NCT00006366
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known which regimen of radiation therapy plus chemotherapy is more effective for rectal cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to compare two regimens of radiation therapy plus chemotherapy followed by surgery in treating patients who have locally advanced cancer of the rectum.
NCT02175082
The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of a forced exercise aerobic exercise program, utilizing a cycling activity, on specific gait parameters and balance in individuals with Parkinson's Disease (PD). Design: pilot, feasibility, randomized control, evaluator blinded. Subjects: Twenty four patients with idiopathic PD Hoehn and Yahr (H\&Y) stage II or III. Intervention: Participants randomly assigned to one of two exercise groups, forced exercise or self selected exercise, on cycling machine three times a week for 8 weeks. Both groups to exercise at same aerobic intensity level to keep heart rate at 60-80% heart rate max. Outcomes: Gait parameters of step length, width, and variability as measured by the GAITRite; 6 Minute Walk Test; mini-BESTest (balance testing); exercise tolerance via Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) scale.
NCT00003930
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy and surgery may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy plus combination chemotherapy in treating patients who have stage II or stage III bladder cancer that can be removed by surgery.
NCT00811499
This is a Phase 2 study, involving a 12-week treatment period, designed to evaluate the effectiveness of investigational study drug ARRY-371797 (versus placebo) in treating ankylosing spondylitis, and to further evaluate the drug's safety. Approximately 130 patients from the US, Canada, Poland and Hungary will be enrolled in this study.
NCT03871400
A prospective, multi-center, randomized, self-controlled, single-blinded, clinical study evaluating the NanoMetalene implant as compared to the PEEK and allograft implants in ACDF for the treatment of cervical degenerative disc disease (DDD).
NCT00004054
RATIONALE: Hormones can stimulate the production of prostate cancer cells. Hormone therapy may fight prostate cancer by reducing the production of androgens. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether hormone therapy plus radiation therapy is more effective with or without combination chemotherapy for prostate cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of hormone therapy plus radiation therapy with or without combination chemotherapy in treating patients who have prostate cancer.
NCT01362179
This is an observational study of unstimulated bone marrow (BM) and filgrastim-mobilized peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) donors. The primary goal is to evaluate the hypothesis that the incidence of targeted malignant, thrombotic and autoimmune disorders after unrelated hematopoietic stem cell donation are similar between unstimulated BM and filgrastim-mobilized PBSC donors.
NCT00006360
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy in treating patients who have stage II or stage III oropharyngeal cancer.
NCT00033280
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining chemotherapy and radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining temozolomide with radiation therapy in treating patients who have newly diagnosed anaplastic oligodendrogliomas or mixed anaplastic oligoastrocytomas.
NCT00221403
The primary aim of this proposal is to conduct a preliminary controlled trial of valproate and risperidone in children ages 3-7 yr. with bipolar disorders. A secondary aim is to carefully characterize these subjects using clinical rating scales and develop pilot data on a very young cohort of children with bipolar disorders that can be used to support an application to NIMH for a prospective, longitudinal study that will provide important information about the course, medication response, neurobiology and outcome of these patients.
NCT03423173
The purpose of this study is to investigate lot-to-lot consistency in terms of equivalence of the immune responses induced by 3 consecutive TDV lots in healthy participants aged 18 to 60 years in non-endemic country(ies) for dengue.
NCT01806064
Phase 1b: To evaluate safety and tolerability and determine a recommended phase 2 dose for TRC105 when added to standard dose axitinib in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma. Phase 2: To estimate the PFS of patients with advanced or metastatic RCC by RECIST 1.1 criteria in patients treated with axitinib and TRC105 compared to those treated with axitinib alone, following failure of one prior VEGF TKI
NCT02351466
The investigators have previously studied a group of young children with T1D using brain MRI, age-appropriate neurocognitive testing and continuous glucose monitoring, followed for 18 months. The investigators observed significant differences in gray matter volumes and white matter microstructure in the children with diabetes as compared to controls. These differences appeared to increase over time, with slower rates of brain growth in the T1D group (Mazelli, et al, Diabetes 2014; Barnea-Goraly, et al, Diabetes Care 2014; Mauras, et al, Diabetes 2015). In this new protocol the investigators will include the same children with T1D and healthy controls previously studied and recruit new similar subjects to replace those lost by attrition. The investigators will be using structural and functional brain MRI, neurocognitive testing and measures of glycemic control, to determine if changes in the brain persist or worsen over longitudinal follow up, and whether these changes are associated with measures of glycemic control and neurocognitive metrics as these children grow and progress through puberty.
NCT03596723
This study is designed to assess how KPI-121 1% compares to prednisolone acetate in reducing inflammation after cataract surgery in young children. Approximately half the participants will receive KPI-121 1% eye drops and the other half will receive prednisolone acetate.

The purpose of this study is assess the safety and efficacy of Acutrak headless screws in comparison to other fixation methods (traditional headed screws, plates, and wires) used in the treatment of medial malleolus fracture of the ankle joint. The investigators hope to learn the following objectives from this study 1. Prospectively establish equivalence with respect to fracture union rate after Acutrak headless compression screw fixation when compared to other fixation methods for medial malleolus fractures. 2. Prospectively establish equivalence with respect Patient Reported Outcome Measurement Information System (PROMIS) scores after Acutrak headless compression screw fixation when compared to other fixation methods for medial malleolus fractures. 3. Prospectively establish superiority with respect to hardware related pain after Acutrak headless compression screw fixation when compared to other fixation methods for medial malleolus fractures. 4. Prospectively establish superiority with respect to the hardware removal rate after Acutrak headless compression screw fixation when compared to other fixation methods for medial malleolus fractures. Patients scheduled for open reduction and internal fixation for medial malleolus fracture by using Acutrak headless screw or any other method will be asked to enroll by the attending physician, and those patients will be asked to consent to the study. Patients will be randomized by sealed envelope to surgical fixation with traditional headed screws, plates, and wires or Acutrak headless compression screws. At the time of randomization, the fracture pattern and severity, past medical history and medications, and demographic data will be documented. After operative fixation, patients will receive routine fracture follow-up with a clinical evaluation for tenderness, radiographs to evaluate stability and union, and complete the PROMIS and Visual Analogue Pain Scale (VAS) scores to 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years after surgical fixation
