NCT01411852
Primary Aim: To determine the feasibility and safety of hypotensive resuscitation for the early treatment of patients with traumatic shock compared to standard fluid resuscitation. Primary Hypotheses: The null hypothesis regarding feasibility is that hypotensive resuscitation will result in the same volume of early crystalloid (normal saline) fluid administration compared to standard crystalloid resuscitation. The null hypothesis regarding safety is that hypotensive resuscitation will result in the same percent of patients surviving to 24 hours after 911 call received at dispatch compared to standard fluid resuscitation. Early resuscitation is defined as all fluid given until 2 hours after arrival in the Emergency Department or until hemorrhage control is achieved in the hospital, whichever occurs earlier.
NCT00656981
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the efficacy and safety of drospirenone 3 mg/ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg (DRSP/EE) in comparison with placebo in female subjects with moderate acne vulgaris during 6 treatment cycles
NCT01917630
To determine the effects of 12 weeks administration of different dose levels of ALV003 on the mucosal lining of the small intestine and symptoms in celiac disease patients.
NCT01809496
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of enhanced patient-centered counseling (PCC) and the influence of spousal involvement in pre-fitting counseling on hearing-aid outcomes.
NCT00651469
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the efficacy and safety of drospirenone 3 mg/ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg (DRSP/EE) in comparison with placebo in female subjects with moderate acne vulgaris during 6 treatment cycles.
NCT01224795
This is a study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a single dose of intravenous peramivir versus placebo in adolescents and adults with acute uncomplicated influenza.
NCT01752101
The primary objective is to identify a panel of plasma and/or serum proteins that differentiates the absence or presence of lung malignancy in samples obtained from subjects enrolled in this IRB/EC approved study with pulmonary nodules.
NCT00201643
The hypothesis is that administration of two courses of antenatal corticosteroids, compared to one course, will show a 40% reduction in the incidence of composite neonatal morbidity in patients delivering prior to 34 weeks' gestation.
NCT00963157
The purpose of this study is to see how the body reacts to different strengths of the H1N1 flu shot when it is given with or without an "adjuvant." An adjuvant is a substance that may cause the body to produce more antibodies when it is given with a vaccine. This study will also compare how age affects the body's response to the H1N1 flu shot. In this study, 3 strengths of the H1N1 flu shot will be tested combined with an adjuvant. In addition, 2 strengths of the H1N1 flu shot will be tested without adjuvant. Two H1N1 flu shots of the same strength, with or without adjuvant, will be given about 3 weeks apart. Participants will include up to 800 healthy adults, approximately 500 individuals ages 18-64 and 250 individuals greater than or equal to age 65. Study procedures include: physical exam, blood samples, completing a memory aid to record vaccine side effects, medications and daily oral temperature. Participants will be involved in study related procedures for up to 13 months.
NCT00798317
This trial will evaluate the safety and efficacy of microplasmin, administered as an intravitreal injection, in subjects with focal vitreomacular adhesion. In previously performed clinical trials, some patients treated with intravitreal microplasmin have had resolution of their underlying condition, including macular hole closure, without need for vitrectomy. This clinical trial is justified because the sponsor believes the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks.
NCT00982020
Open-label safety study of oral olanzapine treatment in adolescents, aged 13 to 17 years, with bipolar I disorder (manic or mixed episodes) or schizophrenia.
NCT01573286
This protocol outlines a randomized, open label trial examining the safety, pharmacology and efficacy of Glucagon like peptide 2 (GLP-2) in infants and children with intestinal failure. The investigators hypothesize that GLP-2 given subcutaneously in these patients will be well tolerated, and have similar metabolism to what has been shown in adults. The investigators also expect to show an improvement in the tolerance of enteral nutrition, and a decreased requirement for intravenous feeding.
NCT00059462
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of the experimental drug Bay 50-4798 in HIV positive patients receiving HAART and to test the drug's effect on the CD4+ T-cell count.
NCT01389700
Primary Objective: \- To determine the pharmacokinetics (PK) of a single intravenous (IV) dose of SAR279356 administered to intensive care unit (ICU) patients on mechanical ventilation Secondary Objectives: * To determine the safety and tolerability of SAR279356 * To evaluate the pharmacodynamics (PD) and immunogenicity of SAR279356 * Exploratory efficacy of SAR279356 on prevention of bacterial infections
NCT00791479
This is a study to demonstrate that different doses of once-weekly LY2189265 injected subcutaneously will have dose proportional effect on hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) at 12 weeks in participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
NCT00050778
This was a Phase II, randomized, open-label, rater-blinded, three-arm study comparing two different doses of alemtuzumab (Lemtrada™) and one dose of subcutaneous (SC) interferon beta-1a (Rebif®) in participants with early, active relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) who had not been previously treated with MS therapies other than steroids. The study was conducted for an initial period of 3 years and a follow-up to 5 years or more.
NCT01193153
This study will evaluate the efficacy of paliperidone palmitate compared with placebo in the delay of relapse of the symptoms of schizoaffective disorder. This study will also assess the safety and tolerability of paliperidone palmitate in patients with schizoaffective disorder.
NCT02191735
This clinical investigation is designed to demonstrate the performance characteristics of the RAMP® cardiac tests analyzed on the RAMP® 200 by non-laboratorial Operators at the point-of-care when compared to the results for the same samples analyzed on the RAMP® Reader.
NCT01687270
This is an open-label, single-arm study of sofosbuvir (GS-7977) and ribavirin (RBV) in adults who have had a liver transplant which has become re-infected with hepatitis C. The treatment period is 24 weeks with up to 48 weeks of follow up. The total time in this study will last up to 72 weeks not including the screening visit.
NCT01026233
The purpose of this study is to evaluate cardiac safety of brentuximab vedotin (SGN-35) in patients with CD30-positive cancers. The study will assess electrical activity of the heart before and after brentuximab vedotin administration. Patients who have stable or improving disease may receive up to 1 year of brentuximab vedotin treatment.
