The present study aims to examine the mechanical changes following dry needling of the quadriceps muscle. To this end, structural and mechanical changes in quadriceps muscle activity will be measured using M-mode ultrasound. The quadriceps muscle strength will also be assessed with dynamometry. In addition, the knee joint range will be checked by means of a goniometry procedure. The subjects will be assessed before and after the application of a dry needling technique on the quadriceps muscle to determine possible changes in the measured variables.

Prolonged periods of desk work and static postures in office workers lead to various musculoskeletal issues in both the lower and upper extremities. One such issue is hamstring muscle tightness observed in individuals. Tight hamstring muscles contribute to increased electromyographic muscle activity in the lumbar region, altered lumbopelvic rhythm, and changes in lumbar stabilization, leading to low back pain. The viscoelastic properties of the hamstring muscles play a crucial role in maintaining posture and stabilizing the lumbar region. Insufficient hamstring flexibility or viscoelastic properties can alter pelvic position and result in excessive stress in the lumbar region, thereby increasing the risk of low back pain. It is anticipated that the activation, stabilization, and viscoelasticity of the muscles in the lumbar region will change through static active hamstring stretching exercises, which aim to restore the length-tension relationship in the hamstring muscles. This study aims to investigate the effect of active static hamstring stretching exercises on lumbar muscle activation, stabilization, and viscoelasticity in office workers.

Hamstring muscle flexibility plays a vital role in functional movement and in the prevention of injuries. Reduced flexibility of the hamstring muscles is common and can lead to biomechanical dysfunctions, a limited range of motion, and poor posture. Interventions such as stretching exercises and myofascial release techniques are widely used to improve muscle flexibility. Dynamic stretching, which involves active muscle movements, has been shown to significantly enhance flexibility and may be more effective than static stretching. The use of a foam roller, which is a self-applied myofascial release technique, also improves flexibility and may offer additional benefits by increasing fascial mobility without impairing muscle strength. Peripheral muscle oxygenation reflects a muscle's ability to utilize oxygen and is increasingly used to assess physical performance and fatigue. Although some studies suggest that stretching exercises and foam roller applications may improve peripheral muscle oxygenation, the evidence remains limited. This study aimed to compare the effects of a single session of isolated dynamic stretching and foam roller application on hamstring muscle flexibility and muscle oxygenation. The hypothesis proposed that dynamic stretching would be more effective than foam roller application in enhancing muscle oxygenation, while both interventions would similarly improve muscle flexibility.

Hamstring muscle injuries are common in sports like football and often lead to extended periods of inactivity. This study aims to compare the effects of two different stretching programs on hamstring flexibility, with a secondary focus on jumping performance in young football players. One group will perform a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching protocol combined with neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), while the other group will follow the same PNF protocol with a placebo NMES.

The aim of this study will be to investigate and compare the effects of static stretching exercise, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), and functional IASTM techniques on hamstring muscle shortness, pain threshold, skinfold thickness, and functional muscle strength in sedentary individuals. Fifty-one sedentary individuals between the ages of 18 and 45 who meet the inclusion criteria of Cyprus International University will be included in the study. The first group will receive static stretching exercises two days a week for four weeks; the second group will receive the IASTM technique two days a week for four weeks; and the third group will receive the functional IASTM technique, which will be applied with passive movements two days a week for four weeks. Hamstring shortness, pain threshold, skinfold thickness, and functional muscle strength will be evaluated before the treatment (BT), immediately after the treatment (AT1), two weeks after the treatment (AT2), and four weeks after the treatment (AT4).

The goal of this study is to investigate the effect of intramuscular dry needling (IMDN) on muscle stiffness and pain. Research has suggested that IMDN can reduce muscle stiffness in needled areas. As well, IMDN may reduce mechanical pain sensitivity experienced by individuals. IMDN will be performed at several anatomical locations. Muscle stiffness will be measured with a handheld probe, which measures contact force and displacement of soft tissue. Pressure-pain thresholds (PPT) will be discovered at each region of interest. Stiffness and pressure-pain thresholds will be collected before and after IMDN. The data collected from this research is important to understand the mechanism of IMDN and its relationship to pain.

Background: Basketball is considered a medium-high injury sport, because of the mechanisms of injury, which can be acute, by repetition mechanisms or by overload. An effective way to avoid muscle overload injuries is to perform an extensibility workout such as an analytical active stretching program. The objective of this study is to achieve adherence to a stretching program by motivating young basketball players. Methods: Randomized experimental clinical trial controlled by a single blind person. 21 child players between 11 and 12 years, divided into intervention group (IG) and control group (CG). IG carries out a supervised static stretching program at the end of training 3 days/week for 12 weeks and CG has normally developed the standard stretches of their Basketball Club. The extensibility of various muscle groups was valued in both groups. In addition, motivation was valued by Sport Motivation Scale.

The crossover-effect within resistance- and strength training is more or less confirmed with multiple studies showing similar results. The studies shows an increase in muscle strength within the contralateral extremity being exercised. Regarding muscle length or mobility (flexibility) the crossover-effect have not been studied. For a person to gain an increase in muscle strength mobility training in the form of stretching and flexibility training of our skeletal muscle is a common exercise. However, the evidence are scare and there are only a few studies comparing the effect of prolonged static stretching (\> 90 sec) and dynamic flexibility training as to which of these methods has the best length-enhancing effect over time. The purpose of this study is to compare the crossover-effect of eight weeks of oneleg dynamic flexibility training versus oneleg prolonged static stretching versus a nonstretching controlgroup on mobility in the hamstring muscles in adults with reduced mobility of the hamstring muscle. The aim is also to compare the sustained effect of flexibility training between the two groups, eight weeks after completion of the intervention.

