NCT01118949
The purpose is to assess the safety of Lacosamide in subjects with uncontrolled Primary Generalized Tonic-Clonic (PGTC) seizures with Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy.
NCT01006252
The primary purpose of this study was to see how tasisulam-sodium affected metastatic melanoma when compared against paclitaxel as measured by overall survival.
NCT01615068
This multi-center, prospective observational study will evaluate the treatment patterns, and the safety in patients with HER2-positive (HER2+) metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Eligible patients will have an initial metastatic breast cancer diagnosis that has not been previously treated with systemic therapy; patients may be enrolled up to 6 months after the diagnosis. Data will be collected for up to 8 years.
NCT02066129
The objective of this study is to determine whether, in children receiving low-dose inhaled corticosteroids (ICS), quintupling the dose of inhaled corticosteroids at the onset of symptoms previously associated with upper respiratory illnesses and subsequent asthma exacerbations reduces the rate of severe asthma exacerbations treated with oral corticosteroids.
NCT01000974
The purpose of this study is to evaluate safety, to demonstrate lot-to-lot consistency of the vaccine, to address the relevant concomitant vaccine administrations and to provide a comparison between GSK Biologicals' Hib conjugate vaccine and the licensed monovalent Hib vaccine ActHIB as well as the licensed combination product Pentacel in infants at 2, 4, 6 and 15-18 months of age. This study is designed with a primary and a booster phase.
NCT01977092
The goal of the study is to see if a Motivational Interviewing Case Management (MICM) intervention will improve outcomes for respondents who are on probation or parole, at risk for HIV and have recently entered a Sober Living House. The MICM will help respondents access needed services, adapt to their new living environment, find and maintain work, address HIV risk and treatment, and manage setbacks. The risk for HIV infection among criminal justice offenders is significant, as is the need for stable, drug free housing in this population. Our aim is to see if the MICM intervention in the context of drug free housing will improve health outcomes and reduce recidivism.
NCT01921751
This randomized phase II trial studies how well high or standard intensity radiochemotherapy after gemcitabine hydrochloride and paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation (nab-paclitaxel) work compared with gemcitabine hydrochloride and nab-paclitaxel alone in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and nab-paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing or by stopping them from spreading. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs, such as capecitabine, may make tumor cells more sensitive to radiation therapy. Giving radiation therapy in different ways and adding chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether high intensity radiochemotherapy after gemcitabine hydrochloride and nab-paclitaxel is more effective than standard intensity radiochemotherapy after gemcitabine hydrochloride and nab-paclitaxel or gemcitabine hydrochloride and nab-paclitaxel alone in treating pancreatic cancer.
NCT00258882
To further characterize the vaccine safety profile and to identify any signals of potentially vaccine-related adverse events (AEs) not detected during pre-licensure studies.
NCT00910247
This is a long term, open-label, safety extension study in subjects with partial onset seizures.
NCT03131115
Lateral nasal wall insufficiency is a source of nasal obstruction which plagues many people as the sidewall of the nose collapses due to negative pressure and structural weaknesses of the nose. Bone anchored suture suspension is used by many surgeons to treat it, and involves anchoring the nasal sidewall to the bony rim below the eye. Lateral crura strut graft is another well described and universally used technique involves strengthening lateral crus of lower lateral cartilage of the nose with piece of cartilage. This study aims to compare the two well known and universally used treatments to each other. Based on expert opinions these procedures are both safe and efficient but given lack of randomized clinical trials comparing these 2 techniques, it is difficult to extrapolate which procedure is superior.
NCT00183443
This study will determine the effectiveness of three different drug therapies in treating the symptoms of mania.
NCT00091091
RATIONALE: Assessing the long-term effects of cancer treatment in cancer survivors may help improve the ability to plan effective treatment and follow-up care. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the long-term effects of treatment in patients who were previously treated for childhood Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT01645176
The purpose of this study of a combination therapy of hydroxychloroquine and atorvastatin is to learn about the effects in inflammation and pain in patients with Osteoarthritis of the knee. These medications are FDA approved and commercially available.
NCT00699283
Antiepileptic Drugs (AEDs) are the main treatment for epilepsy; however, only a limited number of AEDs are approved for use as monotherapy. The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of BRV in the conversion of partial onset seizure patients from combination treatment to monotherapy.
NCT00520741
The objective of this historical-controlled trial is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of conversion to Lacosamide monotherapy in subjects with Partial-onset Seizures who are withdrawn from 1 to 2 marketed antiepileptic drugs.
NCT00530855
This open-label extension trial will assess the long-term use of Lacosamide monotherapy and safety of Lacosamide monotherapy and adjunctive therapy in subjects with partial-onset seizures who were previously enrolled in the conversion to monotherapy trial (SP902).
NCT03394677
This is a multi-center, randomized, vehicle controlled, double-blind Phase 2 study in pediatric patients age 2-17 years old with mild to moderate atopic dermatitis.
NCT00819585
The 24-week, dose-ranging, multi-center, double-blind, double-dummy, active-controlled core study investigated the prophylactic effect of canakinumab on the signs and symptoms of acute flares in chronic gout patients initiating allopurinol therapy. The core study was followed by a 24-week open-label, multicenter extension study to assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of canakinumab in patients with gout who were given canakinumab at the time of gout flare.
NCT00992225
The primary purpose of this study is to determine the objective response rate (complete and partial response) for patients who receive LY573636-sodium for metastatic breast cancer.
NCT00282035
To determine if Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation, using 3D CRT, is as effective as Whole Breast Irradiation following breast conserving surgery in women with an new histological diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ only or invasive breast cancer without evidence of metastatic disease. Effectiveness will be determined by the rate of ipsilateral breast tumour recurrence. General objective is to improve the convenience and quality of life of female patients who receive breast irradiation.
