The primary objective of our study is to compare the thickness of the masseter muscle, measured by ultrasound, in individuals with chronic neck pain to that of healthy individuals. The secondary objective of the study is to examine the relationships between masseter muscle thickness and pain intensity, neck disability level, pain catastrophizing level, and clinical diagnostic criteria in individuals with chronic neck pain.

Cervical myofascial pain syndrome is a chronic musculoskeletal condition characterized by the presence of sensitive trigger points and taut muscle bands, resulting in localized or referred pain, muscle stiffness, and limited range of motion. The disorder frequently leads to functional limitations and a reduction in quality of life. Although the physical features of cervical myofascial pain syndrome have been well documented, its psychological and social dimensions have not been adequately explored. Personality traits and social factors may influence pain perception, coping mechanisms, and treatment adherence. Type D personality, also known as distressed personality, is defined by the coexistence of negative emotions and social inhibition and has been associated with worse outcomes in various chronic diseases. Stigma represents another psychosocial factor that may contribute to disability and emotional distress in chronic pain conditions. This case-control study aims to investigate the prevalence of Type D personality traits and anticipated stigma among patients with cervical myofascial pain syndrome compared with healthy individuals. The study further explores the relationships between personality type, stigma, and clinical and psychological parameters, including anxiety, depression, disability, and health-related quality of life. Findings are expected to support a more comprehensive, biopsychosocial understanding of cervical myofascial pain syndrome and emphasize the importance of psychological screening and social support in clinical management.

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the effects of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and dry cupping in patients (both genders), aged 20-50 years, diagnosed with chronic non-specific neck pain who have active upper trapezius trigger points. The main questions it aims to answer are : 1. Is there a significant difference in the effect on pain level (measured by VAS) between the groups? 2. Is there a significant difference in the effect on cervical range of motion (CROM), pressure pain threshold (PPT), and functional disability (NDI) between the groups? Researchers will compare three groups: 1. Group A (Control):\] Will receive a conventional physical therapy program (hot packs, TENS, and exercises). 2. Group B (Experimental):\] Will receive conventional therapy plus IASTM. 3. Group C (Experimental):\] Will receive conventional therapy plus Dry Cupping. Participants will be asked to do the following: 1. Undergo baseline assessments (measuring pain, ROM, PPT, and disability) before treatment and final assessments after 4 weeks. 2. Attend \[3 treatment sessions per week for four weeks\]. 3. At each session, all participants will receive the conventional physical therapy program , while Groups B and C will receive their additional intervention (IASTM or dry cupping).

The goal of this observational study is to examine whether a virtual reality application developed by our team can be used to evaluate cervical range of motion (ROM) and joint position sense (JPS) in individuals with chronic neck pain. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does the virtual reality application provide reliable measurements of cervical ROM? * Does the application accurately assess cervical JPS when compared with a standard clinical tool (Cervical Range of Motion device, CROM)? Researchers will compare results from the VR application with results from the CROM device to see if the two methods give similar outcomes. Participants will: * Complete a demographic and clinical evaluation. * Perform standardized neck movements (flexion, extension, left/right lateral flexion, left/right rotation). * Be assessed using both the CROM device and the VR application for ROM and JPS.

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the preferences of individuals with chronic low back and neck pain regarding physiotherapy treatment methods and to examine the factors influencing these preferences. Additionally, the study aims to compare patient satisfaction, pain intensity, and disability levels between individuals who receive their preferred treatment and those who do not. Moreover, the relationships between patients' demographic characteristics, pain levels, pain beliefs, disability status, and depression severity with their preferred treatment methods will be investigated. Materials and Methods: The study will include 50 patients with chronic low back and 50 patients with neck pain. In this study, four videos introducing commonly used physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods for the treatment of low back and neck pain (electrotherapy applications -TENS, ultrasound, hot pack-, manual therapy, kinesiotaping-dry needling, education, and exercise) will be prepared and shown to the participants. Pain intensity will be assessed using the "Numeric Pain Scale," pain beliefs with the "Pain Beliefs Scale," depression severity with the "Patient Health Questionnaire," and disability level with the "Oswestry Disability Index" for low back pain and the "Neck Disability Index" for neck pain. Participants will rank the treatment methods they watched and explain their reasons for preference. Each participant will receive electrotherapy treatment three times a week for four weeks. Each treatment session will consist of 20 minutes of TENS, 20 minutes of hot pack, and 6 minutes of ultrasound therapy. Twelve weeks after the treatment, participants will be contacted by phone and asked about their improvement using the "Global Rating of Change Scale (GRC)." Pain intensity and disability level will be reassessed through phone interviews using the "Numeric Pain Scale," the "Oswestry Disability Index" for low back pain, and the "Neck Disability Index" for neck pain at the 12th week. Thus, it will be evaluated whether there is any difference in patient satisfaction, pain intensity, and disability at the 12th week between participants who selected electrotherapy as the most effective method and those who chose other treatments. Statistical analysis of the data will be conducted using the SPSS program, and the analysis results will be presented with mean, standard deviation, frequency (%), number of patients (n), and confidence interval values. Treatment preferences and the factors influencing these preferences will be statistically examined, with a significance level of p\<0.05 considered statistically significant.

