NCT03267940
The study is being conducted to assess the safety and tolerability of (1) PEGPH20 in combination with CIS and GEM (PEGCISGEM), and (2) PEGPH20 in combination with CIS, GEM, and atezolizumab (PEGCISGEMATEZO) compared with (3) cisplatin and gemcitabine (CISGEM).
NCT03351413
Purpose: To test the effect of LIVE-LiFE, a home-based, tailored fall prevention program for older adults with a high risk for falling. Study Type: Single-blind, two group randomized pilot trial. Randomization is 2:1 (27 intervention, 13 control). Participants have a chance of being in the LIVE-LiFE group or the control group. Safe-LiFE Group: Individually tailored intervention at the participant's home spaced across 12 weeks including: * Home safety assessment and risk reduction strategies; incorporating strength and balance training into daily habits vision screening and referral; and education about fear of falling and falls * Home repairs, modifications, and low cost assistive devices to address unsafe home environments increasing fall risk * Medication review and feedback concerning medications with increased fall risk Control Group: • An individualized fall risk assessment provided to participant and their primary care provider Sample: 40 community-dwelling older adults in Baltimore City or County
NCT03939780
The primary objective of this study is to identify a new radioligand for imaging of tauopathy in Alzheimer's disease through direct comparisons of two potential candidates, \[18F\]RO-948 (formerly known as \[18F\]6958948) and \[18F\]MK-6240, and demonstration of the candidates' absence of off-target binding.
NCT02414165
This is a multicenter, randomized, open-label phase 2/3 study of Toca 511 and Toca FC versus standard of care that comprises Investigator's choice of single agent chemotherapy (lomustine or temozolomide) or bevacizumab administered to subjects undergoing resection for first or second recurrence (including this recurrence) of GBM or AA. Subjects meeting all of the inclusion and none of the exclusion criteria will be randomized prior to surgery in a 1:1 ratio to receive either Toca 511 and Toca FC (Experimental arm, Arm T) or control treatment with one option of standard of care (Arm SOC). Stratification will be done by IDH1 mutation status. A second stratification factor is based on the patient's Karnofsky Performance Score (KPS) (70-80 vs 90-100). Further, to account for potential differences in treatment choices for the control arm in regions, the trial will be stratified by geographical region during the randomization process. NCT02599818
This study will examine the clinical effectiveness and health economic profile of services to link hospital patients with substance use disorders to addiction treatment, promote their medical stabilization, and reduce hospital re-admissions.
NCT02459899
The primary objective of this study was to define the dose leading to desirable efficacy, as measured by the change in hemoglobin A1C (A1C) between Baseline and Week 12.
NCT02798328
Observational trial to evaluate the effectiveness of the TEG6s DOAC cartridge to detect and classify the presence of DOAC drugs in a subject.
NCT00613626
At this point in the treatment of extensive stage SCLC, we have reached a plateau in survival with conventional chemotherapy and newer regimens are greatly needed. It has been noted that patients with increased VEGF levels have a poorer prognosis. Anti-angiogenic agents hold significant promise in the treatment of patients with extensive stage SCLC. ZD6474, a new inhibitor of the VEGFR-2, has shown favorable action in NSCLC.
NCT01298219
The primary purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of lubiprostone administration in subjects with Opioid-induced Bowel Dysfunction.
NCT01781975
Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) results from the autoimmune destruction of insulin-producing ß cells. Although exogenous insulin is widely available, it is not possible for affected individuals to consistently achieve euglycemia with current technology, and thus they are at risk for devastating long-term complications. This phase II study is designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of imatinib mesylate as a novel therapy for new-onset T1DM. Imatinib is a first-in-class tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This study will explore the potential role of short-term therapy with imatinib to induce tolerance and possibly lead to a durable long-term remission of T1DM.
NCT01791153
This multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of tocilizumab in participants with GCA. The study will consist of 2 parts: a 52-week double-blind treatment period (Part 1) followed by a 104-week open label long-term follow-up period (Part 2). In Part 1 of the study eligible participants will be randomized to receive either tocilizumab every week (qw) or every 2 weeks (q2w) or placebo for 52 weeks, with tapering oral daily doses of prednisone. After Week 52, participants in remission will stop study treatment and enter long-term follow-up, whereas participants with disease activity or flares will receive open-label tocilizumab or other treatment at the discretion of the investigator for a maximum period of 104 weeks.
NCT03125460
The objective of this study is to establish the performance characteristics of an assay that detects the recurrence of bladder cancer in patients previously diagnosed with bladder cancer. The study is conducted at locations within and outside of the United States. Testing is performed on urine specimens provided by eligible enrolled patients. Results from this study will not be used for patient management decisions.
NCT01742208
This Phase 2 study was intended to assess the pharmacodynamics (PD), pharmacokinetics (PK), safety and efficacy of sotagliflozin following daily oral administration for 29 days in participants with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).
NCT03306420
This is a Phase I, open-label study to determine the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), and preliminary antitumor activity of MS201408-0005A as single agent (Part IA only) and in combination with MS201408-0005C or MS201408-0005B (Part IB, Part IC).
NCT02989415
The aim of this study is to assess the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation during general anesthesia for robotic surgery, to characterize current practices of mechanical ventilation and to evaluate a possible association between ventilatory parameters and postoperative pulmonary complications.
NCT02429167
The purpose of this study is to determine if clinic and home training with a study device will improve a balance deficit. The study device is called Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNS). The study device will be placed on the tongue to deliver nerve stimulation. The study is testing if use of the study device in conjunction with physical therapy will improve balance and gait in patients suffering from a TBI. The effects of using the device and undergoing therapy will be measured using standardized tests of movement control, gait, headache and other TBI symptoms.
