NCT01185288
This study will investigate the efficacy of both low and high doses of methotrexate (MTX) in combination with open-label adalimumab (ADA) in patients who have had an inadequate response to high dose of MTX. The study will also evaluate the pharmacokinetics and safety of the two regimens of MTX in combination with ADA in participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
NCT01626235
Study aims to assess patient-recorded outcomes of pain control medications prescribed in the ER after visits for specific painful injuries/illnesses.
NCT01589718
The purpose of this study is to assess whether preoperative pegaptanib sodium safely improves vitreous hemorrhage prior to surgical intervention and to evaluate the stability of pre-existing tractional retinal detachment.
NCT00028795
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Giving chemotherapy together with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving chemotherapy together with radiation therapy after surgery followed by chemotherapy alone works in children with newly diagnosed astrocytoma, glioblastoma multiforme, gliosarcoma, or diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
NCT00257010
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety of almotriptan malate (a migraine headache medication) in the treatment of migraine headaches in adolescents for up to one year.
NCT00458731
This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of bevacizumab and cediranib maleate in treating patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumor, lymphoma, intracranial glioblastoma, gliosarcoma or anaplastic astrocytoma. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Cediranib maleate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Bevacizumab and cediranib maleate may also stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Giving bevacizumab together with cediranib maleate may kill more cancer cells.
NCT00487539
The purpose of this study is to assess the effects (good and bad) of golimumab (CNTO 148) therapy in participants with ulcerative colitis (UC).
NCT00002485
RATIONALE: Taking part in a clinical trial may help children with cancer receive more effective treatment. PURPOSE: Determine why patients who are eligible for protocols made available through the Pediatric Oncology Group do not enroll in them, and develop strategies to increase enrollment on these clinical trials.
NCT00951938
The purpose of this study is to utilize Trinity Evolution in conjunction with an interbody spacer and supplemental anterior fixation of the surgeon's choice and to follow the patients to measure the clinical outcomes and rate of fusion. The hypothesis of the study is that Trinity Evolution combined with an interbody spacer and supplemental anterior fixation will result in fusion rates and clinical outcomes similar to those with other routinely used autograft and allograft materials including: fusion, improvement in pain and function, maintenance of upper extremity neurological function, and absence of serious adverse events related to the use of the Trinity Evolution product.
NCT00968851
This study is being conducted to determine the safety and effect on cognitive function of two different doses of an investigational medication, EVP-6124, in individuals with schizophrenia who are on chronic stable atypical anti-psychotic therapy. In addition, behavioral and psychotic symptoms will be evaluated.
NCT00902200
Double-masked, randomized, multi-center, placebo-controlled parallel-comparison of AR-12286.
NCT01002950
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the investigational drug ACU-4429 in subjects with geographic atrophy.
NCT01565551
The global aim of this proposal is to test and refine Common Data Elements (CDEs), neuroimaging standards, and best practices for genetics and proteomics in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) studies. Testing and validating of TBI-CDEs will be performed in a multi-center prospective observational study with 3 TBI Centers (San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH), University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), University Medical Center Brackenridge (UMCB)) and a TBI Rehabilitation Center (Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Center (MSMC)). The investigators will create and expand existing data repositories for patient demographics, neuroimaging, plasma biomarkers, genetics, and multivariate outcomes thereby providing researchers and clinicians with the infrastructure to establish multidisciplinary, multicenter research networks and improve clinical research in the TBI field.
NCT01338766
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical performance of a decompression using the FDA cleared iO-Flex® System on-label in treating patients with spinal stenosis and stable grade I degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis using a precision estimate assuming a 55% positive response rate.
NCT00003141
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctors to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating infants with malignant brain or spinal cord tumors.
NCT01073228
This study is being conducted to determine the safety and effect on cognitive function of the investigational medication, EVP-6124, in individuals with mild to moderate probable Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00991939
This study will compare treatment with 3 courses of high-dose dexamethasone versus treatment with prednisone, for patients recently diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). The primary hypothesis is that patients treated with high-dose dexamethasone will obtain a more durable remission than patients treated with prednisone.
NCT00514579
The hypothesis of the study is double unit umbilical cord blood transplantation in adults will be associated with a one year survival rate of at least 40%.
NCT00244140
This is a research study involving the use of a contrast agent called Ultravist Injection. Ultravist, the study drug, is used to improve the pictures obtained using computed tomography (CT). Ultravist acts like a dye to make CT pictures brighter and easier to read. In the case of this study, it will be injected into a vein in the patient's arm; from there, it travels through the blood stream and to the areas to be examined. CT scans will then be taken of the patient's head and/or body as ordered by his/her physician. Phase IIIb Study to Document the Safety and Efficacy of Ultravist 370 mg I/ml, When Administered Intravenously, in Volumes up to 162.2 ml, for Clinically Indicated Contrast Enhanced Computed Tomography (CECT) of the Head and/or Body
NCT01509807
This study is designed to compare the standard of care against EXPAREL (bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension) to determine if total opioid consumption is reduced when using EXPAREL, therefore possibly reducing total hospitalization costs.
