The primary objective is to histologically evaluate and compare the healing of extraction sockets of non-molar teeth grafted with cortical FDBA versus cancellous FDBA for ridge preservation.
NCT01539538
The study is intended to show that the Sufentanil NanoTab PCA System is as effective as morphine intravenous patient-controlled analgesia (IV PCA) for treating pain after surgery. Each patient will use either the Sufentanil NanoTab PCA System or morphine IV PCA to treat their pain for at least 48 hours and up to 72 hours after surgery while in the hospital.
NCT00298272
The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the tolerability and safety of rituximab in combination with methotrexate (MTX) and etanercept or adalimumab in participants with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The secondary objective was to explore the efficacy of rituximab in combination with MTX and etanercept or adalimumab in participants with active RA.
NCT02290639
A significant number of veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are affected by posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The limited reach of effective treatments for PTSD into the veteran population is at least partially due to the perceived stigma by service members for seeking help in traditional specialty mental health clinics. A comprehensive approach to PTSD treatment in a veteran population should provide alternative sources for accessing effective psychotherapy treatments. The purpose of study is to conduct a randomized clinical trial comparing a brief (four 30-minute sessions delivered over 6 weeks) cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) protocol designed specifically for use by behavioral health consultants working in an integrated primary care setting to a minimal contact 6-week control. The primary outcome measure is PTSD symptom relief.
NCT00003417
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Computer systems that allow doctors to create a 3-dimensional picture of the tumor in order to plan treatment may result in more effective radiation therapy. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy that has been planned with a computer plus chemotherapy in treating patients who have glioblastoma multiforme.
NCT00003139
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs such as pilocarpine may protect normal cells from the side effects of radiation therapy. It is not yet known if pilocarpine may be effective in preventing mucositis and dry mouth in patients receiving radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized, double-blinded, phase III trial to study the effectiveness of pilocarpine in preventing mucositis and dry mouth in patients receiving radiation therapy for head and neck cancer.
NCT01981473
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between anti-drug antibodies, serum drug concentrations, and clinical response for rheumatoid arthritis patients being treated with etanercept, adalimumab or infliximab.
NCT00605735
The purpose of this study is to find out if 300 mg of BMS-582949 given once daily will be more effective than placebo after 12 weeks of treatment in subjects with rheumatoid arthritis who are also taking methotrexate
NCT00075868
RATIONALE: Octreotide may be effective in preventing or controlling diarrhea in patients who are undergoing chemoradiotherapy for anal or rectal cancer. It is not yet known whether octreotide is effective in treating diarrhea. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying octreotide in preventing or reducing diarrhea in patients who are undergoing chemoradiotherapy for anal or rectal cancer.
NCT00659893
Study Hypothesis: Safety and Tolerability will differ when treating multiple contiguous 25 cm2 treatment areas, as compared to individual 25 cm2 treatment areas.
NCT00110357
The purpose of this clinical research study is to establish the maximum tolerated dose and recommended Phase II dose of Erbitux™ in combination with Irinotecan in pediatric and adolescent patients with refractory solid tumors.
NCT02272465
The Prehospital Resuscitation On Helicopter Study (PROHS) is a pragmatic, multicenter, prospective observational study of air ambulance-based prehospital resuscitation regimens currently utilized at the participating sites. Patients will be enrolled at participating sites that currently have blood products available on air ambulances and other sites that do not. This study will not change the current prehospital standard of care for resuscitation. The primary outcome will be in-hospital mortality and the primary unit of analysis will be the patient. Other outcomes of interest will include time to hemostasis, hospital length-of-stay, number of ventilator-free and ICU-free days, incidence of major surgical procedures, complications (transfusion-related acute lung injury \[TRALI\], acute kidney injury \[AKI\], multiple organ failure \[MOF\], acute respiratory distress syndrome \[ARDS\], sepsis, intra-abdominal complications, thromboembolic complications, compartment syndromes), lifesaving interventions, the amount and type of blood products and concentrates transfused (including prehospital), wastage of prehospital blood products and concentrates, use of external and internal hemostatic devices, and functional status at discharge/discharge destination.
NCT01922089
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of initiating LCZ696 in heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction (HF-rEF) using conservative (reaching target dose over 6 weeks) and condensed (reaching target dose over 3 weeks) up-titration regimens.
NCT02113124
Years after a suffering a brain injury, individuals remain in a physically and cognitively impaired state. The investigators believe that the concentrations of amino acids in the blood are chronically altered and yield negative effects on the individuals health. Preliminary data has shown significantly lower concentrations of amino acids in serum samples from the TBI population, these diminished levels of amino acids may be due to changes in the microbiome. Understanding these changes will help guide rehabilitative services for this population. Individuals with a chronic brain injury will donate samples of blood, oral tissue, and fecal matter to be compared to that of non-injured individuals. Genetic information from the hosts will be striped and discarded; participant's genetic information will not be retained. To better understand changes in the microbiome, any history of antibiotics and probiotics will be assessed.
NCT01254357
