Clareo is a personal health companion designed to help you better understand and remember what happens in your medical appointments. When you record a visit, Clareo creates a clear, easy-to-understand summary of what was discussed, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and next steps shared by your clinician. It helps you revisit important details, stay organized, and feel more confident about your care.
Open the Clareo app before your appointment and tap "Record." Place your phone nearby, in your pocket, purse, or on the table, and let it capture the conversation. When the visit ends, tap "Stop." Clareo will process the recording and generate your summary within minutes.
Recording laws vary by state. Some states allow recording with the consent of one person in the conversation, while others require consent from everyone involved. We recommend checking your state's laws and informing your healthcare provider before recording.
Protecting your health information is a priority for us. Your recordings and summaries are encrypted in transit and at rest. We use security practices designed to protect sensitive health information. You control who you choose to share your summaries with. We do not share your health information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may use trusted service providers to process data securely on our behalf. Yes. You can securely share your visit summary with a spouse, adult child, or anyone else you choose. This can be especially helpful when coordinating care, managing a complex condition, or keeping loved ones informed.
Clareo explains medical terms in plain language directly within your summary. If your doctor mentions something like "hypertension" or a "CBC panel," you'll see a clear explanation of what it means. If anything is still unclear, you can ask follow-up questions in the app to get additional clarification.
Clareo works well for most medical appointments, including primary care visits, specialist consultations, follow-ups, and telehealth calls. Whether you're discussing a new diagnosis, reviewing test results, or having a routine checkup, Clareo helps you capture and revisit important details.
After your recording is processed and your summary is created, you decide what to keep. You can save both the recording and the summary, or choose to keep only the summary. If you delete something, it is removed from your account and scheduled for deletion from our systems in accordance with our data retention policies.

Yes. Clareo is designed to support caregivers as well as patients. You can attend appointments with your loved one and use Clareo to capture a clear summary of what was discussed. This can make it easier to coordinate care, share updates with family members, and ensure everyone understands the next steps.
Medical appointments often involve complex information delivered quickly. It can be difficult to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and write everything down at the same time. Clareo captures the full conversation and organizes the key points for you. That allows you to stay present during your visit and revisit the details afterward, without relying on memory alone. Clareo does not replace your doctor. It helps you better understand and revisit your clinician's guidance.
No. If you can use a smartphone, you can use Clareo. Open the app, tap "Record," and you're ready. We designed Clareo to be simple because medical visits are already demanding enough.
No. Clareo generates AI-powered summaries of your recorded appointment to help you revisit what was discussed. The summaries are not medical advice and should not replace guidance from your clinician or your official medical records. If you have questions about your diagnosis or treatment, you should speak directly with your healthcare provider.
