NCT02559570
The purpose of this study was to evaluate dose response of the safety and efficacy of linaclotide for the treatment of functional constipation (FC), in children age 6-17 years. This study includes up to a 4-week Screening Period, and a 2 to 3-week Pretreatment Period. Participants age 6-11 years will receive oral liquid formulation and participants 12-17 years will receive solid oral capsule or liquid oral solution. Children ages 6-11 years meeting the entry criteria will be randomized to 1 of 3 doses of linaclotide or placebo for 4 weeks. Children ages 12-17 years meeting the entry criteria will be randomized to 1 of 4 doses of linaclotide or placebo for 4 weeks. This 4-week study will assess the effects of linaclotide on bowel movement frequency, as well as other bowel symptoms of FC.
NCT02524106
B-HIVE is a Phase 3, double blind, placebo-controlled, randomized, parallel group study, designed to compare the efficacy and safety of bococizumab 150 mg subcutaneously every 2 weeks to bococizumab placebo subcutaneously every 2 weeks for LDL-C lowering in HIV-infected subjects.
NCT03028805
This is a fully automated randomized trial with two randomization branch-points. The first is inclusion of disease-specific orders in the admission orders based on a predictive model using real-time data. The second is the use of dynamic orders that are end-user tested rather than static orders designed by a committee. The primary hypothesis is that automatic inclusion of disease specific orders with admission orders will improve adherence to guidelines for patients with COPD. The secondary hypothesis is that clinical and operational outcomes will improve, thereby improving value.
NCT02225041
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationships between sedative exposure during pediatric critical illness and long-term neurocognitive outcomes. We will test for drug- and dose-dependent relationships between sedative exposure and neurocognitive outcomes along the early developmental spectrum and will control for baseline and environmental factors, as well as the severity and course of illness. Hypotheses: 1. Greater exposure to benzodiazepines and/or ketamine will be associated with lower IQ even when controlling for severity of illness, hospital course, and baseline factors. In addition, benzodiazepines and/or ketamine will negatively affect other aspects of neurocognitive function. 2. Younger children exposed to benzodiazepines and/or ketamine will have worse neurocognitive outcomes than older children with similar sedative exposure and severity of illness.
NCT00834821
This study will test the effectiveness of a new behavioral treatment, called the Child Life and Attention Skills Program, for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, inattentive type.
NCT02234284
This study examined whether health coaches can improve the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in a population of vulnerable patients cared for in 'safety-net' clinics. The study is designed as a randomized controlled trial for patients with moderate to severe COPD. Patients were randomized into a health coaching group and a usual care group. Those in the health coaching group received 9 months of active health coaching. Outcome variables were measured at baseline and after 9 months
NCT02239640
The purpose of this registry is to assess clinical outcomes, and different factors that may affect these clinical outcomes such as systems of care, associated with the use of Covidien market-released neurothrombectomy devices intended to restore blood flow in patients experiencing acute ischemic stroke due to large intracranial vessel occlusion.
NCT03073291
The legalization of recreational marijuana use and sales in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington State is a dramatic change in U.S. substance abuse policy that places a priority on developing regulatory and enforcement systems that prevent distribution of retail recreational marijuana to minors. Responsible marijuana vendor training, modeled after effective responsible alcoholic beverage training, has the potential to help the states prevent distribution to minors. This research will produce a responsible marijuana vendor training provided by a third party, not the cannabis industry, and test its effectiveness with retail recreational marijuana licensees and employees in Colorado, Oregon, and Washington State.
NCT02492672
The current registry is being undertaken to assess the long-term (12 month) safety and tolerability of Venofer in the pediatric population with chronic kidney disease that requires intravenous iron maintenance therapy.
NCT02138916
The purpose of the study is to determine if benralizumab reduces COPD exacerbation rate in symptomatic patients with moderate to very severe COPD who are receiving standard of care therapies
NCT02852434
This study seeks to compare self-administered lidocaine gel for pain control during cervical preparation for dilation and evacuation (D\&E) to paracervical block.
NCT02488044
A Phase 1/2 Open-label Study in Patients with Arginase I Deficiency to Investigate the Safety, Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmacodynamics of Intravenous AEB1102. This study is designed to evaluate the safety and tolerability of IV administration of AEB1102 for the treatment of pediatric and adult patients with Arginase I deficiency and hyperargininemia. This study will be conducted in 2 parts: Part 1 (Single Ascending Dose Escalation) and Part 2 (Repeated Dosing). Each part will be preceded by a baseline assessment of arginine levels. All patients who participate in Part 1 may continue AEB1102 dosing in Part 2 if they qualify for continued dosing. A data safety monitoring board (DSMB) will provide independent review of study safety data and recommend whether the sponsor should continue the study as planned, modify the study protocol, or discontinue the study.
NCT03148587
This study aims to investigate the ability of participants to perform and accurately interpret the multi-level pregnancy test and the low sensitivity pregnancy test following medication abortion, without routine provider contact.
NCT01854918
This study will contribute to the evaluation of long-term safety, tolerability and efficacy of evolocumab (AMG 145) in adults with hyperlipidemia and adults with mixed dyslipidemia.
NCT02387359
This study in patients with IBS-C is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group clinical trial with 12 weeks of study drug therapy.
