NCT00389675
This is a double-blind, active-controlled, long-term study of a new experimental drug called darusentan. Darusentan in not currently approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which means that a doctor cannot prescribe this drug. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety of darusentan (optimized dose) as compared to an active control, administered orally.
NCT00370214
The REVEAL Registry™ is a multicenter, observational, U.S.-based study of the clinical course and disease management of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) patients. All consecutive consenting patients diagnosed with WHO Group I PAH according to specific hemodynamic criteria at participating institutions will be enrolled. Participating patients will be followed for a minimum of five years from the time of enrollment.
NCT00723554
A Phase IIIb, Multicenter, Open-Label Study of Patients With Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Treated With Iloprost(Inhalation)Evaluating Safety and Inhalation Times When Converting From Power Disc-6 to Power Disc-15 With the I-neb® Adaptive Aerosol Delivery® System (I-neb® AAD®)
NCT00617305
To evaluate the change from baseline in pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), and other hemodynamic parameters, following the addition of ambrisentan to background phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitor (PDE-5i) therapy in subjects with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) who have demonstrated a sub-optimal response to PDE-5i monotherapy. The study was originally designed as a 2-arm, double-blind, randomized study in which patients received ambrisentan or placebo for 24 weeks, and then received ambrisentan blinded to dose for 24 weeks. With Protocol Amendment 2 (12 June, 2009), the study was switched to single-arm, open-label treatment, and all patients remaining in the placebo arm were switched to open-label ambrisentan treatment. Patients who enrolled after Amendment 2 all received open-label ambrisentan.
NCT00522925
The purpose of the study is to see if PS433540 lowers blood pressure better than placebo and to see how safe PS433540 is compared to placebo.
NCT01123785
The purpose of this study is to evaluate how tolerable, safe, and effective it is to give INO-8875 eye drops to adults with glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
NCT00744237
This study will evaluate the effects of nebivolol on glycemic control compared with metoprolol and HCTZ in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus
NCT00696436
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of azilsartan medoxomil, once daily (QD), compared to placebo, valsartan and olmesartan in participants with essential hypertension.
NCT00818883
The purpose of this study is to compare the antihypertensive effect of chlorthalidone vs hydrochlorothiazide when each is used with azilsartan medoxomil, once daily (QD), in participants with moderate to severe essential hypertension.
NCT00809848
The study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of AGN-210669 ophthalmic solution in comparison with AGN-210669 vehicle and bimatoprost ophthalmic solution dosed once-daily each morning, in subjects with ocular hypertension or primary open-angle glaucoma. Subjects will be followed for 2 weeks.
NCT01668524
This single-site, dose-escalation study will evaluate safety and tolerability of increasing concentrations of ATS907 in 12 subjects with Primary Open Angle Glaucoma and/or Ocular Hypertension
NCT01043627
Assess tolerability, transition methods and clinical effects of transition from sildenafil (Revatio) to tadalafil (Adcirca) for treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.
NCT00847626
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety of azilsartan medoxomil combined with chlorthalidone, once daily (QD), in participants with moderate to severe hypertension.
NCT00274638
To demonstrate that Telmisartan combined with Hydrochlorothiazide (MICARDIS® HCT) is superior to Losartan with Hydrochlorothiazide (Hyzaar®) in lowering blood pressure in mild-moderate hypertensives.
NCT00695955
This purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of azilsartan medoxomil in individuals with essential hypertension.
NCT01670266
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of 3 planned doses of ONO-9054 in the eyes of adult male and female patients with ocular hypertension (OHT) or mild open angle-glaucoma (OAG). The secondary objectives are to evaluate Pharmacodynamics (PD) and to characterize the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of ONO-9054 and its metabolite in plasma and to compare its tolerability following morning and evening dosing.
NCT00059306
The goal of this study is to learn if combination antiplatelet therapy (aspirin and clopidogrel) is more effective than aspirin alone for the prevention of recurrent stroke and cognitive decline, and if intensive blood pressure control is associated with fewer recurrent strokes and cognitive decline. On July 21, 2011 the DSMB recommended terminating the anti platelet arm of the study due to an imbalance of overall and major non-CNS hemorrhagic SAE's and total deaths in the investigational anti platelet combination of aspirin + clopidogrel and an interim statistical analysis that demonstrated futility in the investigational anti platelet arm. It was recommended that patients be continued on standard care of aspirin mono therapy until their study close-out visit. Also, recommended the continuation and completion of the plood pressure arm following the protocol.
NCT01523067
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of single ascending doses of Vasomera (PB1046) administered subcutaneously in adult subjects with Stage 1 or Stage 2 essential hypertension. The secondary objectives of the study are to characterize the pharmacokinetic profile of single ascending doses of Vasomera and the relationship between serum concentrations of Vasomera and change in systolic and diastolic blood pressure as measured by: * Mean change from baseline in 24-hour systolic and diastolic blood pressure measured by ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) as compared to placebo. * Identification of the minimum and maximum decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure as measured by ABPM. * Mean change from baseline in cuff systolic and diastolic blood pressure as compared to placebo. * Effect of Vasomera on pulse pressure and heart rate. An additional secondary objective of this study will be to characterize the immunogenicity profile of Vasomera following a single subcutaneous dose.
NCT00272961
The study was to determine the safe and effective dose of TBC3711 in patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure while already taking blood pressure medications.
