NCT01829464
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of TAK-875 (fasiglifam) in combination with sitagliptin on glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
NCT01898286
This is an extension study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of long-term treatment with DiaPep277® and to determine the long-term treatment effect of DiaPep277® on parameters of metabolic control and on preservation of beta-cell function in subjects who have long exposure to DiaPep277®.
NCT01305408
The primary objective of the study is to determine whether armodafinil treatment, at a dosage of 150 mg/day, is more effective than placebo treatment as adjunctive therapy to mood stabilizers for treatment of adults with major depression associated with bipolar I disorder.
NCT01103284
This study will look at the treatment effect of DiaPep277 on preservation of beta-cell function, as defined by meal-stimulated secretion of insulin. DiaPep277 is a peptide that changes the way the immune system behaves, stopping its attack on the beta-cells. Adults (\>20 years) with newly diagnosed (\<6 months) type 1 diabetes will be treated with 10 injections of DiaPep277 or Placebo over a 2-year treatment and follow-up period.
NCT00642902
To evaluate the safety and tolerability of atacicept and to explore if atacicept reduces central nervous system inflammation in subjects with relapsing multiple sclerosis (RMS) as assessed by frequent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This study is randomised. Study medication is administered via subcutaneous (under the skin) injections.
NCT01458951
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tofacitinib (CP-690,550) in patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis who have failed or be intolerant to one of following treatments for ulcerative colitis: oral steroids, azathiopurine/6-mercaptopurine, or anti-TNF-alpha therapy.
NCT00271375
This project implemented and evaluated the Rosalyn Carter Institute's (RCI's) educational and support program for caregivers, "Caring for You, Caring for Me." Specifically, it examined effects of the program upon family caregivers to older adults in the Atlanta area and elderly Veterans receiving outpatient primary care at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).
NCT01960686
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the immunogenicity and safety of multiple formulations of an RSV-F protein nanoparticle vaccine, with aluminum, in healthy women of child-bearing age.
NCT00193180
This trial evaluates the novel combination of docetaxel with imatinib as first or second line therapy in advanced breast cancer with the aim of achieving higher effectiveness and potentially reducing side effects.
NCT01363440
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of Intravitreal Aflibercept Injection (IAI; EYLEA®; BAY86-5321) on the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) assessed by the early treatment diabetic retinopathy study (ETDRS) chart in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) with central involvement.
NCT00993382
The Primary objective was to assess the efficacy of Celivarone for the prevention of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) interventions or death. Secondary objectives were: * To assess the tolerability and safety of the different dose regimens of Celivarone in the selected population. * To document Celivarone plasma levels during the study.
NCT01599949
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ibrutinib in patients with mantle cell lymphoma who received at least 1 prior rituximab-containing chemotherapy regimen and who progressed after bortezomib therapy.
NCT00717249
This study compares the performance of an investigational contact lens to a currently marketed lens.
NCT02188173
This is a study of OZURDEX® use in clinical practice in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME).
NCT00216060
Risedronate is an orally administered pyridinyl bisphosphonate that is 36 times more potent than pamidronate and 72 times more potent than clodronate. Four randomized, double-blind trials have been carried out in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis. In 2 of these studies, vertebral fracture incidence was reduced by a daily dose of 5 mg risedronate by up to 65% and 49% relative to placebo after 1 and 3 years, respectively. In these trials, risedronate improved lumbar spine, femoral neck, and femoral trochanter bone mineral density (BMD) at 6 months. In addition, preclinical studies have shown that risedronate is more potent than pamidronate and clodronate in inhibiting adhesion of prostate cancer cells to bone and preventing tumor cell invasion. The incidence of osteoporosis in prostate cancer patients has been well established; therefore, it is advantageous to assess the efficacy of oral bisphosphonate therapy.
NCT00754325
The purpose of this study is to find out what effect the combination of fulvestrant (Faslodex) and dasatinib (Sprycel) has on advanced breast cancer compared to fulvestrant alone.
NCT01020838
To determine the sensitivity and specificity of the visual assessment of tracer uptake in the Florbetaben PET images compared to histological verification of the presence or absence of cerebral β-amyloid in the respective histopathologic post mortem specimens as the standard of truth
NCT00464061
The purpose of this study is to assess efficacy and safety of volinanserin in the population of patients complaining of sleep maintenance insomnia. The objective of the substudy is to assess glycemic control in the subgroup of patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
NCT00175526
At present, the management of pre-eclampsia is guided by expert opinions that are not well-based on firm evidence. What is required is a clinical tool that can accurately determine a women's risk for adverse outcomes, and thereby reduce the risk for women while safely prolonging pregnancies remote from term (to improve fetal outcomes). This research project, 'a severity score for pre-eclampsia,' will develop such a clinical tool that is specific to the condition. This severity score will be used clinically (to guide management) and in research (in both clinical trials and basic science research), and will provide an evidence base on which to build future practice, improving outcomes for pregnant women and their babies. In addition, this project is part of a three part strategy to better understand the mechanisms of disease in pre-eclampsia and to investigate a potential disease-modifying therapy, namely, recombinant human activated protein C.
NCT00400478
This is a randomized, open label, phase III study to evaluate the ability of rituximab maintenance therapy to prolong event-free survival in aggressive NHL. Patients will be screened after successful standard induction therapy (CR or Cru following standard R-CHOP-like therapy with 8 infusions of rituximab plus CHOP-like chemotherapy (4-8 cycles). Patients will be followed until an event occurs as defined in the protocol. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of rituximab maintenance therapy as compared to observation in patients with aggressive B-cell Non-Hodgkins lymphoma or follicular lymphoma grade 3b who have achieved a complete remission after appropriate first-line therapy, measured by event-free survival (EFS), 440 patients with DLCBL or follicular NHL grade 3 (220 per arm) will be recruited.
