NCT02349503
This is a Phase 1, multicenter, open-label, single-dose study to evaluate the safety and tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of NBI-77860 in subjects with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). The study will be conducted in approximately 15 adolescent females (12-18 years of age) with a documented medical diagnosis of classic 21-hydroxylase deficiency CAH. The study will include three independent dose cohorts of NBI-77860 (approximately 5 subjects per dose cohort). Ascending doses will be evaluated as part of a sequential-cohort design.
NCT01459913
The purpose of this study is to evaluate if a 12-week total regimen of telaprevir in combination with pegylated interferon alfa 2a (Peg-IFN-alfa-2a) and ribavirin (RBV) (T12/PR12) is safe and effective in subjects who have the interleukin-28B (IL28B) CC genotype. The subjects enrolled in this study will have chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and will not have cirrhosis of the liver.
NCT00991341
The RECESS study will compare the effects of transfusing red blood cell units stored \<= 10 days vs. red blood cell units stored \>= 21 days, in patients who are undergoing complex cardiac surgery and are likely to need a red blood cell transfusion. The primary hypothesis is that there is a clinically important difference between the effects of shorter-storage red cell units and longer-storage red cell units on clinical outcomes and mortality risk.
NCT01294826
The study will determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of AUY922 given in combination with cetuximab in previously treated patients with KRAS wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer.
NCT00046449
A Placebo Controlled Study Evaluating The Effectivess Of Medication In Preventing Seasonal Affective Disorder
NCT00650091
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a long-term lung disease that affects an individual's ability to breathe. In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, we assigned patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis who had mild-to-moderate lung-function impairment to one of three groups - receiving a combination of prednisone, azathioprine, and NAC (combination therapy), NAC alone, or placebo - in a 1:1:1 ratio.
NCT00746759
The purpose of the research study is to develop a new, more sensitive, and less invasive test for diagnosing lung cancer at an earlier stage, when it can more easily be cured. The investigators hypothesize that certain genes are expressed differently in current and former smokers who have lung cancer, and this difference in gene expression may be a biomarker for lung cancer.
NCT01235520
This randomized, multi-center, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of RO4917838 in patients with sub-optimally controlled symptoms of schizophrenia. Patients, on stable treatment with antipsychotics, will be randomized to receive daily oral doses of RO4917838 or matching placebo for 52 weeks, followed by an optional treatment extension for up to 3 years.
NCT00947882
A dose-finding, multi-centre, double-blind, randomised, parallel, placebo-controlled trial to investigate efficacy and safety of degarelix in men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
NCT00680927
The purpose of this study is to quantify the accuracy of the atrial fibrillation diagnostics of the Reveal® XT in a clinical setting and to verify overall system performance, R-wave sensing performance, to obtain user feedback, from both patient and physician, and collect data on device safety.
NCT00693784
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety of the Biostat Disc Augmentation System for the treatment of chronic low-back (lumbar) pain due to symptomatic internal disc disruptions (IDD) and to obtain preliminary efficacy information.
NCT00990587
This is an open-label, single arm study. Approximately 3-30 patients will be enrolled. Patients will receive Oral ciclopirox olamine (aqueous suspension), initial starting dose of 5 mg/m2/day administered as a single dose daily for 5 days. Three patients will initially be treated at each dose level in sequential cohorts. Dose escalation will continue for each subsequent cohort based on toxicity and plasma drug concentrations observed during the previous cohort. Dose escalation will continue until establishment of the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) has been met. Patients who have demonstrated response to treatment, up to 6 total cycles of treatment may be administered. If additional cycles are warranted, ciclopirox olamine will be given at the same dose and frequency as the patient initially received.
NCT01467505
To assess efficacy of telaprevir, pegylated interferon alfa-2a (Peg-IFN-alfa-2a), and ribavirin (RBV) for hepatitis C virus (HCV) in a 48-week total treatment duration regimen following liver transplantation.
NCT00877292
The study will examine the sensitivity and specificity of a circulating cell-free nucleic acid test (DNA/RNA) to identify Down syndrome between about 10 weeks and 21 weeks 6 days gestation. In addition, the new test may be used to identify trisomy 13 and 18 as part of a more complete laboratory developed test. We hypothesize that the new circulating cell-free fetal NA-based test will accurately and precisely measure specific fetal markers in maternal circulation and that measurement will lead to the ability to noninvasively identify with high sensitivity and specificity, fetal chromosome abnormalities, such as Down syndrome.
NCT00757588
The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of saxagliptin with those of placebo as add-on therapy to insulin and insulin with metformin in improving glycemic control at 24 and 52 weeks.
NCT01303575
This study will evaluate the effect of an American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) adaptation of the It's Your Game…Keep It Real (IYG) intervention, relative to a comparison condition on sexual behavior outcomes and psychosocial variables for middle school aged youth (12 - 14 years old). The original IYG program was designed for students in Houston middle schools to help students delay sexual initiation and if sexually active, use condoms and contraception. The present study will adapt the existing IYG program for an AI/AN youth cohort; the original IYG curriculum will be transferred into a web-based format and modified to incorporate additional culturally-relevant components. The primary hypothesis to be tested is: (1) students who receive the web-based curriculum will delay sexual activity relative to those who receive standard care. The major dependent variable is the proportion of students initiating sexual activity. Secondary hypotheses will examine the effect of the web-based curriculum on specific types of sex and psychosocial variables related to sexual risk-taking behavior. This project will also examine the effect of the intervention on the proportion of students who are sexually active, number of times students engage in unprotected sexual intercourse, and students' number of sexual partners.
NCT01346293
The study was designed to compare the safety and immunogenicity of DTap-IPV with DAPTACEL® + IPOL® as the 5th dose booster in children ≥ 4 to \< 7 years of age in the US and Puerto Rico who were previously vaccinated with DAPTACEL® and/or Pentacel® vaccines only. Primary Objectives: * To compare the pertussis \[Pertussis Toxoid (PT), Filamentous Haemagglutinin (FHA), Pertactin (PRN), and Fimbriae Types 2 and 3 (FIM)\] booster responses and geometric mean concentrations (GMCs) (as measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay \[ELISA\]) following DTap-IPV vaccination to those elicited following DAPTACEL® + IPOL® vaccination when administered as a 5th dose. * To compare the diphtheria and tetanus booster responses and GMCs (as measured by ELISA) following DTap-IPV vaccination with those elicited following DAPTACEL® + IPOL® vaccinations when administered as a 5th dose . * To compare the Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine booster responses (as measured by neutralizing assay) following DTap-IPV vaccination with those elicited following DAPTACEL® + IPOL® vaccinations. Observational Objectives: * To compare the polio (types 1, 2, and 3) geometric mean titers (GMTs) following DTap-IPV vaccination with those elicited following DAPTACEL® + IPOL® vaccinations. * To assess the safety of DTap-IPV vaccine or DAPTACEL® + IPOL® vaccine when administered as the fifth dose booster vaccine in participants previously vaccinated with DAPTACEL and/or Pentacel vaccines.
