NCT01473589
The purpose of this study is to see whether teriparatide, given for 6 months versus placebo, will improve the healing of hip (femoral neck) fractures that are repaired during surgery using certain types of orthopedic screws. The study will enroll men and postmenopausal women at least 50 years of age with a recent hip (femoral neck) fracture caused by low-trauma (for example, fall from standing height or less).
NCT00673387
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-ranging study to examine the safety, tolerability and effect on body weight of a range of doses of metreleptin and pramlintide, each administered by a separate subcutaneous (SC) injection in obese and overweight subjects.
NCT00943917
The purpose of this study is to determine safety, efficacy and tolerability of various doses of ITCA 650 in subjects with type 2 diabetes.
NCT00521586
This study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and immune response when 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (13vPnC) and the trivalent inactivated flu vaccine (TIV) are given together to healthy adults aged 50-59 years who are naive to 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (23vPS), or when the vaccines are given 1 month apart. It will also evaluate the immune response to 13vPnC once per year for 4 years and then to a second dose of 13vPnC given 5 years after the first dose.
NCT00295633
The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn whether Saxagliptin added to thiazolidinedione (TZD) therapy is more effective than TZD alone as a treatment for Type 2 diabetic subjects who are not sufficiently controlled with TZD alone
NCT00215332
To assess the clinical and radiographic outcomes through 5-years following treatment with CHARITÉ™ Artificial Disc vs. the BAK Cage for treatment of degenerative disc disease at one level (L4-S1).
NCT00701935
A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial will assess the effects of twice-daily subcutaneous injection with exenatide versus treatment with matching placebo injection on abdominal visceral fat content.
NCT00125385
This study is designed to investigate whether GC1008, an antibody that neutralizes TGFb, is safe in treating patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The highest dose without excessive side effects will be identified. Tests will determine how long GC1008 is in the body and how it is excreted.
NCT01149551
The purpose of this study is to detect genetic associations for the development of schizophrenia (SZ) and bipolar illness (BP) by comparing Veterans with these diseases to "psychiatrically healthy" Veterans from Veterans Health Administration medical centers. In addition, the genetic basis for functional capacity and disability in Veterans affected with SZ and BP will be assessed, as will genetic predictors of suicidality and tardive dyskinesia. Finally, we will also establish a repository which allows for future genomic studies related to SZ, BP, and related disorders or sequelae.
NCT00375492
This trial is designed to compare the effects of twice-daily exenatide and twice-daily placebo on weight loss. This trial will evaluate overweight and obese subjects with type 2 diabetes who have inadequate glycemic control with metformin, sulfonylurea, or metformin plus a sulfonylurea. Subjects will be treated with exenatide or placebo in addition to their current oral antidiabetes agent regimen and participate in a lifestyle modification program.
NCT00879606
This is a prospective, randomized (1:1), double-blind, multi-center, Phase II clinical study to test the safety and efficacy of a recombinant chimeric anti-tissue factor antibody (ALT-836) versus placebo in patients with sepsis and acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS). This study was divided into two parts and the first part of the study has been completed. In the first part of the study, sixty patients were randomized at a 1:1 ratio to receive one dose of the study drug or placebo. In the second part of the study, ninety patients will be randomized at a 1:1 ratio to receive a multi-dose treatment regimen of single doses every 72 hours up to a maximum of 4 doses of the study drug or placebo, provided there are no safety concerns.
NCT02075138
Grass pollen allergens are universally recognised as a major cause of allergic diseases in humans, including asthma, allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis and dermatitis. The purpose of the current study is to evaluate allergy symptoms and allergy medication in subjects with grass-related rhinoconjunctivitis.
NCT01332786
The purpose of this study is to determine whether tigecycline is safe and which dosage is most effective in the treatment of patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
NCT01266174
The purpose of this study is to determine if eltoprazine (as an adjunct to anti-psychotic medication) improves one or more aspects of cognitive impairment in adult schizophrenic patients.
NCT00083967
The purpose of this study is to test if denufosol will remove the fluid build-up in the eye so that the retina can be re-attached without invasive surgery.
NCT00119535
The study's primary objective is to determine whether the PRSS improves the optimal timing of photocoagulation in diabetic patients in VA. Secondary objectives include assessing if the program: (1) leads to improved compliance with retinopathy screening and surveillance visits; (2) improves patient and provider satisfaction with VA diabetic eye care; (3) reduces eye care visit rates among diabetics receiving eye care at VA; (4) decreases health care resource utilization; and (5) improves the cost-effectiveness of eye care for patients with diabetes
NCT00879944
The object of this research study is to examine these associations in children as very little is known about psoriasis and cardiovascular risk factors in the pediatric population.
NCT00917306
The open label study is designed to assess the safety and efficacy of 0.05% PEP005 Gel when applied to an area of skin containing 4-8 AK lesions on non-head locations.
NCT00371436
The purpose of this multi-site randomized clinical study is to test a model treatment program in a VA Audiology clinic, to evaluate its efficacy, ease of implementation, and acceptability to audiologists.
NCT00516048
The primary purpose of this study is to assess the anti-exenatide-antibody response to exenatide re-exposure as measured by anti-exenatide antibodies and incidence of treatment-emergent allergy and hypersensitivity reactions following a period of treatment interruption, in patients previously exposed to exenatide.
