This randomized placebo-controlled trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of High-Intensity Laser Therapy (HILT) as an adjunct to standard outpatient physiotherapy in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Seventy-two participants will be randomly assigned to receive either conventional physiotherapy combined with active HILT or conventional physiotherapy combined with sham HILT. Outcomes related to pain, knee function, physical performance, muscle strength, range of motion, psychosocial factors, quality of life and body composition will be assessed at baseline, after the intervention, and at 8-week follow-up.

Obesity is a major modifiable risk factor for knee osteoarthritis and is associated with chronic low-grade inflammation, pain, functional impairment, and cartilage degradation. Weight reduction is recommended as a core component of osteoarthritis management, while resveratrol has demonstrated anti-inflammatory and chondroprotective properties in experimental and clinical studies. However, the potential additional benefit of resveratrol supplementation when combined with dietary intervention remains uncertain. This randomized controlled trial evaluated the effects of 150 mg/day trans-resveratrol supplementation as an adjunct to a low-calorie diet in postmenopausal women with obesity and knee osteoarthritis. Ninety-seven participants were randomized to receive either a low-calorie diet alone or the same diet combined with resveratrol for 10 days. Outcomes included pain intensity, functional status, urinary C-terminal telopeptide of type II collagen (CTX-II), anthropometric parameters, body composition, metabolic markers, lipid profile, and inflammatory biomarkers.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a non-inflammatory degenerative disease characterized by progressive deterioration of cartilage tissue, synovial membrane, and joint capsule, primarily affecting weight-bearing joints. Individuals with knee osteoarthritis exhibit weakness in the trunk and periarticular muscles. This loss of strength in the trunk and periarticular muscles increases the load on the joint, contributing to the development and progression of the disease. This study aimed to investigate the effects of core stabilization, applied in addition to knee muscle exercise programs, on clinical symptoms and functional capacity in individuals with knee osteoarthritis.

The goal of this clinical trial is to see if people with knee osteoarthritis would be willing to comply and adhere to incorporating Recombinant Human Growth Hormone (rHGH), specifically Saizen Somatropin solution, into their treatment plan. Participants will be asked to: * Self-inject the treatment solution (placebo or somatropin) into the abdominal or gluteal area once per day for a total of 6 weeks. * Complete questionnaires related to their knee pain and activities of daily living. * Provide blood tests. * Complete various measurements including: circumference of thigh, calf, and abdomen; strength of thigh and knee; range of motion of both knees; and gait analysis.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease characterized by the progressive degeneration of articular cartilage resulting from the interaction of genetic, metabolic, and biochemical factors and is often accompanied by secondary inflammation. This condition represents a pathological process involving the dynamic interaction of cartilage degradation and repair mechanisms affecting the cartilage, subchondral bone, and synovium. Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease worldwide and represents one of the leading causes of physical disability. Pain is the most prominent symptom of osteoarthritis. It typically increases with activity and decreases with rest. As the disease progresses, pain may occur with minimal activity and can eventually be present at rest and during the night. The knee joint is a synovial joint formed between the femoral condyles and the tibia. Sensory innervation of the knee joint is provided by branches of the femoral, obturator, and sciatic nerves. Pain associated with knee osteoarthritis is a common clinical problem that can lead to functional limitation and reduced quality of life. In many patients with chronic knee pain due to osteoarthritis, pharmacological treatments and/or physical therapy may not provide sufficient analgesia. Knee arthroplasty is the most frequently used treatment option for advanced knee osteoarthritis; however, it may not be suitable for some patients because of comorbidities. Currently, one of the most commonly used interventional treatment methods for pain control in knee osteoarthritis is intra-articular steroid injection. This treatment reduces synovial inflammation and may slow disease progression. However, repeated steroid injections may provide only short-term pain relief and may also contribute to cartilage degeneration. In recent years, alternative interventional approaches for the management of osteoarthritis-related knee pain have gained increasing attention. The nerves responsible for knee joint pain originate from both the anterior and posterior aspects of the joint. The IPACK (infiltration between the popliteal artery and the capsule of the knee) block is a simple and practical technique performed under ultrasound guidance. Although it is primarily intended to block the posterior articular innervation of the knee, cadaveric studies suggest that the anterior genicular nerves may also be affected. Therefore, the IPACK block may serve as an alternative treatment option for providing additional analgesia in patients with advanced knee osteoarthritis. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of an IPACK block combined with intra-articular steroid injection on pain scores in patients with chronic knee osteoarthritis.

