NCT01194414
This randomized, double-blind, parallel group study compares the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous (sc) versus intravenous (iv) administration of tocilizumab in participants with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis. Participants were randomized to receive either tocilizumab 162 mg sc weekly plus iv placebo every 4 weeks, or tocilizumab 8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks plus sc placebo weekly during the double-blind period from baseline to Week 24. The double-blind period was followed by a 72-week open-label treatment with some switching of sc and iv administration. No placebo was administered in the open-label phase. Participants continued on their stable dose of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) throughout the study. Anticipated time on study treatment was 2 years.
NCT01155258
RATIONALE: Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vinorelbine ditartrate, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving temsirolimus together with vinorelbine ditartrate may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of giving temsirolimus and vinorelbine ditartrate together in treating patients with unresectable or metastatic solid tumors.
NCT00583648
The implementation of nursing urinanlysis protocols based off of symptoms of urinary infections will significantly decrease the length of a patient's stay in the Emergency Department.
NCT01521728
The first questions asked by patients with a new diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) often include: "Does exercise help slow the progression of the disease?", "Is there any harm in exercising?", or "What type of exercise (endurance or resistance) is most appropriate?" At this time, however, there is a lack of answers for people who suffer from an illness that affects their strength above all else. Yet the beneficial effects of exercise in both healthy people as well as people with other diseases have been extensively studied and resulted in recommendations about the types of exercise that are beneficial. In this study the investigators will ask participants with ALS to exercise in one of three ways: weightlifting (resistance exercise), stationary bicycling (endurance exercise), and range of motion exercise (the current "standard of care" for ALS patients). The investigators will use several different types of tests to determine whether one type of exercise is tolerated better and is safer than another. The investigators will also collect information about how the body responds to exercise in ALS. This study will help in the development of a larger national study to understand how exercise can be combined with other treatments to potentially improve strength and alter the course of the disease.
NCT02283320
BIND-014 (docetaxel nanoparticles for injectable suspension) is being studied in patients with v-Ki-ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) mutation positive or squamous cell non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have progressed after treatment of one prior platinum-containing chemotherapy regimen.
NCT02467634
A fellow eye controlled study of HUCNS-SC sub-retinal transplantation in subjects with bilateral GA AMD. All subjects will be assigned to HUCNS-SC transplantation.
NCT02798640
The study will evaluate changes in transcutaneous oxygen tension (tcPO2,), and the inferred change in local cutaneous blood flow, in healthy subjects wearing a control and a 100% Celliant® fiber upper torso garment.
NCT01076569
This pilot research trial studies biomarkers in bone marrow samples from pediatric patients with high risk acute myeloid leukemia. Studying samples of bone marrow from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors identify and learn more about biomarkers related to cancer.
NCT01407744
This research trial studies tumor samples from patients with ependymoma treated on the Children Oncology Group ACNS0121 trial. Studying samples of tumor tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors find better ways to treat cancer.
NCT00898053
This laboratory study is looking at tumor samples from patients with Ewing sarcoma. Studying samples of tumor tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer
NCT01458951
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tofacitinib (CP-690,550) in patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis who have failed or be intolerant to one of following treatments for ulcerative colitis: oral steroids, azathiopurine/6-mercaptopurine, or anti-TNF-alpha therapy.
NCT01211145
The purpose of this study is to investigate if Zomig® Nasal Spray will help children (age 12-17 years) with migraine headaches feel better. This will be done by comparing 3 different doses of Zomig Nasal Spray with placebo nasal spray (inactive treatment).
NCT00488631
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of golimumab administered subcutaneously (under the skin) injections in maintenance therapy.
NCT01120275
This phase II trial is studying how well gamma-secretase/Notch signalling pathway inhibitor RO4929097 works in treating patients with stage IV melanoma. Gamma-secretase/Notch signalling pathway inhibitor RO4929097 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
NCT02755987
This is an expanded access study with ANG1005 treatment for two individual patients from Protocol ANG1005-CLN-03 with WHO Grade III Anaplastic Astrocytoma and WHO Grade III Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma and one individual patient from Protocol ANG1005-CLN-04 with Recurrent Brain Metastases and Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis.
NCT01495169
Tolerability, undertstanding of the action of the drug in the body, and understanding the effect of the drug in adolescent patients needing treatment with an antipsychotic medication
NCT00729846
To evaluate safety, visual acuity outcomes, persistence of choroidal neovascular leakage, and the number of treatments of combination intravitreal bevacizumab and verteporfin photodynamic therapy at standard or reduced fluence level in patients with subfoveal CNV due to age-related macular degeneration.
NCT01278173
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the change in visual fields by means of automated static perimetry and to evaluate the change in retinal structure by means of spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) in adult patients with refractory complex partial seizures (CPS) being treated with vigabatrin (Sabril®)
NCT02174263
This phase II trial studies how well tocilizumab works in treating chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in patients that have not responded to treatment after at least two prior therapies. Tocilizumab blocks a protein that stimulates the body's immune system. By blocking this protein, the investigators may reduce the symptoms of chronic GVHD.
NCT01318941
This study will describe the long-term safety and effectiveness, treatment patterns, and patient reported quality of life associated with ranibizumab treatment in routine clinical practice for all approved indication included in the local product label.