Musculoskeletal disorders are among the health problems that most distract individuals from work life in both developed and developing countries. According to the 2019 Global Burden of Disease Study, when evaluated in terms of burden of disease, life expectancy with disability and rehabilitation needs, low back and neck pain are at the top of this category. According to the Health Research Report published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) in 2019, musculoskeletal disorders in the neck region are more common in women and were determined as the musculoskeletal disorder with the highest increase by 12.9% between 2016 and 2019. It has been reported that in approximately half of individuals with neck pain, this pain recurs and becomes chronic. Factors such as sedentary lifestyle, history of low back pain, being female, anxiety disorders, sleep problems and smoking are thought to contribute to the chronicization of pain. Chronic neck pain is defined as pain in the neck region lasting longer than twelve weeks. Cervical muscle activations have been monitored with EMG studies in the patient population with neck pain from past to present and altered cervical muscle activations have been reported in individuals with neck pain. The main muscle groups in which muscle activation has been monitored with superficial EMG and changes have been found in individuals with neck pain are upper trapezius, sternocelidomastoid, cervical erector spinal muscles and thoracic erector spinal muscles. On the other hand, it is still debated whether these muscle activation changes are the cause or a normal consequence of chronic neck pain. In recent years, it has been reported in the literature that EMG Biofeedback studies have been included in patients with neck pain, but more studies are needed to determine its superiority to conventional applications. In the light of this information, in our study titled "The Effect of Superficial EMG Biofeedback Training on Muscle Activation, Proprioception, Reaction Time and Upper Extremity Functions in Patients with Chronic Neck Pain; Randomized controlled study", both the effect of EMG Biofeedback muscle training application on the symptoms of patients with neck pain will be investigated and data that will be a reference for future studies in this field will be obtained. The study in patients with chronic neck pain had two aims. To investigate the effect of EMG Biofeedback relaxation training (upper trapezius muscle) combined with active EMG Biofeedback exercises + routine exercise program on muscle activation, pain, proprioception, reaction time and upper extremity function in patients with neck pain. To compare the effects of EMG Biofeedback training with standard physiotherapy program. This is a cross-sectional study designed to evaluate potential differences in heart rate variability (HRV) indices based on the affected body region (cervical vs lumbar) in individuals with chronic pain. The study will compare HRV parameters between three groups: individuals with chronic neck pain (CNP), individuals with chronic low back pain (CLBP), and a control group without pain. HRV will be assessed using a Firstbeat Bodyguard® device over a 10-minute period, and the data will be analyzed with Kubios® HRV software. The study aims to determine whether autonomic nervous system modulation differs depending on the location of chronic pain.

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of low-load endurance exercise as compared to stretching exercise on upper trapezius on pain, pressure pain and muscle stiffness in patients with chronic neck-shoulder pain. The hypothesis is that endurance exercise of the upper trapezius should result in significantly better improvement in terms of neck-shoulder pain, pressure pain threshold and muscle stiffness than stretching exercise. Participants with unilateral neck-shoulder pain will either perform low-load endurance exercise or stretching exercise of the upper trapezius muscle of the affected side in a 5-week period. Before and after the 5-week training, outcomes will be assessed by investigators in order to compare the effectiveness of two exercises on pain, pressure pain, muscle stiffness, and muscle endurance. Secondary outcomes include Neck Disability Index (NDI) to assess various aspects of daily living impacted by neck pain, and Disabilities of Shoulder, Arm and Hand (DASH) Questionnaire to evaluate the ability to perform various upper limb activities. Findings to be obtained from this study will help inform the clinical management in particular for self-care of this chronic neck pain group of participants, by refining the exercise prescription for promoting the clinical outcomes for individuals suffering from neck-shoulder pain. In addition, results of this study will also inform physiotherapists the possible mechanisms underlying the improvement of neck-shoulder pain by examination of the relationship between biomechanical properties of muscles, such as muscle endurance or muscle stiffness, and neck-shoulder pain.

This research focuses on adding diaphragmatic breathing to conventional physiotherapy sessions, particularly for patients suffering from chronic neck pain aged between 20-40 years in Jordan. Chronic neck pain is recognized as one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal pain disorders, significantly impacting physical, social, and psychological aspects of life. This issue leads to a decline in functional performance and work productivity, negatively affecting both individual and societal levels. Several factors, such as poor posture and prolonged use of smartphones, contribute to the exacerbation of non-specific chronic neck pain. These problems also affect respiratory muscles, particularly the diaphragm responsible for primary respiration, resulting in a shift from abdominal to chest breathing. This alteration increases the use of neck muscles, subsequently intensifying neck pain and negatively impacting sleep quality in these individuals. The primary objective of this therapeutic study is to investigate the role of adding diaphragmatic breathing to physiotherapy sessions in alleviating pain and improving sleep quality. RCT study will investigate the effect of adding the diaphragmatic breathing to conventional physiotherapy treatment on pain and sleep quality over one month.

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of neuroscience-based exercise approaches on pain, disability and gait parameters in individuals with non-specific chronic neck pain. Material- Methods Demographic data, gait parameters, Dizabilty level and craniovertebral angle values of individuals were evaluated with clinical data evaluation form, Spatio-Temporal Gait Analysis (LEGSystm), Neck Disability Index and photometer, respectively.
