NCT01989572
This randomized phase III trial studies sargramostim or vaccine therapy alone to see how well they work compared to sargramostim and vaccine therapy together in preventing disease recurrence in patients with melanoma that has been removed by surgery. Sargramostim may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop tumor cells from growing. Vaccines made from peptides may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells. It is not yet known whether yeast derived sargramostim and vaccine therapy are more effective alone or together in preventing recurrence of melanoma.
NCT03643679
There is a growing body of evidence revealing disproportionately higher rates of tobacco use among sexual and gender minority (SGM) individuals, compared to their heterosexual peers. These disparities have led organizations to support the inclusion of SGM in all local, state, and national tobacco prevention and control activities. In an attempt to leverage the online milieu for health-related interventions, mobile apps have been created to support tobacco cessation. However, evidence-based apps promoted by the National Cancer Institute are unpopular, remain poorly supported, and were not studied for use by SGM persons. Commercial apps, on the other hand, have been downloaded millions of times, contain many valuable features, and enjoy better infrastructure. Unfortunately, they are not evidence-based and have not been rigorously tested. The University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) is currently conducting a randomized controlled trial to assess the feasibility and efficacy of using the Kwit tobacco cessation app with patients at UPMC Montefiore and Presbyterian hospitals (PI: Chu). It is a pragmatic clinical trial applying a patient-centered outcomes framework to ensure that-rather than focusing only on successful cessation-the study includes measurements for quality of life, mobility, and social interactions. We propose to extend the study to underrepresented SGM young adults. Survey measures will be adapted as needed to address issues specific to the SGM population.
NCT04083469
This research will explore the feasibility of leveraging social network analysis to identify 6th grade opinion leaders to lead a school-based e-cigarette intervention. The project will be conducted for 6th graders in 8 schools in the Pittsburgh area.
NCT02515890
The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of pain on facilitating long-term auditory memory in the presence and absence of distinct intravenous anesthetics. The ability to identify previously presented words from a list assessed the degree of memory formation. In a subset of subjects, functional magnetic resonance imaging was used to identify the neural correlates of memory inhibition or facilitation by the combination of pain and anesthetic used.
NCT02654054
This study seeks to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of elagolix alone and in combination with estradiol/norethindrone acetate for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding associated with uterine fibroids in premenopausal women.
NCT02812875
CA-170 is a rationally designed and orally available, small molecule that directly targets the Programmed death-ligands 1 and 2 (PD-L1/PD-L2), and V-domain Ig suppressor of T cell activation (VISTA) immune checkpoints and results in activation of T cell proliferation and cytokine production. This is a multi-center, open-label, Phase 1 trial of orally administered CA-170 in adult patients with advanced solid tumors or lymphomas who have progressed or are non-responsive to available therapies and for which no standard therapy exists.
NCT03210168
This study evaluates the safety, tolerability, and activity of BioFe in the dietary management of iron deficiency in adults.
NCT02138838
The primary objective was to evaluate the efficacy of cinacalcet for reducing the plasma intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) level by ≥ 30%.
NCT01785069
This is a prospective, multicenter study of the safety and effectiveness of NATRELLE® 410 Highly Cohesive, Anatomically Shaped, Silicone-Filled X-Style and L-Style Breast Implants.
NCT00277810
The purpose of the study is to determine the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of 3 doses of lecozotan in combination with a cholinesterase inhibitor in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD).
NCT00891865
The purpose of this study is to determine whether respiratory viral infections increase the risk of bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), obliterative bronchiolitis (OB), death, or retransplantation in children who have received lung transplants.
NCT02548442
Development and Clinical Evaluation of the Stemina Metabolic Biomarker-Based Test to Diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder in Early Childhood.
NCT01290367
The purpose of this study is to compare two doses of immunoselected, culture-expanded, nucleated, allogeneic adult MPCs when combined with hyaluronic acid to two control intradiscal injections in subjects with chronic low back pain due to moderate Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) at one lumbar level from L1 to S1. All investigational subjects in this study will undergo injection of either 6 million (M) or 18M cells in a hyaluronic acid carrier into the degenerated lumbar disc's nucleus pulposus. All control subjects will undergo an intradiscal control injection with either saline or hyaluronic acid only
NCT01895777
The main objectives of this large phase IIb/III paediatric study are to assess the efficacy and safety of dabigatran etexilate relative to standard of care and to document the appropriateness of the proposed dabigatran etexilate dosing algorithm for use in patients from birth to less than 18 years of age.
NCT01749397
This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of veliparib when given together with floxuridine in treating patients with epithelial ovarian, primary peritoneal cavity, or fallopian tube cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Veliparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as floxuridine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving veliparib together with floxuridine may kill more tumor cells.
NCT01047839
The primary objective is to assess the safety profile of IC51 in a pediatric population from regions where JEV is not endemic
NCT01928537
This study will examine the effect intravenously administered rigosertib has on the relationship between bone marrow blasts response and overall survival in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) patients who have 5-30% bone marrow blasts and who progressed on or after treatment with azacitidine or decitabine.
NCT02634151
The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of multiple doses of gemcabene 600 mg QD compared to placebo in patients with hypercholesterolemia not adequately controlled on high-intensity or moderate-intensity stable statin therapy. Patients with HeFH, ASCVD, or otherwise uncontrolled, may be included with baseline LDL-C value ≥ 100 mg/dL. Subjects were randomized 1:1 to gemcabene 600 mg once daily (QD) or placebo.
NCT02387125
This is a Phase 1b, open label, multi-center study of CMB305 (sequentially administered LV305 \[a dendritic cell-targeting viral vector expressing the NY-ESO-1 gene\] and G305 \[NY-ESO-1 recombinant protein plus GLA-SE\]) in patients with melanoma, sarcoma, ovarian cancer, or non-small cell lung cancer that express NY-ESO-1.
NCT02443883
The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics of administering various dose regimens of ramucirumab in participants with advanced gastric cancer whose disease has progressed during or following prior chemotherapy.
