NCT01107886
The purpose of this study is to determine whether saxagliptin can reduce the risk of cardiovascular events when used alone or added to other diabetes medications
NCT00811473
The purpose of this study is to determine if quetiapine fumarate extended-release (quetiapine XR or SEROQUEL® XR) 150 to 300 mg/day taken by itself is effective and safe in treating children or adolescents aged 10 to 17 with bipolar depression and if so, how it compares with placebo (a non-active tablet, like a sugar pill, that looks like quetiapine).
NCT00002805
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome in first relapse or who did not achieve first remission.
NCT00235716
The purpose of this study is to determine whether alpha-tocopherol, memantine (Namenda), or the combination will significantly delay clinical progression in mild to moderately demented patients with Alzheimer's disease compared to placebo.
NCT01076452
The goal of the second phase of the study is to determine if simultaneous bilateral subthalamic nucleus stimulation or simultaneous bilateral globus pallidus stimulation is more effective in reducing symptoms of Parkinson's Disease.
NCT00882258
Two (2) dose levels of Proellex or placebo will be administered once-daily for up to 91 days. Following screening and a pre-treatment endometrial biopsy, subjects will be followed monthly for the three month treatment phase.
NCT00742924
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the side effects and best dose of zoledronic acid when given together with combination chemotherapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed metastatic osteosarcoma.
NCT01175629
The purpose of The Veteran Health Study (CSP #569) is to better understand the mental and physical health of veterans as they get older. We are inviting approximately 10,000 members of the Vietnam Era Twin (VET) Registry to participate. As veterans approach their mid-sixties, it is important to understand the impact of wartime deployment on health and mental health outcomes nearly 40 years later. The investigators will assess the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental and physical health conditions for Vietnam era veterans, and explore the relationship between PTSD and other conditions. CSP #569 involves 3 phases of data collection. In Phase I, VET Registry members are invited to complete a paper and pencil questionnaire including items on physical and mental health, disability, health behaviors, demographic information and use of health care services. After completing Phase I, VET Registry members are invited to Phase II which involves a telephone interview about mental health. In Phase III, some of those who participated in Phase I will be invited to a sub-study confirming self-reported heart disease and diabetes using a provider survey. Data collected for CSP #569 will be combined with existing VET Registry data. This will provide a rich picture of the health of Vietnam era veterans and the influence of PTSD on the lives of veterans.
NCT01759420
The purpose of this study is to assess the use of the medication ondansetron (zofran) in the emergency department. There are studies of the ability of ondansetron to cause a prolongation in the QT interval (a certain measurement on an EKG) in anesthesia and cancer patients, but not on emergency department patients. This is an observational study where patients that are going to receive the anti-nausea medicine ondansetron in the emergency department will have an EKG performed every 2 minutes for 20 minutes to determine if the QT interval prolongs and returns to normal in that time period. Any serious outcomes will be reported. There is expected to be no adverse outcomes from this routinely used medication.
NCT00467844
The purpose of this study is to assess if Gtx-024 is effective in increasing lean body mass in subjects with muscle wasting related to cancer.
NCT00793624
The primary objective of this study is to assess the long-term efficacy and safety of once daily treatment of BI 1744 CL inhalation solution (5 and 10 mcg) delivered via the Respimat® inhaler, in patients with COPD.
NCT01362296
This is a phase II, open-label, multicenter, randomized study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GSK1120212 compared with docetaxel in the second line setting for subjects with locally advanced or metastatic (Stage IV) Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring a KRAS mutation who have failed one platinum-containing chemotherapy regimen. A small subset of NSCLC subjects harboring BRAF, NRAS, or MEK1 mutations will be randomized in addition to the primary KRAS population, for exploratory purposes.
NCT00005578
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Chemoprotective drugs, such as dexrazoxane, may protect normal cells from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy with or without dexrazoxane in treating children who have Hodgkin's disease.
NCT01511458
The purpose of this blinded, multi-center, prospective, case-controlled study is to compare the Ariosa Harmony™ Prenatal Test for trisomy 21 detection with a standard first-trimester prenatal screening test consisting of serum screening (PAPP-A,free beta-hCG \[β-hCG\] or total hCG) and a nuchal translucency (NT) measurement (i.e. combined first trimester screening) in a general screened population. The performance characteristics of these two test modalities will be assessed relative to the clinical reference standard of genetic analysis of the fetus or phenotypic characterization and genetic analysis of the newborn.
NCT00975143
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of CIP-Isotretinoin and a marketed (generic) formulation of isotretinoin when both are administered twice daily with meals.
NCT01619046
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of GreenGene™ F in subjects with severe hemophilia A previously treated (\> 150 exposure days) with a Factor VIII concentrate and without presence or history of inhibitors to FVIII (Factor VIII).
NCT00113607
The purpose of the study is to compare the progression-free survival (PFS) of the combination of trabectedin + DOXIL with DOXIL monotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer.
NCT01040793
To compare the effects of BI 1744 CL versus placebo on exercise tolerance after 6 weeks of treatment in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
