NCT00004188
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying peripheral stem cell transplantation with treated peripheral stem cells following combination chemotherapy to see how well it works compared to peripheral stem cell transplantation with untreated peripheral stem cells following combination chemotherapy in treating patients with neuroblastoma.

All consecutive consenting patients diagnosed with WHO Group I PAH according to specific hemodynamic criteria at participating institutions will be enrolled. Participating patients will be followed for a minimum of five years from the time of enrollment.
NCT00254657
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of levetiracetam in reducing the pain of fibromyalgia when compared to placebo. Levetiracetam, an anti-seizure drug, is currently FDA-approved and marketed for use in patients with seizures. Levetiracetam may relieve pain by reducing abnormal activity in the nervous system. A placebo is an inactive substance.
NCT00363051
The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of everolimus in the treatment of advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (NET) not responsive to cytotoxic chemotherapy. All patients were treated with everolimus until either tumor progression was documented using a standard criteria that measures tumor size called Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid tumors (RECIST), or until unacceptable toxicity occurred, or until the patient or investigator requested discontinuation of treatment.
NCT01189227
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to kill tumor cells or stop them from growing. Giving combination chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. Giving combination chemotherapy after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells. It is not yet known whether giving combination chemotherapy before and after surgery is more effective than giving combination chemotherapy after surgery. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying giving combination chemotherapy before and after surgery to see how well it works compared to giving combination chemotherapy after surgery in treating patients with colorectal cancer with liver metastases that could be removed by surgery.
NCT00083304
RSR13 (efaproxiral) is a radiation sensitizer that has shown positive results in a Phase 3, randomized clinical trial of patients with brain metastases. Of 111 eligible breast cancer patients with brain metastases in that trial, 59 patients who received RSR13 prior to radiation therapy had a median survival time that was twice as long as the 52 patients who did not receive RSR13 prior to radiation therapy. RSR13 (efaproxiral) is an experimental drug that increases the amount of oxygen released from blood into the tissues. It is well known that certain types of cancer tumors, including those in brain metastases, lack oxygen. Lack of oxygen in a tumor can reduce the effect of radiation therapy (RT). RSR13 may increase the oxygen level in brain tumors so that radiation therapy works better. This study will enroll up to 360 women with brain metastases from breast cancer, and will evaluate if whole brain radiation therapy given with RSR13 will have a better treatment effect than whole brain radiation therapy alone. RSR13 will be infused intravenously (IV) through a central catheter placed in a central vein. Women randomized (assigned) to receive RSR13, therefore, will need to have a central catheter placed for treatment unless one is already in place.
NCT00077857
This 2 arm study compared the efficacy and safety of label dose of capecitabine (Xeloda®) to that of a lower dose of Xeloda® plus docetaxel (Taxotere®) in patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer after failure of chemotherapy with an anthracycline. Patients were randomized to receive either 1250 mg/m\^2 or 825 mg/m\^2 orally twice a day (po bid) on days 1-14 of each 3 week cycle, in combination with Taxotere® 75 mg/m2 intravenous (iv) on day 1 of each 3 week cycle. The anticipated time on study treatment was until disease progression and the target sample size was 440 individuals.
NCT00268463
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as oxaliplatin, capecitabine, and floxuridine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Hepatic arterial infusion uses a catheter to carry tumor-killing substances, such as chemotherapy, directly into the liver. Giving chemotherapy in different ways may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether giving oxaliplatin and capecitabine together with an hepatic arterial infusion with floxuridine is more effective than giving oxaliplatin and capecitabine alone in treating patients who are undergoing surgery and/or ablation for liver metastases due to colorectal cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying oxaliplatin, capecitabine, and an hepatic arterial infusion with floxuridine to see how well they work compared to oxaliplatin and capecitabine in treating patients who are undergoing surgery and/or ablation for liver metastases due to colorectal cancer.
NCT01242085
The hypothesis of this study is that total knee alignment will be improved by preoperative planning from CT scans and the production of custom instruments compared to the use of standard instruments.
NCT00276965
This study will compare the safety and effectiveness of a mood stabilizing medication, an antidepressant medication, and a combination of both medications to treat symptoms of bipolar type II depression.
NCT00025142
RATIONALE: Biological therapies such as gefitinib may interfere with the growth of tumor cells and slow the growth of the tumor. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug with gefitinib may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of gefitinib and oxaliplatin combined with leucovorin and fluorouracil in treating patients who have advanced solid tumors or colorectal cancer.
NCT00006009
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of monoclonal antibody therapy in treating patients who have advanced or recurrent lymphoma.
NCT00022048
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is to see if bevacizumab works in treating patients who have myelodysplastic syndrome.
NCT00002714
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining more than one chemotherapy drug with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus radiation therapy in treating patients who have early stage Hodgkin's disease.
NCT00928395
This is a modified extension study to the SUmiT protocol UPC082008 (NCT00534521) to observe and evaluate long term therapy with PTNS on overactive bladder symptoms. Subjects must have completed the 12 weekly treatments of the original protocol, the 13 week follow up assessment, be randomized to the PTNS arm, and be considered a positive responder with moderate or marked improvement in the SUmiT Trial to be enrolled in this study. All consenting responders will continue with active PTNS therapy at an initially prescribed protocol for approximately 3 months followed by individualized symptom-based frequency of visits as determined by the subject along with their treating clinician, for up to a total of 33 months post initial 12-week therapy for a total of 3 years.
