NCT00719303
This randomized phase III trial studies whether changes in diet and physical activity can increase the length of survival without the return of cancer (progression-free survival) compared with usual care in patients with previously treated stage II, III, or IV ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. A healthy diet and physical activity program and counseling may help patients make healthier lifestyle choices. It is not yet known whether changes in diet and exercise may help increase progression-free survival in patients with previously treated cancer.
NCT02136914
This is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 2-arm, parallel group study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ADS-5102 extended release (ER) capsules, an investigational formulation of amantadine, dosed once nightly at bedtime for the treatment of levodopa induced dyskinesia (LID) in subjects with Parkinson's disease (PD). The novel pharmacokinetic profile of ADS-5102 is expected to achieve i) maximal concentrations in the early morning through mid-day, when LID can be troublesome, and ii) lower concentrations in the evening, potentially reducing the negative impact of amantadine on sleep. This pharmacokinetic profile could enable higher doses to be tolerated with a once-nightly ER formulation than can be tolerated with an immediate-release formulation. The once-nightly dosing regimen may also provide enhanced convenience and compliance. In a previous clinical study, ADS-5102 met its primary endpoint; LID was significantly reduced as measured by the change in UDysRS score over 8 weeks vs. placebo.
NCT00088179
During a heart bypass procedure, a substance called "complement" is activated by the body. This "complement activation" causes an inflammatory response that can lead to side affects such as chest pain, heart attacks, stroke, heart failure, or death. The purpose of this study is to find out if the study drug (pexelizumab), that blocks "complement activation," can reduce such side effects and be given safely to patients requiring the bypass procedure with the use of the heart-lung machine.
NCT02122146
To assess the safety and tolerability at increasing dose levels of PF-06664178 in patients with advanced solid tumors in order to determine the maximum tolerated dose and select the recommended Phase 2 dose.
NCT00720694
The purpose of this study is to determine if the Storz Duolith SD1 is more effective than placebo for treatment of heel pain syndrome for patients who have failed conservative treatment with other therapies.
NCT00931528
RATIONALE: Tadalafil may help prevent erectile dysfunction (ED) in patients with prostate cancer that has been treated with radiation therapy. It is not yet known whether tadalafil is more effective than a placebo in preventing erectile dysfunction. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying tadalafil to see how well it works compared with a placebo in preventing erectile dysfunction in patients with prostate cancer treated with radiation therapy.
NCT00116844
Eligible subjects will be randomized to receive VALTREX® tablet 1g or placebo once daily for 60 days in a two-way crossover study with a washout period of 7 days between treatment periods.
NCT01592136
This protocol will allow expanded access of ponatinib to patients ≥18 years with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) any phase or Philadelphia chromosome positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ALL) who have failed all available treatment options.
NCT01180894
The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine whether intravenous iron supplementation of anemic, critically ill trauma patients improves anemia and reduces the need for a red blood cell transfusion.
NCT02679937
This randomized controlled trial assesses the efficacy of a 6-week, dissonance-based, weight-gain prevention program (Fit4Duty) designed to reduce unhealthy weight gain among military service members at-risk for obesity. The Fit4Duty program is an adaptation for the military of an existing civilian obesity prevention program, Project Health, which reduced obesity onset by 50% in healthy civilian young adults. Fit4Duty is compared to a nutrition education control condition and is hypothesized to reduce excess weight gain beyond the control comparison program during the 2 year period following study participation.
NCT01336023
This trial is conducted globally. The aim of this trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of insulin degludec/liraglutide (IDegLira) versus insulin degludec (IDeg) and liraglutide (Lira) in subjects with type 2 diabetes. Subjects are to continue their pre-trial treatment with metformin or metformin + pioglitazone throughout the entire trial.
NCT02525094
To assess the efficacy and safety of MEDI9929 in adult subjects with Atopic Dermatitis
NCT02119676
The purpose of this study was to determine if ruxolitinib, in combination with regorafenib, is safe and effective in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
NCT01165138
The purpose of the study is to compare the efficacy and safety of fluticasone furoate/vilanterol (GW642444) inhalation powder and fluticasone furoate inhalation powder both administered once daily in adolescent and adult subjects 12 years of age and older with persistent bronchial asthma over a 12 week treatment period.
NCT00828607
This comparison study is performed to show equivalence of CEUS with CECT or CEMR to diagnose noninvasively focal liver masses. This is a multi-center prospective cohort study of 250 subjects, which will be performed at four institutions in Canada. Subjects with a focal liver mass, measuring at least 2.5 centimeters in maximal diameter, will undergo a conventional baseline sonogram followed by a contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). CEUS will be performed on standard ultrasound scanners with contrast specific imaging capability. The contrast agent used is Definity (Lantheus Medical Imaging, Billerica,MA) All subjects will have either a dedicated hepatic contrast enhanced CT or MR scan within 60 days of the CEUS as per the standard of care in the institution. Anonymized image files from all imaging will be shown independently to two readers, blinded to all clinical and demographic data, who will predict malignancy and diagnosis.
NCT02006641
To establish efficacy of Idalopirdine as adjunctive therapy to donepezil for symptomatic treatment of patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD).
NCT01323621
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the 24-hour spirometry effect (FEV1) of FF/VI 100/25mcg once daily compared with Fluticasone Propionate/Salmeterol 250/50mcg twice daily over a 12-week treatment period in subjects with COPD.
NCT00819286
The goal of this study is to evaluate sternal osteosynthesis, chest wall pain and return to normal activity in open heart surgery patients who had their breast bone closed either with wires or plates.
NCT01018186
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety of fluticasone furoate/GW642444
NCT01063829
The aim of the study is to find out whether AIC246 is safe and efficacious in lowering the chances of the cytomegalovirus becoming active again and causing illness after an HBPC transplant (allogeneic stem cell transplant).
