NCT01385137
RATIONALE: An omega-3 fatty acid-enriched nutritional supplement may help improve muscle and bone pain and stiffness caused by hormone therapy in patients with breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying omega-3 fatty acid supplements in treating muscle and bone pain and stiffness in patients with stage I, stage II, or stage III breast cancer receiving hormone therapy.
NCT01482221
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect and safety of AZD6765 in patients with major depressive disorder who exhibit inadequate response to antidepressants. AZD6765 is a channel blocker of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) class of glutamate receptors.
NCT00025259
This randomized phase III trial is studying different chemotherapy regimens given with or without radiation therapy to compare how well they work in treating children with newly diagnosed Hodgkin's disease. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving the drugs in different combinations may kill more cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage cancer cells. It is not yet known if chemotherapy is more effective with or without additional chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy in treating Hodgkin's disease.
NCT00916409
The study is a prospective, randomly controlled pivotal trial, designed to test the efficacy and safety of a medical device, the NovoTTF-100A, as an adjuvant to the best standard of care in the treatment of newly diagnosed GBM patients. The device is an experimental, portable, battery operated device for chronic administration of alternating electric fields (termed TTFields or TTF) to the region of the malignant tumor, by means of surface, insulated electrode arrays.
NCT01965106
This study will assess any side effects that may occur when QPI-1007 is injected into the eye in subjects with acute primary angle-closure glaucoma, as well as how long it takes for the body to clear the drug. This study will also test whether QPI-1007, injected into the eye, helps prevent both structural damage of the nerve tissue in the eye and the loss of visual function in subjects with acute primary angle-closure glaucoma.
NCT01268566
The primary objective of this Phase II study is to evaluate the progression-free survival at 6 months in adult subjects with a first recurrence of Glioblastoma Multiforme who are treated with MEDI-575.
NCT02462278
This study evaluates the safety and usability of a continuous temperature sensor for women. Data will compare the date of ovulation identified by the continuous temperature sensor to that of transvaginal ultrasound and serum progesterone levels. Subjects will also compare sensor results to once-daily oral temperatures and urine luteinizing hormone (LH) status.
NCT02227108
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of moxetumomab pasudotox in pediatric participants with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) or B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma.
NCT01007942
This phase III, double-blind, placebo-controlled multinational study will assess the combination everolimus, vinorelbine, and trastuzumab compared to the combination vinorelbine and trastuzumab with respect to progressive-free survival and over survival in HER2/neu positive women with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer who are resistant to trastuzumab and have been pre-treated with a taxane.
NCT00957255
Prospective, randomized, multi-center, controlled study for patients undergoing open rotator cuff repair. Patients are stratified based on tear size to one of three groups. Each group is then randomized 1:1 to either repair with OrthoADAPT or repair without OrthoADAPT.
NCT00363012
RATIONALE: Studying the immune response to a vaccine made from HER2/neu protein may help doctors plan better treatment for patients with breast cancer that overexpresses HER2. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the immune response in patients who have undergone vaccine therapy for stage III or stage IV breast cancer that overexpresses HER2.
NCT01465386
This phase II trial studies how well bortezomib works in treating patients with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in remission. Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth
NCT02091986
The purpose is to investigate the Efficacy and Safety of Symbicort pMDI 80/2.25 μg and Symbicort pMDI 80/4.5 μg, Compared with Budesonide pMDI 80 μg, 2 Actuations Twice Daily, in Children Ages 6 to \<12 Years with Asthma during 12 weeks.
NCT00161733
The objective of this study is to demonstrate equivalent hemostatic efficacy and safety between FS VH S/D and TISSEEL VH fibrin sealant in subjects undergoing cardiac surgery requiring cardiopulmonary bypass. If bleeding is still present after conventional surgical methods to achieve hemostasis have been applied FS VH S/D or Tisseel VH are applied. Achievement of hemostasis within 5 minutes is compared between the study groups.
NCT01849289
This trial was conducted in Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America. The aim of the trial was to compare efficacy and safety of insulin degludec and insulin glargine in insulin naïve subjects with type 2 diabetes.
NCT01237626
The following study is designed in order to effectively collaborate and coordinate information amongst colleagues to advance knowledge on information related to older drivers. Candrive is dedicated to improving the safety and quality of life of older drivers. The major objective is to develop a valid, easy to use in office screening tool that will help clinicians identify older drivers who need further assessment of their driving. Over the course of the study, the goal will be to provide enough data to establish findings relating to knowledge generation, translation of research into action, training and sustainability. It is our hope that the research process will translate to help increase the knowledge of public policy makers, clinicians and the general public. A 5 year study will create an opportunity to document the natural course of an older adult's driving patterns up until driving cessation. This will not only provide data for road safety but also help understand the psychosocial factors leading to driving cessation. The data relating to psychosocial factors may also lead the way in establishing ways of extending the safe driving period for older adults. The investigators hypothesize that the knowledge derived from this interdisciplinary research will be used by transportation policy makers, clinicians, and general public to improve safety and quality of life for older drivers.
NCT00550836
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as panitumumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Panitumumab may also stop the growth of pancreatic cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well giving panitumumab together with gemcitabine and erlotinib works compared to giving gemcitabine and erlotinib alone in treating patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
NCT02302131
Multi-center, Observational Registry with Retrospective Enrollment and Prospective Follow-up. The aim of the registry is to document the feasibility and safety of implanting an Edwards SAPIEN XT transcatheter heart valve in the pulmonic position.
NCT00974623
A multi-center, prospective, observational patient registry to collect information on the clinical outcomes and "real world" use of approved and commercially available bone graft substitutes, autograft and allograft.
NCT00494676
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the functional utility for general mobility (walking) of new high power permanent peripheral prism glasses, which provide visual field expansion device for patients with homonymous hemianopia (the complete loss of half the field of vision on the same side in both eyes). The efficacy of real peripheral prism glasses will be assessed relative to sham peripheral prism glasses.
