The main purpose of this study is to learn how transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) helps improve negative symptoms of schizophrenia. These 'negative symptoms' include anhedonia (the inability to enjoy things), low motivation, and decreased facial expression. TMS is a noninvasive way of stimulating the brain. TMS uses a magnetic field to cause changes in activity in the brain. The magnetic field is produced by a coil that is held next to the scalp. In this study we will be stimulating the brain to learn more about how TMS may improve these symptoms from schizophrenia.

A clinical trial to study the efficacy and safety of an investigational drug in acutely psychotic people with schizophrenia. Participants in the study will either receive the drug being studied or a placebo. This study is accepting male and female participants between 18 -65 years old who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. This study will be conducted in 60 locations world wide. The study will last up to nine (9) weeks.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unlike X-rays and CT-scans does not use radiation to create a picture. MRI use as the name implies, magnetism to create pictures with excellent anatomical resolution. Functional MRIs are diagnostic tests that allow doctors to not only view anatomy, but physiology and function. It is for these reasons that MRIs are excellent methods for studying the brain. In this study, researchers will use MRI to assess brain anatomy and function in X and Y chromosome variation, healthy volunteers, and patients with a variety of childhood onset psychiatric disorders. The disorders include attention deficit disorder, autism, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, childhood-onset schizophrenia, dyslexia, obsessive compulsive disorder, Sydenham's chorea, and Tourette's syndrome. Results of the MRIs showing the anatomy of the brain and brain function will be compared across age, sex (gender), and diagnostic groups. Correlations between brain and behavioral measures will be examined for normal and clinical populations.

FEEL-GOOD is a prospective multi-site single-blinded randomized controlled trial in young inpatients with acute early psychosis. Participants are randomized 1:1 to FEEL-GOOD plus treatment as usual (TAU) or TAU alone. The intervention consists of one individual preparatory session and eight modularized group sessions delivered over four weeks involving four to eight participants at each session and including practice and homework tasks. Outcomes are assessed at baseline, 4 weeks post-intervention, and 6 months follow-up, with the primary outcome being observer-rated total psychopathology as measured with the assessed by the total score of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) post-treatment (4 weeks post baseline).

There are three hypotheses proposed for this study: 1) Participants will report no unanticipated serious adverse events during the eight months of treatment. 2) Investigators will successfully model psychotic versus non-psychotic brain states using support vector machine (SVM) classifiers. 3) Participants specific brain stimulation parameters can induce a change in the brain state consistent with non-psychotic states as measured by classifier output. Hypotheses 1, 2, and 3 address safety and tolerability, efficacy, and the putative mechanism of successful treatment. The overall objective is to use next generation Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) combined with antecedent stereo electroencephalogram (SEEG) mapping to establish a new therapy for treatment-refractory schizophrenia given the limitations of current treatment modalities. The primary objective is to demonstrate safety of acute and chronic network guided stimulation for treatment-refractory schizophrenia. Exploratory Objectives: 1. Use intracranial mapping (SEEG) combined with pharmacological manipulation of psychotic states to create a protocol for participant specific deep brain stimulation to treat treatment-refractory schizophrenia. 2. Develop closed loop stimulation protocols to modify brain states during psychotic brain activity induced by low-dose ketamine administration. 3. Investigate the use of mnemonic similarity to characterize brain networks related to symptoms of treatment-refractory schizophrenia. 4. Treatment-related objectives: Record a reduction in psychotic symptoms, as well as an improvement in psychosocial function and cognition.

This study evaluated whether cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), when added to risperidone treatment, improves cognitive function and serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels in patients with schizophrenia. Participants were adults with stable-phase schizophrenia who were receiving risperidone therapy. They were assigned to either a control group receiving risperidone alone or an intervention group receiving risperidone plus 10 weekly CBT sessions. Cognitive function was assessed using the Indonesian version of the Cognitive Assessment Interview (CAI-Ina). Serum BDNF levels were measured from blood samples using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Measurements were performed at baseline and after 10 weeks. The study was conducted at Rumah Sakit Khusus Daerah Dadi, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The investigators will test the hypothesis that auditory stimulation (playing quiet sounds during sleep) can normalize brain activity during sleep and improve memory in patients with schizophrenia. The investigators will do this by measuring sleep and memory performance under two conditions separated by one week: receiving auditory stimulation during sleep and not receiving auditory stimulation during sleep. The investigators will study healthy subjects and outpatients with schizophrenia.

This project aims to evaluate feasibility, validity and clinically applicability to systematically measure fitness in patients with severe mental illness. The research project is a validation study using a cross-sectional design. The project will include 50 people with severe mental illness and 25 healthy controls without present or previous mental illness. The protocol includes a baseline visit where three different ways of measure fitness will be carried out, and a 14-day period of physical activity monitoring.

The purpose of this study is to use brain imaging technology to investigate the role of the frontal lobe of the brain in the thinking of individuals with schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric disorders and healthy volunteers. Participants in this study will undergo a positron emission tomography (PET) scan of the brain while performing neuropsychological tests. Some of the tests involve cognitive operations that depend upon the frontal cortex. Interactions between frontal lobe activation, cognitive behavior, and neuropharmacology will be assessed by measuring regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) during treatment with drugs that may affect frontal lobe physiology.

The primary purpose of this study to evaluate the effect of a supratherapeutic dose of 80 mg elpipodect on the QT interval corrected for heart rate (QTc interval) and to assess the safety and tolerability of multiple once-daily doses of elpipodect in participants with schizophrenia. The effects of 3 treatment sequences 1) elpipodect (48 mg \[Day 1\] and 80 mg \[Day2\]); 2) standard image placebo (Day 1) and moxifloxacin 400 mg (Day 2); and 3) elpipodect placebo (Day 1 and Day 2) were assessed with 5-day washout intervening sequence. Participants received all treatments in a counter-balanced order according to 1 of 6 possible treatment sequences. The primary hypothesis is that the administration of an 80 mg elpipodect dose on Day 2 does not prolong the QTc interval to a clinically significant degree. Specifically, the true mean difference (elpipodect - placebo) in QTc change from baseline is less than 10 milliseconds (msec).

This will be a randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, multi-site, double-blind trial of elpipodect compared with placebo, using Risperidone as an active control. The participants will be adult subjects experiencing an acute episode of schizophrenia, according to the criteria specified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th ed. (DSM-5). This study will be up to 7 weeks in duration, with up to 7 site visits for each participant. The study will consist of a Screening/tapering period (up to one week long), a 4-week treatment period, and a 14-day follow-up period. The primary objective will be to assess symptoms of schizophrenia at 4 weeks, and to assess safety and tolerability during treatment and post-treatment follow-up. The secondary objective will be to assess the severity of schizophrenia at 4 weeks. The primary hypothesis is that elpipodect is superior to placebo in reducing the overall symptoms of schizophrenia as assessed by the mean change from baseline in the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) total score after 4 weeks of treatment.

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the bioequivalence of aripiprazole for injection (Test product, 400 mg) compared with Abilify Maintena® (Reference product, 400 mg) at steady state in patients with schizophrenia.his is a multi-center, randomized, open-label, two-period, crossover study. Approximately 116 clinically stable patients will be enrolled and randomly assigned to one of two treatment sequences: Sequence A (Test-Reference) or Sequence B (Reference-Test). In each 141-day study period, participants will receive five injections of either the test or reference product at 28-day intervals to achieve steady-state plasma concentrations. Bioequivalence, safety and tolerability of the study drug will be assessed in this study.
