NCT02794857
This study evaluates NP001 in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and evidence of systemic inflammation. Half of participants will receive NP001 and the other half will receive placebo.
NCT01457768
This Registry is designed to obtain long term data on participants who have failed to achieve sustained virologic response (SVR) while receiving at least one Gilead oral antiviral agent (OAV) in a previous Gilead-sponsored hepatitis C virus (HCV) study.
NCT02591381
The investigators propose a randomized non-blinded comparison of standard vs. transcorporal approach for placement of an artificial urinary sphincter in male patients with stress urinary incontinence after radiation and radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. In the United States, the artificial urinary sphincter (AUS), manufactured by American Medical Systems, is the gold standard surgical treatment for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in men. The cuff, which is the portion of the device that encircles and occludes the urethra, is typically placed directly around the urethra (i.e., "standard" placement). The cuff can erode into the urethra. Transcorporal placement has been introduced as a method to reduce the risk of erosion. Transcorporal placement involves tunneling the cuff through the erectile bodies so as to protect the dorsal aspect of the urethra. This approach has never been compared to standard placement in a randomized fashion. In the randomized trial, no additional procedures beyond the normal care protocol will be required of the patients. The investigators will conduct the study through an established, IRB-approved multi-institutional network of surgeons. Success will be assessed via objective and subjective methods; complications will be tallied in a standardized fashion. Outcomes will be measured at two years.
NCT01790438
The purpose of this study is to compare LY2605541 and human insulin isophane suspension (NPH) using the following measures for participants treated for up to 26 weeks: * Change in participants' overall blood sugar control * The rate of night time low blood sugar episodes * The number of participants that reach blood sugar targets without low night time blood sugar episodes * The total number of low blood sugar episodes reported
NCT02844517
The objective of the study is for clinical staff to gain experience using the proposed artificial pancreas system named inControl and the inControl Cloud and assess 24/7 in-home usability prior to initiating a large randomized controlled trial.
NCT01435031
A prospective, multi-center, single-arm study to establish the safety and effectiveness of the XIENCE V® Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent, XIENCE nano™ Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent, XIENCE PRIME™ LL Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent, HT PROGRESS and HT PILOT Coronary Guide Wires, and MINI-TREK Coronary Dilatation Catheter in patients undergoing elective percutaneous revascularization of native chronic total coronary occlusions
NCT02402530
This clinical trial is being conducted to demonstrate the efficacy of neridronic acid in the treatment of pain associated with complex regional pain syndrome type I (CRPS-I). The trial is divided into 3 periods: a 60-day enrollment period, a 12-week trial period, and an extended follow-up period with visits at Month 6, Month 9, and Month 12. The extended follow-up period will be terminated for all participants after the last participant enrolled completes their Month 6 visit (Visit 9). The double-blind will be maintained throughout the 12-week trial period and extended follow-up period.
NCT01126970
To evaluate the weight loss effect and safety of 400 mg velneperit and 120 mg orlistat administered individually or combined three times per day for 24 weeks while on a reduced calorie diet (RCD) and also to evaluate the steady-state trough concentrations of velneperit (S-2367), velneperit (S-2367) tert-butyl OH, and velneperit (S-2367) tert-butyl OH-O glucuronide following 400 mg of velneperit (S-2367) three times per day and 120 mg of orlistat, either combined or separate.
NCT00621686
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Bevacizumab and sorafenib may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving bevacizumab together with sorafenib may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well giving bevacizumab together with sorafenib works in treating patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme.
NCT02214277
The Sentinel System will be a safe and effective method for capturing and removing embolic material (thrombus/debris) during transcatheter aortic valve replacement in order to reduce the ischemic burden in the cerebral anterior circulation.
NCT00776997
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the LINX Reflux Management System in the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).
NCT02083185
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of TAK 385 for achieving and maintaining testosterone suppression (\<50 ng/dL).
NCT03259347
The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of two body acceptance programs for women. Participants may experience reduction of eating pathology and prevention of future obesity and eating disorders; may derive a sense of altruism and contribution to furthering understanding of a public health problem.
NCT01417000
Test the safety, immune response and efficacy of GVAX pancreas vaccine (with cyclophosphamide) and CRS-207 compared to GVAX pancreas vaccine (with cyclophosphamide) alone in adults who have failed or refused prior treatment for metastatic pancreatic cancer.
NCT01091454
This phase II trial studies how well brostallicin and cisplatin work in treating patients with breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic) and does not have estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, or large amounts of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) on its cells (triple-negative). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as brostallicin and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from spreading.
NCT00068445
RATIONALE: Lamotrigine may be effective in reducing pain, numbness, tingling, and other symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. It is not yet known whether lamotrigine is effective in treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well lamotrigine works in reducing pain, numbness, tingling, and other symptoms of peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy in patients with cancer.
NCT00626405
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation, and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. It is not yet known whether bevacizumab is more effective when given together with temozolomide or paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation and carboplatin in killing malignant melanoma cells. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying the side effects of giving temozolomide together with bevacizumab and to see how well it works compared with giving bevacizumab together with paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation and carboplatin in treating patients with stage IV malignant melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery.