This study will assess the efficacy of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy in patients with inflammatory knee osteoarthritis confirmed by MRI-detected effusion-synovitis. Fifty participants will be randomly allocated into two groups. One group will receive active PEMF therapy at a specific optimized parameter twice a week for 8 weeks, while the other group will receive sham treatment using the same device without PEMF signal. The primary outcome is the change in WOMAC pain score, and secondary outcomes include knee function, stiffness, quality of life, and MRI-quantified structural changes.

The aim of this prospective randomized controlled study was to determine whether the timing of drain removal in relation to continuous passive motion (CPM) application influences postoperative residual hematoma formation following primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Our primary hypothesis was that removing the drain after initiating CPM would result in less residual hematoma, as CPM-induced intra-articular fluid and blood mobilization would be evacuated through the drain before its removal, thereby reducing postoperative fluid accumulation.

This study, called the RATKA-EARLY trial, was designed to compare two surgical techniques used in total knee replacement (also known as total knee arthroplasty or TKA). The aim was to determine whether the use of a robotic surgical system (ROSA® Knee System) offers short-term clinical advantages over the traditional manual technique. A total of 68 adult patients with advanced knee osteoarthritis scheduled for TKA were enrolled. Participants were randomly assigned to one of two groups: 34 patients underwent robot-assisted TKA (RATKA), and 34 underwent conventional manual TKA (mTKA). All surgeries were performed by the same experienced surgical team, using the same type of implant. Researchers assessed intraoperative and perioperative variables (such as surgical duration and blood loss), and evaluated early clinical outcomes at 3 months postoperatively by comparing pain levels, implant alignment, knee function, mobility, and overall patient satisfaction with baseline values. The study was conducted at Hospital Universitario Santa Cristina in Madrid, Spain. It was approved by the local ethics committee and carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and international research guidelines. By comparing these two surgical approaches, the study aims to help patients and healthcare professionals make informed decisions regarding total knee replacement options.

Mobilization with movement (MWM) appears to reduce pain, improve knee range of motion, and enhance physical functioning in individuals with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). However, it remains unclear whether the severity grading of structural damage in KOA affects its effects. This study aims to analyze the immediate effect of MWM on squat self-reported functional ability, pain intensity, and pain-free range of motion in people with KOA, and to verify it its effect is influenced by the severity grading of structural damage.

The primary objective of the study is to determine the effects of Feldenkrais Exercises on Pain, Range of Motion, and Disability in Patients with Knee osteoarthritis. Knee osteoarthritis poses significant challenges in pain management, mobility improvement, and disability reduction among middle-aged to older adults. Feldenkrais Method offers benefits comparable to back school lessons or core stability exercises. This study, conducted as a Randomized Controlled Trial at RIPHAH Rehabilitation Clinic, aims to assess the efficacy of Feldenkrais exercises compared to conventional physical therapy in addressing pain, range of motion, and disability in knee osteoarthritis patients aged 40-60 years. A non-probability convenience sampling method will recruit 32 participants meeting specific criteria for osteoarthritis severity and functional ability. Participants will be randomly assigned to Group A (Feldenkrais exercises) or Group B (conventional therapy), with interventions delivered over four weeks. Group A will engage in Feldenkrais exercises targeting pelvic and lower limb mobility, while Group B will receive standard treatments including knee isometrics, mobilization, transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation, and heating pad applications. Pain severity will be measured using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, Range of Motion assessed via goniometry, and disability evaluated using the Western Ontario McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index. Statistical analysis using SPSS will compare outcomes between groups at baseline, post-treatment, and follow-up assessments.

The clinical trial has a research cycle of 24 weeks. The first 12 weeks are multicenter, randomized, double-blind, controlled trials. A total of 72 patients with knee osteoarthritis with liver-kidney deficiency syndrome and/or cold-dampness arthralgia syndrome are planned to be enrolled and randomly assigned to the control group (Tongren-Dahuoluo Bolus) and the treatment group (Tongren-Dahuoluo Bolus Placebo) in a 1:1 ratio. The purpose is to compare the safety and efficacy of Tongren-Dahuoluo Bolus and placebo in treating knee osteoarthritis. A long-term blind extension study will be conducted in the next 12 weeks. All subjects will take Tongren-Dahuoluo Bolus orally to evaluate the long-term safety, tolerability, and efficacy of Tongren-Dahuoluo Pills in treating patients with knee osteoarthritis.
