NCT00499863
To assess the efficacy and safety of efficacy of MTS compared to placebo
NCT01222715
This randomized phase II trial studies how well vinorelbine tartrate and cyclophosphamide work in combination with bevacizumab or temsirolimus in treating patients with recurrent or refractory rhabdomyosarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vinorelbine tartrate and cyclophosphamide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of rhabdomyosarcoma by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective when given together with bevacizumab or temsirolimus in treating rhabdomyosarcoma.
NCT00907790
The aim of this study is test the efficacy of a comprehensive self-management therapy to decrease abdominal pain/discomfort and improve quality of life in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) compared to IBS patients receiving their usual care.
NCT01140464
Major Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders in adolescence and is associated with significant impairments in development and functioning. This project will rigorously test the Adolescent Collaborative Care Treatment intervention, a health services intervention designed to improve management for depressive disorders among adolescents, via a randomized controlled trial comparing the intervention to usual care. Key components of the trial include enhanced education for youth and parents, youth involvement in choice of evidence-based treatments, care management by an allied health professional with regular supervision by a mental health specialist and pediatrician, and stepped care to advance treatment when youth are not improving. Additional features have been added to engage adolescents and parents including a moderated message board for youth to share with and learn from one another, formalized involvement of the parent, and availability of the care manager during after school hours. Our findings will provide key information on the effectiveness of a developmentally-sensitive adapted collaborative care intervention for the treatment of adolescent depression.
NCT00094172
Patients who have been diagnosed with clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) often develop problems related to the central nervous system, which controls the nerves in the body. Some of these patients may later be diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), a progressive disease of the nervous system. The purpose of this study is to determine if the drug atorvastatin is helpful to CIS patients. Study hypothesis: Early intervention with atorvastatin in patients with CIS will result in a state of immunological tolerance.
NCT00482274
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well docetaxel works in treating patients with relapsed prostate cancer.
NCT01482390
This randomized, double-blind, multi-center, parallel-group study will evaluate the sustained virologic response and the safety of mericitabine (RO5024048) (MCB) in combination with telaprevir (TVR) and peginterferon Alfa-2a (PEG-IFN) / ribavirin (RBV) in participants with chronic Hepatitis C infection.
NCT01590615
This registry will remain open for approximately 5 years (4 years of enrollment + 1 year of follow up). Subjects will be followed until Orthotopic Liver Transplant (OLT), resolution of liver decompensation, death, or conclusion of the registry.
NCT00947700
Early connections has two broad goals: * to identify risk indices for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in 6 to 24 month old infants who have an older sibling with ASD or infants who have an older neurotypical sibling. * to assess whether it is possible to alter risk processes through early intervention with high-risk infants, thereby reducing social-communication delays or the severity of autism symptoms.
NCT00829829
The purpose of this clinical research study was to determine the safety and effectiveness of an experimental drug called rilonacept in subjects with gout who are beginning allopurinol treatment for gout. Subjects will participate in this study for approximately 22 weeks. Rilonacept is being studied for use in preventing allopurinol-induced gout flares.
NCT01572792
The purpose of this Phase III study is to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of two fixed-dose combinations of inhaled aclidinium bromide/formoterol fumarate, aclidinium bromide, formoterol fumarate and placebo in patients with moderate to severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Long-term efficacy, pharmacoeconomic and health-related quality of life assessments will also be evaluated. This extension study will include a 28 week treatment period, followed by a four week follow up visit. All patients will remain in the same treatment group as for the lead-in study and continue on one of the four treatment arms or placebo.
NCT01044459
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of inhaled aclidinium bromide at two dose levels in patients with moderate to severe, stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The study will be 56 weeks in duration; a 2-week rin-in period, a 52-week treatment period and a 2-week follow up phone call. All patients will be randomized to one of two doses of aclidinium bromide.
NCT01393626
This study investigates safety and efficacy of CP-690,550 in adult patients with moderate to severe Crohn's disease. The study hypothesis is that at least one dose of the tested drug is more effective than placebo (inactive drug).
NCT00710151
This research is being done to investigate cognition in long term survivors of Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL). Sometimes caregivers as well as patients who no longer have the disease report cognitive problems such as reduced memory or attentional dysfunction and decreased quality of life. Unfortunately, little is known about what may contribute to this cognitive dysfunction in part because PCNSL is a rare disease and sensitive tests have not often been used in the research studies. This project is being conducted to help understand what factors, such as radiation, may contribute to cognitive dysfunction and better define the relationship between brain structure and thinking in people who have had PCNSL.
NCT00610363
This was a clinical research study to determine the safety and effectiveness of an experimental drug called rilonacept in participants with gout who were beginning another additional treatment. Participants participated in this study for approximately 24 weeks. Rilonacept was being studied for use in preventing gout attacks in participants who had gout.
NCT01232491
This trial is conducted in Europe, and North and South America. The aim of this trial is to investigate if a dietary intervention has an effect on weight when initiating insulin treatment in subjects with type 2 diabetes currently treated with oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs).
NCT00489411
RATIONALE: Duloxetine may lessen peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. It is not yet known whether duloxetine is more effective than a placebo in treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying duloxetine to see how well it works compared with a placebo in treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy in patients with cancer.
NCT01830920
The purpose of this study is to determine whether THR-184 when administered around the time of cardiac surgery that requires cardiopulmonary bypass can prevent or ameliorate the development of acute kidney injury.
NCT01928771
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Benralizumab reduces the number of asthma exacerbations in patients who remain uncontrolled on high doses of ICS-LABA.
