NCT01406938
This study will assess the safety and efficacy of two different doses and two different dose regimens of subcutaneous secukinumab in patients that have moderate to severe, chronic, plaque-type psoriasis.
NCT01158703
The design of the study will be randomized, double blind trial, which will examine the effects of addition of clopidogrel to current guideline recommended background therapy on lowering the incidence of graft stenosis after coronary artery bypass grafting compared to placebo.
NCT01473589
The purpose of this study is to see whether teriparatide, given for 6 months versus placebo, will improve the healing of hip (femoral neck) fractures that are repaired during surgery using certain types of orthopedic screws. The study will enroll men and postmenopausal women at least 50 years of age with a recent hip (femoral neck) fracture caused by low-trauma (for example, fall from standing height or less).
NCT00117650
The purpose of this Phase 2 clinical research study is to examine the safety of an experimental gene transfer agent, Ad2/HIF-1α/VP16, and its ability to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels from existing blood vessels (a process called angiogenesis) in an attempt to improve the flow of blood in the legs of patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Specifically, this study will enroll patients with severe intermittent claudication (IC) which is the stage of PAD in which a patient's walking ability is severely limited, causing pain in the legs upon exercise due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles of the lower limbs.
NCT00476710
This project will compare the amount of bile acids and their kinetics in overweight and obese people with normal glucose metabolism, impaired glucose tolerance and frank type 2 diabetes. We hypothesize that bile acids will behave differently in these groups. We will also explore the effects of Colesevelam HCl, a medicine that lowers LDL cholesterol by binding bile acids, on bile acids in those groups. We hypothesize the drug may have different actions on bile acids in subjects with different degrees of abnormal glucose metabolism.
NCT00877032
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and tolerability of RN6G in patients with dry, age-related macular degeneration.
NCT00831844
This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well cixutumumab works in treating patients with relapsed or refractory solid tumors. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cixutumumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them.
NCT00989313
This study is designed to follow up patients, who have participated in the PEP005-028 study and observed complete clearance of their Actinic Keratosis (AK) lesions, over a 12 month period to assess both recurrence of AK lesions and long term safety in the selected treatment area.
NCT00345176
Oral supplementation with the Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) formulation (antioxidant vitamins C and E, beta carotene, and zinc) has been shown to reduce the risk of progression to advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Observational data suggest that increased dietary intake of lutein + zeaxanthin (carotenoids), omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (docosahexaenoic acid \[DHA\] + eicosapentaenoic acid \[EPA\]), or both might further reduce this risk. AREDS2 was designed to test whether adding lutein + zeaxanthin, DHA + EPA, or lutein + zeaxanthin and DHA + EPA to the AREDS formulation might further reduce the risk of progression to advanced AMD. A secondary goal was to test the effects of eliminating beta carotene and reducing zinc dose in the AREDS formulation.
NCT00916006
This Phase III study is designed to assess the efficacy and safety of PEP005 Gel, 0.015% when applied to an area of skin containing 4-8 AK lesions on the face or scalp.
NCT00938860
This study will assess the rates of Sustained Virological Response following anti-viral therapy with Peg-Interferon plus Ribavirin in patients that have been liver transplanted with recurrent Hepatitis C and treated with Neoral or tacrolimus.
NCT00634426
The aim of this trial is to evaluate the differences in pain relief, neurological function, quality of life and survival in patients with metastatic epidural spinal cord compression (MESCC) who are managed with a combination of surgery and radiotherapy versus radiotherapy alone. Further we shall evaluate cost-effectiveness of the two treatment approaches.
NCT00283400
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the tolerability and safety of 25 percent human albumin therapy in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage.
NCT00444925
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of fesoterodine in comparison to tolterodine and placebo for overactive bladder
NCT00794976
The objective of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of a dexamethasone iontophoretic transdermal patch for the treatment of pain associated with lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).
NCT00547521
To evaluate safety and immunogenicity of abatacept when used with or without methotrexate in the absence of an IV loading dose of abatacept
NCT00463021
Protocol HECT00306 aims to determine clinically appropriate doses of Hectorol (doxercalciferol capsules) when converting from Zemplar (paricalcitol injection) for the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in Stage 5 chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis.
NCT00917306
The open label study is designed to assess the safety and efficacy of 0.05% PEP005 Gel when applied to an area of skin containing 4-8 AK lesions on non-head locations.
NCT02075138
Grass pollen allergens are universally recognised as a major cause of allergic diseases in humans, including asthma, allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis and dermatitis. The purpose of the current study is to evaluate allergy symptoms and allergy medication in subjects with grass-related rhinoconjunctivitis.
NCT00422383
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of various treatment and retreatment regimens of MabThera. All patients will receive concomitant methotrexate, 10-25mg once weekly either orally or parenterally. The anticipated time on study treatment is 2+ years, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
