NCT03474081
COPD is a progressive disease characterized by increasing obstruction to airflow and the progressive development of respiratory symptoms including chronic cough, increased sputum production, dyspnea and wheezing. Once-daily triple therapy of an Inhaled Corticosteroid/ Long-acting Muscarinic Receptor Antagonists/ Long Acting Beta-Agonist (ICS/LAMA/LABA) that is combination of FF/UMEC/VI in a single device is being developed with the aim of providing a new treatment option for the management of advanced COPD. The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate lung function and health related quality of life (HRQoL) after 84 days of treatment with a single inhaler triple therapy combination of FF/ UMEC/VI once daily via the ELLIPTA® dry powder inhaler (DPI) compared with tiotropium once daily via HANDIHALER®, in subjects with COPD. Subjects will be randomized 1:1 to receive FF/UMEC/VI or tiotropium in the morning for 84 days. Subjects will also receive albuterol/salbutamol as a rescue therapy throughout the study. Approximately 848 subjects with advanced COPD will be enrolled in the study. The total study duration will be approximately 17 weeks including, 4-week run-in period, 12-week treatment period and a 1-week follow-up period. ELLIPTA is a registered trademark of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) group of companies. HANDIHALER and RESPIMAT are registered trademarks of Boeringher Ingelheim.
NCT03979872
The purpose of this study will be to provide undergraduate students information about skin cancer risk and prevention. The study will last between 2-3 months. Everyone in the study will be asked to answer questionnaires and receive education about skin cancer risk factors and prevention. We will follow-up with participants by phone, text messages or e-mail in between study visits Participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups, the group will be in is decided by chance. Participant will either be assigned to: * A group that gets advice about what causes skin cancer and how to prevent it * A group that gets this advice and provides a saliva sample to receive personalized skin cancer risk genetic testing results * A group that gets this advice and receives a personalized photo that shows existing skin damage * A group that gets this advice, receives genetic testing results, and receives a personalized photo.
NCT03478787
The main objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of risankizumab compared with secukinumab for the treatment of adult subjects with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy.
NCT01710813
To collect uniform and meaningful data on patients with Pompe disease who experience anaphylaxis, severe allergic reactions, and/or signals of severe cutaneous and/or systemic immune complex-mediated reactions following treatment with alglucosidase alfa.
NCT01994109
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MYOBLOC in the treatment of Sialorrhea (drooling), which can be a symptom of many disease conditions. MYOBLOC will be injected directly into the salivary glands. MYOBLOC has been shown in previous trials to safely decrease saliva production, thereby demonstrating its potential as a safe and effective treatment for troublesome sialorrhea.
NCT01939366
The purpose of this trial is to evaluate if cebranopadol is safe and can decrease pain in patients when compared to placebo (a tablet that does not contain active product) and when compared to a marketed product containing pregabalin (Lyrica®). Furthermore, this trial will be undertaken to find out if the patient's general health and well-being improves under trial treatment. The concentrations of cebranopadol in the blood will be investigated to get a better understanding of how it is absorbed from the gut, distributed and broken down in the body, and eliminated from the body.
NCT03126760
This study will enroll about 66 participants who experienced a relapse of RRMS that steroids did not help. The doctor will put participants into a treatment group. Each person has an equal chance of being in either one of two groups (like flipping a coin). One group will receive a shot of study medicine (called Acthar Gel) under their skin every day for 14 days. The other group will receive a shot every day for 14 days, too, but there is no medicine in it (called placebo).
NCT03211234
To assess the safety and efficacy of repeated intravitreal injections of DE-122 (low dose and high dose) given in combination with Lucentis® in subjects with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) compared with Lucentis® alone.
NCT03987074
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of study drug(s) in participants with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
NCT02574520
This is a research study of SABER® -Bupivacaine, an experimental medication designed to reduce pain for up to 3 days after surgery. Given once by the surgeon at the end of surgery, SABER® - Bupivacaine delivers a locally-acting pain reliever directly to the surgical wound. The purpose of this study is to measure how well it works in reducing pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy (surgery to remove the gall bladder) and to investigate the safety of SABER®-Bupivacaine (its side effects).
NCT03345407
Nemiralisib is being developed as an anti-inflammatory drug for the treatment of inflammatory airways disease. This study is designed to assess the dose response, efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of nemiralisib across a range of doses \[up to 750 micrograms (µg)\] compared with placebo. The study consists of a Screening Period, a 12-Week Treatment Period and a 12-Week Post-Treatment Follow-Up Period. Approximately 1,250 subjects with an acute moderate or severe exacerbation of COPD requiring standard of care (SoC) therapy will be randomized in this double-blind study. Subjects will be randomized to receive different doses of nemiralisib or placebo via ELLIPTA® inhaler. The total duration of study participation is approximately 6 months (170 days). ELLIPTA is the registered trademark of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) group of companies.
NCT01095497
The objectives of the study are to: 1. Evaluate the safety and tolerability of CINRYZE administered by subcutaneous injection in subjects with hereditary angioedema 2. Characterize the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of CINRYZE administered by subcutaneous injection 3. Assess the immunogenicity of CINRYZE following subcutaneous administration
NCT02124772
This was a 4-part (Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D), Phase I/IIa, multi-center, open label, study in pediatric subjects with refractory or recurrent tumors. Part A was a repeat dose, dose escalation and expansion phase that identified the recommended phase II dose (RP2D) of trametinib monotherapy. Part B evaluated the preliminary activity of trametinib monotherapy in 4 disease-specific cohorts of subjects. Part C was aimed to determine the safety, tolerability and preliminary activity of the RP2D of trametinib in combination with a limited dose escalation of dabrafenib. Part D evaluated the preliminary activity of trametinib in combination with dabrafenib in 2 disease-specific cohorts of subjects. The overall goal of this trial was to efficiently establish safe, pharmacologically relevant dose of trametinib monotherapy and trametinib in combination with dabrafenib in infants, children and adolescents and determine preliminary activity of trametinib monotherapy and trametinib in combination with dabrafenib in selected recurrent, refractory or unresectable childhood tumors.
NCT03005106
About 70 participants will be enrolled. They will have complex skin defects because of burns caused by heat. The burns will: * be on 3-49% of the participant's total body surface area (TBSA) * require surgery for skin replacement * include intact dermal elements The burns are called deep, partial-thickness thermal burns because the skin was damaged by heat but still has some dermis that was not damaged. The dermis is the layer of skin under the outer layer (epidermis). It is the thickest layer of the skin that provides strength and flexibility to the skin. All patients will receive both treatments, but on different areas of their burns. Their wounds will not be compared to other patients. One treatment area on their own body will be compared to the other one. This will help to find out if StrataGraft is safe and effective for deep partial thickness burns. It will also see if StrataGraft might help healing enough to use it instead of the patient's own healthy skin to repair the damage.
NCT02771509
