NCT00297765
A study to determine the optimal dose and blood level of Prograf® in long-term maintenance of kidney transplant patients.
NCT00081796
The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine if RPR109881 is a better treatment than capecitabine (Xeloda) for advanced breast cancer in patients that no longer benefit from docetaxel and/or paclitaxel.
NCT00103649
The purpose of this study is to assess xaliproden's potential capacity of slowing the deterioration of cognitive and global functions in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. The patients participating in this study will take orally once daily xaliproden or placebo (inactive substance pill).
NCT00129844
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of MGd in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) when given alone, and to evaluate the difference between two dosing regimens.
NCT00655031
Pomegranate has a long history of use in folk medicine. There is vast data on the health benefits of pomegranate fruit and juice. Multiple studies have established the strong antioxidative effects of pomegranate polyphenols (primarily the ellagitannin punicalagin) and their health effects. A vast number of animal and human clinical studies have provided evidence on effect of pomegranate products on reducing symptoms of common cold, reducing blood pressure, improving endothelial function, anti-tumor activity, and its anti-atherosclerotic activity. This study will evaluate the protective effect of a pomegranate concentrate (POMx) in decreasing the incidence and duration of the common cold among healthy adults.
NCT00000669
To determine the safety and maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of 2',3'-dideoxyinosine (ddI), given orally and intravenously, in infants and children with AIDS. The study also measures bloodstream and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) levels of the administered drug, and provides a preliminary assessment of the effectiveness of ddI on HIV replication. AMENDED: Based on safety established in the first dosing phase of 52 weeks and long term dosing data in adults, the dosing period will be extended to 104 weeks. Original design: Information presently available indicates that ddI has high antiviral activity with less apparent toxicity than zidovudine (AZT) (the drug presently used to treat AIDS).
NCT00072982
The object of this study is to determine whether treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with a combination of fish oil and borage seed oil is superior to treatment with either oil alone. This study will also investigate the biochemical, immunological, and molecular mechanism responsible for the therapeutic effects of these fatty acids. Each patient will be followed for eighteen months.
NCT00000778
To evaluate the methodology for rapidly determining the early bactericidal activity (EBA), tolerance, and pharmacokinetics of isoniazid and levofloxacin in the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB). Traditionally, in trials for treatment of TB, a new drug is administered in combination with two or more other antituberculous agents of known effectiveness over a long period of time. In this setting, it is difficult to determine the effect of any single drug or dose level. Development of new agents for the treatment of TB may be accelerated by a methodology in which a new agent could be evaluated for activity by administering it as a single agent over a short time period. This study utilizes a method to measure the amount of bacteria present each day in the lungs.
NCT00205790
To demonstrate equivalence in patency performance of GORE-TEX PROPATEN Vascular Grafts and Thin Walled GORE-TEX Stretch Vascular Grafts in a peripheral bypass application to support a claim of substantial equivalence.
NCT00406952
Purpose of the study is to evaluate use of electronic diaries and voice acoustics for use in future depression clinical trial. Focus is on increased precision of measurement.
NCT00002418
The purpose of this study is to see if it is safe and effective to give a new anti-HIV drug combination to HIV-infected patients who have never taken nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs) and who have failed to respond to protease inhibitors (PIs). The drug combination will contain didanosine (ddI) plus stavudine (d4T) plus nevirapine (NVP) plus MKC-442. Hydroxyurea (HU) may be added.
NCT00104013
NCT00322270
To evaluate the safety profile of alfimeprase as assessed by monitoring of adverse events, serious adverse events and major bleeding events for up to 120 minutes following the instillation of study drug to an occluded central venous access device.
NCT00259753
The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of three doses of Cand5. Cand5, a small interfering RNA molecule that selectively silences the mRNA encoding for VEGF.
NCT00000966
To evaluate the effectiveness and toxicity of oral azithromycin and pyrimethamine as acute therapy for toxoplasmic encephalitis in AIDS patients. To assess the toxicity and effectiveness of azithromycin alone as maintenance therapy. Encephalitis caused by Toxoplasma gondii is the most frequent cause of focal central nervous system infection in patients with AIDS. Untreated, the encephalitis is fatal. Standard treatment for toxoplasmic encephalitis is associated with serious adverse effects. Thus, alternative treatments are needed.
NCT00603707
Our null hypothesis states that the two techniques (Sitzmarks radioopaque markers and SmartPill) are equivalent and is demonstrated if the study population shows a correlation of 0.7 or higher.
NCT00281294
To evaluate the efficacy of fontolizumab in subjects with active rheumatoid arthritis as determined by a 50% improvement of an American College of Rheumatology criteria (ACR50) response at Week 14 (Stage A of study).
NCT00141193
This study is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center trial to compare the efficacy and safety of celecoxib 400mg QD versus placebo in reducing the occurrence of new colorectal adenomas post-polypectomy at Month 13 (Year 1) and Month 37 (Year 3) of study drug administration.
NCT00044824
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of fexofenadine 120mg BID compared to placebo in the treatment of subjects with mild to moderate persistent asthma
NCT00044811
