The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is an important stabilizer of the knee. Orthopedic surgeons replace the torn ligament during ACL reconstruction surgery. Surgical trauma initiates an acute inflammatory response, including swelling and pain, that leads to restricted joint motion and loss of function. OMS103HP was designed to deliver targeted therapeutic agents directly to the surgical site during the arthroscopic procedure to inhibit inflammation and pain before they can begin. The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness and safety of OMS103HP in improving knee function following ACL reconstruction. Secondary benefits being evaluated include reduced postoperative pain, improvement in knee range of motion and earlier return to work.

Chemoresponse assays (lab test) measure the effect that chemotherapy treatment has on a patient's cancer cells in the lab. This test has shown success in a retrospective study in predicting how an individual patient's tumor will respond to a given chemotherapy and how treatment utilizing an agent that the test said that a patient's cells would be sensitive too corresponds to a longer progression free interval. This study will determine the ability of two tests used to predict the success of chemotherapy in recurrent, persistent, or refractory cancer of the ovaries, fallopian tube(s) or peritoneum by measuring how long patients live without progression.

This study will evaluate the safety of a new experimental drug, IL-7, in people with HIV infection. Animal studies have shown that IL-7 can improve the function and number of infection-fighting cells called T lymphocytes, or T cells. If this study shows that IL-7 is safe, additional studies will be done to see if it can improve the function or numbers of T-cells in HIV-infected persons. HIV-infected persons who have been receiving HAART therapy for at least 12 months before enrolling in the study and have been stable on this treatment for at least 3 months before enrollment may be eligible for this study. Participants have about 10 clinic visits over 3 months. They receive three injections of IL-7, one injection a week for 3 consecutive weeks. The injections are given as a shot under the skin in the arm or leg. On the day of each injection, the participant stays in the clinic for up to 8 hours or longer for observation and collection of blood samples. Three additional visits (one every 3 months) may be scheduled. During the study visits the following may be done: * Medical history, physical examination, blood tests every visit. * Electrocardiogram (EKG) at study days 0 (day of first dose), 1, 7 (day of second dose), 14 (day of third dose) and 21. * Chest x-ray study on day 21. * Blood sample collections at frequent intervals during the first 96 hours after the first dose administration. A catheter (thin plastic tube) may be put into a vein in the arm and left in place to allow several blood samples to be drawn without repeated needle sticks. * Urine tests several times during the study.

Study purpose: The disease course of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is variable. During the course of the disease some patients will get better, some will stay the same, and others will get worse. Currently doctors do not have any way to predict an individual patients disease course. The purpose of this study is to determine if 'biomarkers' such as proteins or genes isolated at the time of diagnosis can be used to predict the disease course. These 'biomarkers' will be obtained from samples of blood, from a procedure call a bronchoscopy, and in some patients from extra tissue obtained by a surgical lung biopsy.

Congenital deficiency of factor XIII is an extremely rare inherited disorder associated with potentially life-threatening bleeding. Factor XIII Concentrate is given to patients whose blood is lacking factor XIII. Factor XIII Concentrate works by assisting blood in the usual clotting process, thereby preventing bleeding. In this study, patients will be treated with FXIII Concentrate (Human) and followed closely to determine that they receive the dose of FXIII Concentrate (Human) that will best minimize the chance of bruising and bleeding. The purpose of the study is to provide FXIII Concentrate (Human) to patients until the product becomes commercially available in the United States.

The CAMUS trial will test Saw palmetto in about 369 men. Men who decide to be part of the CAMUS trial will be given one out of two possible treatments at random. One out of every two men would get an inactive placebo treatment. One out of every two men would get Saw palmetto pills. This kind of scientific study is the best way to find out if the plant extracts really work to prevent men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) from getting worse. During the study, men will not know which of the two treatments they are assigned to. They will be followed very closely by a study team every 12 weeks to see how they are doing. Men in the CAMUS trial will be studied over 72 weeks. Tests and all medications needed as part of the study will be provided at no charge to the participant. Participants will be responsible for all other costs not associated with the study tests and medications. All information on study participants will be held in the strictest confidence and no one would have access to patient information other than the required authorized health care and research personnel.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. Combining docetaxel with imatinib mesylate may be effective treatment for androgen-independent prostate cancer and bone metastases. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying docetaxel and imatinib mesylate to see how well they work compared to docetaxel alone in treating patients with androgen-independent prostate cancer and bone metastases.