The objective of this randomized control trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of dynamic soft tissue mobilization in comparison with the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (hold-relax) technique in reducing hamstring muscle tightness, pain and improving physical functions in patients with knee osteoarthritis by using Visual Analog Scale-10 cm, Active Knee Extension Angle Test in degree and Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score. This study will be carried out at Sindh Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Dow Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi on the basis of non-probability purposive sample technique with screening for study criteria through a consultant physician (blinded) . After taking informed consent all participants will be randomly allocated into 2 groups i.e. 24 in interventional group 'A' and 24 in interventional group 'B' through second researcher who is not involved in screening, baseline assessment and providing intervention.The interventional group 'A' will received dynamic soft tissue mobilization on hamstring muscle along with cryotherapy on knee joint and isometric strengthening exercises for knee osteoarthritis while the interventional group 'B' will received proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (hold relax) technique on hamstring muscle along with cryotherapy on knee joint and isometric strengthening exercises for knee osteoarthritis. Twelve sessions will be given each of 30 minutes.Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and at last session.

This study will be a randomized clinical trial. the study will be conducted in Mubarak Hospital Sargodha. a sample size of 44 subjects will be taken. subjects will be divided into two groups using the lottery method. group 1 will be treated with Bowen technique along with heating pad and group 2 will be treated with sustained stretching technique along with heating pads thrice a week for 3 weeks. subjects will come after 1 month for follow up. the follow-up will show which technique is more effective in improving hamstring flexibility and range in healthy females. the outcome measures active knee extension test and sit and reach test will be used to check hamstring flexibility and range at baseline, post-treatment, and follow-up. data were analyzed using spss 26.

The primary purpose of this study is to establish if an individualized, impairment-based orthopedic intervention (IOI) can improve pelvic floor function and pain in women with Chronic Pelvic Pain (CPP). Dry needling will be used as a part of the IOI to intervene upon peripheral muscles stiffness previously found to be more stiff in this population compared to healthy controls. This study is intended to initiate a line of research aimed at assessing widely used orthopedic physical therapy practices to address orthopedic impairments and muscle stiffness differences in women with CPP potentially decreasing time to care for a widely experienced condition. This study will guide potential future studies aimed at intervening upon a larger population and establishing the characteristics of participants who respond favorable to orthopedic care alone. First, this study will establish if this type of intervention has an effect on pelvic floor function and symptoms, pain, and muscle stiffness, all of which are often priorities of treatment for PHPTs treating CPP. A single-subject design is well suited in studying an intervention on such a heterogeneous patient population that does not currently have physical therapy treatment subclassifications. Future studies could help to establish possible subclassifications of CPP to include an orthopedic or peripheral muscle stiffness classification and empower therapists with associations between peripheral orthopedic and myofascial dysfunction and pelvic floor function and pain. This line of research could help prioritize which patients require specialty care, who could initiate care with an orthopedic PT, and who may resolve dysfunction and pain with orthopedic PT alone.

In the literature, the evidence regarding the effects of different static stretching times on elasticity is very limited, and the evidence on the effects on flexibility varies. Although 10 to 30 seconds of static stretching is said to be effective, studies on which duration is effective for which muscle group are quite limited. Based on these, the aim of this study is to examine the effects of stretching exercises of different periods on muscle elasticity to be applied to thin and thick muscle groups. In order to evaluate its effectiveness, assessment of evaluation of muscle flexibility, active-passive range of motion were being applied.

This study will evaluate the clinical safety and patient satisfaction with the high power magnet system for the aesthetic improvement of buttocks. The study is a prospective multi-center open-label single-arm study. The subjects will be enrolled and assigned into a single study group. Subjects will be required to complete four (4) treatment visits and three follow-up visits - 1 month, 3 months and 12 months after the final treatment. Study will be conducted at several study sites. At the baseline visit, subject's weight will be recorded. Subjects will receive Buttocks Evaluation Questionnaire to fill in. The treatment administration phase will consist of four (4) treatments, delivered twice a week. The applicator will be applied over the gluteal area. Visible contractions will be induced by the device. At the last therapy visit, the subject's weight will be recorded. In addition, subjects will receive Subject Satisfaction, Buttocks Evaluation and Therapy Comfort Questionnaires to fill in. Safety measures will include documentation of adverse events (AE) including subject's experience of pain or discomfort after the procedure. Following each treatment administration and at the follow-up visits, subjects will be checked for immediate post-procedure adverse event assessment. Post-procedure evaluation (follow-up visits) will be conducted 1 month, 3 months and 12 months after the final treatment. A weight measure will be conducted. Also, subject's satisfaction and buttocks evaluation will be noted.

This study will examine the short term effects of adding manual therapy techniques to static stretching in Dorsiflexion (DF) Range of Motion (ROM). The investigators will be studying 2 forms of manual therapy, a rear-foot thrust joint mobilization (TJM), and Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). By comparing 3 groups: TJM+static stretching versus IASTM + static stretching versus static stretching alone the investigators wish to see if there are any short term benefits in DF ROM by adding either of these interventions to static stretching. The manual therapy treatment will occur over 2 sessions and DF ROM measurements will be taken 4 times over a 2 week period. The population that the investigators wish to examine are subjects with healthy feet and ankles, but with limited DF ROM. The primary objective of this study is to see if subjects with decreased dorsiflexion motion will experience greater increases in dorsiflexion motion with the addition of manual therapy of static stretching alone. Our hypothesis is subjects who receive manual therapy therapy and static stretching will experience a significant increase in DF ROM as compared to subjects who receive static stretching alone. More specifically subjects who are treated with the IASTM will experience greater results than subjects who are treated with the rear-foot thrust mobilization.
