): Primary objectives: The study part B is designed to investigate: * how often the regorafenib eye drops need to be given per day * whether the use of regorafenib eye drops can help patients with neovascular (wet) Age-Related Macular Degeneration (wAMD) to see better after 4 weeks and 12 weeks after inclusion into this study. Secondary objectives: The study will also evaluate how the different dosings of regorafenib eye drops affect patients vision, the safety and the tolerability.
NCT01964235
This study is establish whether INC280 is safe and has beneficial effects in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma known to have dysregulation of c-MET pathway and whose disease progressed while on, or after, treatment with sorafenib or who are intolerant to sorafenib. Patients will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to receive INC280 at 600mg BID plus best supportive care (BSC) or placebo plus BSC, until disease progression or intolerable to study treatment. Patients treated with placebo plus BSC will have the opportunity to receive INC280 treatment upon documented further disease progression (RECIST 1.1) per investigator's discretion after unblinding. Patient will be stratified to geographical region (Asia vs Rest of World ) and tumor burden (present macroscopic vascular invasion and/or extra-hepatic spread vs not present).
NCT01358357
This is a multi-center, randomized, placebo-controlled, flexible-dose, parallel-group study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of lurasidone (in combination with lithium or divalproex) for the maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder in subjects with or without rapid cycling and /or psychotic features.
NCT00463294
I. Main Research Question: * To compare the risks and benefits of Off-pump Coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) to On-pump CABG and to determine if one is better than the other. * The purpose of this pilot study is also to see the rate of recruitment with expertise-based randomization across different hospital settings. II. Small RCT studies and meta-analyses done so far have not been able to conclusively say which of the procedure is better. A large randomized study is required to establish the risks and benefits associated with both the off-pump and on-pump CABG surgical procedures. III. The study will look at which of the two techniques reduce major risks associated with CABG.
