NCT01844518
The purpose of this study is to estimate Abatacept steady-state trough concentration (Cmin) at Day 113 in children and adolescents with pJIA
NCT01107626
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of non-small cell lung cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Pemetrexed disodium may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether giving bevacizumab or pemetrexed disodium alone or in combination is more effective in treating non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying bevacizumab and pemetrexed disodium alone or in combination after induction therapy to see how well they work in treating patients with advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT05894902
Phase I safety and dose finding study of a standardized Ayahuasca analog (SM-001) in healthy adult volunteers
NCT03384446
Dental implants have revolutionized the field of dentistry, providing improvements in function and esthetics. They are not, however, without risks. Bone loss around implants (i.e. periimplantitis) is an emerging public health concern. Untreated, peri-implantitis leads to implant loss and jawbone defects. Nonetheless, existing therapies have failed to show long-term efficacy. The pathogenesis of peri-implantitis is believed to be of bacterial etiology similar to periodontal disease. Therefore, existing treatments duplicate strategies for the treatment of natural teeth. However, the titanium (Ti) surface of implants is quite dissimilar to teeth. Recent work from our lab has demonstrated that peri-implantitis is associated with increased release of Ti particles around implants. These findings suggest that treatments targeting periimplantitis must be designed around Ti material properties. A gap in knowledge exists regarding the potential triggers of increased Ti dissolution from the implant surface and the mechanisms by which Ti dissolution products amplify peri-implant inflammation. The aim of this study is to determine if the use of tooth-driven treatment approaches increase Ti in the submucosal plaque.
NCT02728050
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of filgrastim (granulocyte colony-stimulating factor \[G-CSF\]), cladribine, cytarabine, and mitoxantrone, when given together with sorafenib and to see how well they work in treating patients with newly-diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (likely to be more aggressive). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cladribine, cytarabine, and mitoxantrone work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Colony-stimulating factors, such as filgrastim, may increase the production of blood cells and may help the immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. Sorafenib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving filgrastim, cladribine, cytarabine, and mitoxantrone together with sorafenib may kill more cancer cells.
NCT00008385
RATIONALE: Chemoprevention therapy is the use of certain drugs to try to prevent the development or recurrence of cancer. It is not yet known if selenium is effective in preventing the growth of new tumors in patients with previously resected non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying selenium to see how well it works compared to a placebo in preventing the development of second primary lung tumors in patients who have undergone surgery to remove stage I non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT02267603
This phase II trial studies how well pembrolizumab works in treating patients with Merkel cell cancer that cannot be removed by surgery or controlled with treatment, or has spread to other parts of the body. Pembrolizumab may stimulate the immune system to identify and destroy cancer cells.
NCT00057876
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. It is not yet known whether gemcitabine is more effective with or without radiation therapy in treating pancreatic cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to study the effectiveness of gemcitabine with or without radiation therapy in treating patients who have locally advanced, unresectable pancreatic cancer.
NCT03459807
Blood pressure may be one of the most important modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease in patients with end-stage-renal-disease undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Although a systolic blood pressure \<140 mmHg treatment target has been recommended, there remains uncertainty on which blood pressure should be targeted, more specifically that measured in the dialysis unit or at home. Observational studies have reported a paradoxical U-shaped associated with dialysis unit (pre-dialysis) systolic blood pressure and cardiovascular events and death (where blood pressure below 140 mmHg is actually linked with poor outcomes). Conversely, the same studies have reported a linear association between higher home systolic blood pressure and worse clinical outcomes, where blood pressure below 140 mmHg is associated with better outcomes. This pilot clinical trial aims to address this important question.
NCT01092416
This is a prospective, single-arm, multi-center study to evaluate the safety and performance of the OAS in treating de novo, severely calcified coronary lesions in adult subjects. Study is going to enroll up to 429 subjects in up to 50 U.S. study sites. The primary safety endpoint is 30-day MACE and primary efficacy endpoint is procedural success. All subjects will be treated with the orbital atherectomy system and adjunctive stent. All subjects will be followed in clinic at 30 days. Additionally, all subjects will have an annual phone call or clinical follow up at each anniversary until study is closed.
NCT02193841
Simple bone cysts (SBCs) are cysts filled with fluid that occur most frequently in the long bones (arms or legs) of children. There are many ways to treat SBCs but it is unclear if one is better than another. The purpose of this research trial is to compare the effectiveness of two common treatments that are used by surgeons today.
NCT02580058
A Phase 3 global study comparing avelumab alone to avelumab plus PLD and to PLD alone to demonstrate that avelumab given alone or in combination with PLD is superior to PLD alone in prolonging Overall Survival in patients with platinum resistant/platinum refractory ovarian cancer.
NCT02482311
This is an open-label, multi-centre, Phase Ib study of AZD1775 designed to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and anti-tumour activity of AZD1775 monotherapy in patients with advanced solid tumours.
NCT03770403
This is a Long-Term, Single-Arm, Open-Label, Multicenter Phase 3 follow-on trial of the ARGX-113-1704 study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ARGX-113 in patients with gMG. Patients who have completed at least 1 cycle of treatment and at least 1 year of trial ARGX-113-1705 and have started Part B are eligible to enroll in the open-label trial ARGX-113-2002 to receive efgartigimod by SC administration.
