NCT04832789
Primary Research Question for the Full ULTIMATE Randomized Clinical Trial (RCT): What is the effect of ultra-protective ventilation facilitated by extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) versus best current conventional ventilation (CV) on all-cause hospital mortality among patients with early moderate-severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)? Secondary Research Questions: Among patients with early moderate-severe ARDS, what is the effect of ultra-protective ventilation versus CV on: (1) duration of mechanical ventilation; (2) duration of ICU and hospital stay; (3) organ dysfunction; (4) barotrauma; and (5) mortality at other time-points (ICU discharge, 28-day, 60-day)? The ULTIMATE Pilot Study: Before embarking on a definitive multinational trial to address the questions listed above, the ULTIMATE Pilot Study has these 3 specific feasibility objectives: 1. To assess adherence to our explicit mechanical ventilation protocols, with particular focus on delivered tidal volumes in both groups; 2. To estimate the rate of patient recruitment and understand barriers to recruitment; and 3. To measure and understand the reasons for crossovers or rescue by ECMO in the control group. In addition, we will monitor safety issues, recording serious adverse events in both groups.
NCT03137992
The purpose of this study is to show bioequivalence of test product to reference product based on baseline-adjusted forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1).
NCT02422485
This is a multi-center, open label, pilot futility clinical trial of the safety, tolerability, pharmacodynamics and preliminary efficacy of oral salsalate in up to 10 patients with PSP.
NCT01468701
In this part of the Registry Program patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF) at risk for stroke are enrolled to characterize the target population and to collect real world data on important outcome events. For administrative purposes the study is divided into two protocol numbers: 1160.129 for all non-EU (European Union) and non-EEA (European Economic Area) countries, and 1160.136 for EU and EEA countries. The total number of patients enrolled in both protocols is estimated to be 48,000 patients, and all these patients will be included in the data analysis for study 1160.129.
NCT00139776
To determine whether "continuous use" of celecoxib over a 6-month period is more efficacious than "usual or intermittent use" in preventing spontaneous osteoarthritis flares of the knee and hip.
NCT03751657
The study compares 2 medicines for people with type 2 diabetes: insulin 287 (a new medicine) and insulin glargine (a medicine doctors can already prescribe). The study doctors will test insulin 287 to see how well it works compared to insulin glargine. The study will also test if insulin 287 is safe. The study participants will either get insulin 287 or insulin glargine (100 units/mL) - which treatment the participants get is decided by chance. The participants will need to inject their selves every day about the same time. Once a week the participant will need to take 1 extra injection on the same day of the week. The participants will have 16 clinic visits and 14 phone calls with the study doctor. During the study, the doctors will ask you to: 1) measure your blood sugar every day with a blood glucose meter using a finger prick, 2) write down different information in a paper diary daily and return this to your doctor, 3) wear a medical device to measure your blood sugar all the time for 2 weeks 5 times during the study.
NCT03360006
This is an open-label, Phase 1, dose-escalation (Segment 1) and expansion (Segment 2) study to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and/or the recommended phase two dose (RPTD), and to assess the safety, preliminary efficacy, and pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of ABBV-744 in participants with relapsed/refractory Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
NCT01615120
Protocol G200712 is a Phase II, exploratory study to assess the effects of GTx-758 on serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) response ans serum PSA progression in men with Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC) on Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) with luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonists, LHRH antagonists, or orchidectomy. This study will also assess the venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk of lower doses of GTx-758.
NCT00406315
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate change in weight as a result of switching from quetiapine to ziprasidone, in subjects with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder who have failed to achieve a satisfactory clinical response to quetiapine due to lack of efficacy or poor tolerability.
NCT00141271
This is a 6-week trial that evaluates the efficacy and safety of Geodon (ziprasidone) in outpatient subjects ages 18 and older with Bipolar Disorder type I, depressed. Subjects are required to undergo a washout period of at least 7 days of any prior med.
NCT00265330
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of ziprasidone during long-term open-label administration in children and adolescents (ages 10-17) with bipolar I disorder (manic or mixed)
NCT00257192
The purpose of this study is to determine if flexibly-dosed ziprasidone is safe and effective for the treatment of adolescents (ages 13-17) with schizophrenia
NCT01011179
This study will evaluate the feasibility of "Teens Taking Charge: Managing Arthritis On-line" intervention that will help adolescents with arthritis to better manage their disease and improve their health-related quality of life (HRQL).
NCT02848742
Study to evaluate the ability of the Dermal Cooling System to reduce pigmentation in benign pigmented lesions.
NCT02290028
The QP ExCELs study is designed to confirm safety and efficacy of the BIOTRONIK Sentus OTW QP left ventricular leads to satisfy FDA requirements for regulatory approval of the leads in the US. The Sentus OTW QP leads received FDA approval on May 4, 2017. Long-term safety of the BIOTRONIK Sentus OTW QP left ventricular leads will be confirmed during the ongoing post approval phase (US sites only). A protocol update was implemented on September 6, 2019 to transition the long-term follow up for the ongoing Sentus QP Study to a new EP PASSION real-world data methodology.
NCT00280566
The purpose of this study is to determine if ziprasidone plus a mood stabilizer will continue to be a safe and effective treatment regimen for adults with Bipolar I Disorder (manic or mixed symptoms) after they have achieved 8 consecutive weeks of symptom improvement on the regimen.
NCT03478657
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of airways and lungs that results in hyper-reactivity and clinically relevant episodes of wheezing. This study has been designed to assess the correct use and ease of use of the ELLIPTA® DPI in pediatric subjects with asthma. ELLIPTA DPI is easy to use, requires few steps, is consistent in dosing and eliminates the hand-breath co-ordination required for metered dose inhalers (MDIs). Subjects will be stratified by age into two strata: Stratum 1: subjects in the age group of 5 to 7 years and Stratum 2: Subjects in the age group of 8 to 11 years. All subjects will be trained by Health care professionals (HCP) for the correct use of ELLIPTA DPI. Subjects will be given three chances to attempt correct use of ELLIPTA DPI; subsequently, if the subject is not successful, the parent/guardian will be able to help instruct the subject on the correct use of the ELLIPTA DPI, for two more attempts. The subjects who will be enrolled in the study will take placebo ELLIPTA DPI once daily. After 28 days subjects will be randomized in 1:1 to receive a questionnaire (Version A and B). After completion of the questionnaire on ELLIPTA DPI ease of use, subject's ability to use ELLIPTA DPI correctly will be re-assessed. Approximately 219 subjects will be screened to participate in the study. The study will be conducted for 28 days. ELLIPTA is a registered trademark of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) group of companies.
