NCT00439296
This is a phase I/II study of an investigational drug called ABT-751, produced by Abbott Laboratories, given in combination with chemotherapy drugs used to treat acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that has come back (recurred). The phase I portion of this study is being done to find the highest dose of ABT-751 that can be given safely in combination with other chemotherapy drugs. A safe dose is one that does not result in unacceptable side effects. After a safe dose for ABT-751 given with chemotherapy has been found, the study will add additional patients to find out if ABT-751 (given at the maximal safe dose) when given with additional chemotherapy is an effective therapy for the treatment of children with relapsed ALL. It is expected that approximately 15-35 children and young adults will take part in this study.
NCT02048007
The long-term goal of this study is to more precisely define the role of mass azithromycin treatments as an intervention for reducing childhood morbidity and increasing growth, and for the potential selection of antibiotic resistance. The investigators propose a set of 3 cluster-randomized trials in Malawi, Niger, and Tanzania comparing communities randomized to oral azithromycin with those randomized to placebo. To assess the generalizability of the intervention, investigators will monitor for antibiotic resistance, which could potentially limit adoption of mass antibiotic treatments. The investigators will also assess several measures of infectious diseases. The investigators hypothesize that mass azithromycin treatments will reduce childhood morbidity and will be accompanied by an acceptable level of antibiotic resistance.
NCT04332991
ORCHID is a multicenter, blinded, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial evaluating hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of adults hospitalized with COVID-19. Patients, treating clinicians, and study personnel will all be blinded to study group assignment.
NCT01996943
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained arrhythmia in the United States and it has been associated with ethanol use. Understanding how ethanol affects the electrical properties of the heart and induces AF has important public health implications. The objective of this research is to investigate the mechanistic relationship between ethanol and atrial fibrillation in humans by performing a placebo controlled study looking at the electrical properties of the heart in patients receiving intravenous ethanol or placebo. The investigators hypothesize that ethanol increases the susceptibility of human myocardium to atrial fibrillation through electrophysiologic changes in the atrial myocardium in the acute setting.
NCT04059250
Nobio has developed dental restorative materials with long term antibacterial properties in order to fight recurrent decay/caries around restorations. These composites with incorporated non-leaching antibacterial agents might overcome the vicious circle of newly developed cavities around freshly placed fillings. The investigators will ask lower partial denture wearers to allow them to place a "gap model" with the Nobio-composite and enamel slab in one denture flange. In the other denture flange a gap model with a standard composite will be placed as control. In the laboratory the investigators will test with established methods for demineralization/caries prevention in the test and control enamel slabs, respectively.
NCT02707861
Ibalizumab is a monoclonal antibody that works by blocking HIV entry into the immune system cells (CD4+ or T-cells) the virus typically infects. Ibalizumab is intended for use in combination with other anti-HIV drugs in people with multi-drug resistant HIV and limited treatment options. This study will collect further information on the safety and tolerability of intravenously administered (IV) ibalizumab combined with an optimized background regimen for treating multi-drug resistant HIV-1 infection, and will provide continuing access to ibalizumab for patients completing a prior ibalizumab clinical trial.
NCT03923478
Phase 1B randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, two-cohort clinical trial of ABI-M201 in adult subjects with mildly-to-moderately active Ulcerative Colitis(UC) and ongoing treatment with mesalamine.
NCT01262638
This Phase 2 proof-of-concept study will assess the lipid regulating efficacy and safety of ETC-1002 in subjects with hypercholesterolemia and either normal or elevated triglycerides.
NCT03470051
This is a prospective case collection study to collect cases for subsequent statistical studies and future reader studies.
NCT04226300
Peripheral nerve blocks have been effective in decreasing post-operative pain as well as the use of narcotics for numerous years. Typically, these blocks are placed by anesthesiologist via ultrasound. In more recent years, surgeons have been placing nerve blocks laparoscopically. Since there are few studies that looks compare the two techniques we aim to perform a randomized control trial to demonstrate if a laparoscopic placed nerve block is as efficient and accurate as an ultrasound placed block.
NCT01088048
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the safety of idelalisib in combination with an anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody (mAb), a chemotherapeutic agent, a mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitor, a protease inhibitor, an antiangiogenic agent, and/or an immunomodulatory agent in participants with relapsed or refractory indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), or chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
NCT02061579
The Initiate and Maintain Physical Activity in Clinics (IMPACT) study will determine the optimal and feasible level of frequency of structured contact needed in a clinical setting for adult patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus to initiate and maintain physical activity recommendations long-term.
NCT04507087
This study will assess whether watching a documentary video about the health, environmental, and ethical consequences of eating meat and animal products reduces participants' self-reported intake of these items.
NCT02142452
The investigators will test the efficacy of a tailored behavioral lifestyle modification program to support cardiovascular health in postpartum women with excessive gestational weight gain. This program will include a mobile health texting component postpartum to support changes in nutrition and physical activity. The investigators will randomize women into either the control arm (usual care) or the intervention (usual care + mobile health program postpartum). The women will be recruited during their 3rd trimester once they have been identified as gaining too much weight according to the 2009 IOM guidelines during pregnancy.
NCT01442701
The investigators intend to investigate whether the rise in childhood obesity is caused by the loss of recurrent and chronic infections in modern, industrialized society, beginning in utero and extending through early childhood. The investigators will also examine whether the antimicrobial triclosan, present in numerous cleaning and hygiene products, decreases the incidence of infection within a household.
NCT01401348
A research study to evaluate the effect of aging and HIV on neurocognitive dysfunction (declining ability to process information), physical frailty and heart disease. HIV-infected participants whose virus is controlled on antiretroviral medications will be studied to determine the rates and risk factors of developing these conditions.
NCT01022970
This study is designed to investigate the effects of a 12 week course of intravenous QAX576 6mg/kg every 4 weeks in reducing the number of eosinophils in the esophagus of EoE patients by 75% or greater when compared with baseline.
NCT01596595
Post-approval studies of implanted leads provide an opportunity to observe and assess patient outcomes and technology performance in a real-world setting. The goal of the study is to evaluate, document and report on the appropriate clinical performance, long-term reliability and the functional integrity of the Boston Scientific ENDOTAK RELIANCE® 4-SITE™ Lead and the pulse generator 4-SITE Header.
NCT00610935
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectivess of a single intramuscular injection of peramivir for the treatment of subjects with acute, uncomplicated influenza.
NCT01054443
The primary objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of 3 dose levels of lusutrombopag (0.5 mg, 0.75 mg, and 1.0 mg) and placebo on platelet count.
