NCT00239681
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of long-term therapy with rosuvastatin compared with a placebo, and to evaluate whether treatment with rosuvastatin might be effective in reducing the risk of major cardiovascular events.
NCT00805025
Over the 70-day study period, eligible patients visited the study clinic every 2 weeks (total of 6 visits) and received a 28-day course of aztreonam for inhalation solution (AZLI). The Quality of Life-Bronchiectasis (QOL-B) questionnaire was completed at several time points during the study, in additional to pulmonary function testing and other standard procedures.
NCT01732614
This trial seeks to prove that sub-lethal laser power levels are as effective and less damaging than traditional laser. Diabetic macular edema (DME) affects approximately 29% of diabetic patients with a disease duration of 20 or more years and is one of the most frequent causes of vision loss in this population. The Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) demonstrated a significant benefit of laser photocoagulation for the treatment of clinically significant macular edema, reducing the incidence of vision loss by approximately 50% at 3 years' follow-up.
NCT01185288
This study will investigate the efficacy of both low and high doses of methotrexate (MTX) in combination with open-label adalimumab (ADA) in patients who have had an inadequate response to high dose of MTX. The study will also evaluate the pharmacokinetics and safety of the two regimens of MTX in combination with ADA in participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
NCT00389779
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo- and active-controlled study of a new experimental drug called darusentan. Darusentan is not currently approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which means that a doctor cannot prescribe this drug. The purpose of this study is to determine if darusentan is effective in reducing systolic and diastolic hypertension despite treatment with full doses of three or more antihypertensive drugs, including a diuretic. Subjects will be randomized to darusentan (optimized dose), an active comparator, or placebo, administered orally. The treatment period for this trial is 14 weeks.
NCT00103662
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the combination of AMD3100 (plerixafor) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF, generic name of filgrastim) is better than G-CSF alone to mobilize and collect the optimal number of stem cells in multiple myeloma patients for autologous transplantation.
NCT01002950
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the investigational drug ACU-4429 in subjects with geographic atrophy.
NCT01059565
The purpose of this research study was to determine if an experimental drug called Aztreonam for Inhalation Solution (AZLI) was safe and effective to treat Burkholderia lung infections in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). Spirometry was used to assess pulmonary function, and the revised Cystic Fibrosis Questionnaire (CFQ-R) was used to assess quality of life. The CFQ-R is a validated, patient-reported outcome tool used to measure health-related quality of life for children and adults with CF. The study consisted of a 24-week randomized phase, and a 24-week open-label phase. Primary and secondary efficacy analyses were conducted for the 24-week randomized phase only. Safety data were collected for both the randomized and open-label phases.
NCT00330369
This is a research study of a new experimental drug called darusentan. Darusentan is not currently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in the United States, which means that a doctor cannot prescribe this drug. The purpose of this study is to determine if darusentan is effective in reducing systolic blood pressure in subjects with resistant systolic hypertension, despite treatment with full doses of three or more antihypertensive drugs, including a diuretic.
NCT00563706
The primary purpose of this protocol is to establish the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of vabicaserin (SCA-136) using a once a day capsule in subjects with acute exacerbations of schizophrenia.
NCT00455429
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of four dose regimens (pattern of giving treatment) of JNJ-26113100 in the treatment of adult Atopic Dermatitis (\[AD\]; skin rash, inflammation) that is moderate in severity.
NCT00590720
The main objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of multiple fixed doses of MEDI-528 in adult patients with stable asthma and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB).
NCT00440648
This is a double-blind, randomized, cross-over study conducted at centers within the United States. The study consists of five periods: an up to two-week Screening Period, a 5-week Run-In Period, two eight-week study treatment periods and a two-week Washout Period. Patients are assigned randomly (1:1) to one of two treatment sequences: sevelamer carbonate for eight weeks followed by sevelamer hydrochloride for eight weeks or sevelamer hydrochloride for eight weeks followed by sevelamer carbonate for eight weeks
NCT00445302
Eligible male and female subjects with renal impairment (aged 18-78 years) and healthy control subjects (aged 35 to 78 years) will be enrolled in the study. Subjects with renal impairment will be enrolled and entered into three groups based on their renal function: Mild Impairment, Moderate Impairment, and Severe Impairment(not requiring dialysis). Control subjects will have normal renal function. The screening visits will occur within 14 days prior to plerixafor administration on study day one. Subjects will be monitored for 10 hours following administration of the study drug. In addition, subjects will return to the clinic at 24 and 48 hours after plerixafor administration for blood samples and safety assessments.
NCT00144300
To determine if there is any difference in the presence of retinal deterioration in PD patients treated with pramipexole IR versus ropinirole as monitored by comprehensive ophthalmologic assessments from baseline to the end of study at two years.
NCT01410188
This is a study of the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (measurement of drug levels in the blood), and intraocular pressure lowering effects of OPA-6566 ophthalmic solution in subjects with primary open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
NCT00507689
The objective of this 96-week study was to evaluate the safety and antiviral efficacy of emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (FTC/TDF, coformulated; Truvada®) with or without hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIg) in preventing the recurrence of chronic hepatitis B following liver transplantation, in participants who were chronically infected with hepatitis B prior to transplantation. Prior to enrollment, participants were required to have received at least 12 weeks of HBIg therapy following liver transplantation. Enrolled participants then received FTC/TDF plus HBIg for an initial 24-week pre-randomization treatment period. Participants who completed the pre-randomization period and who achieved sustained viral suppression were randomized to continue treatment with FTC/TDF with or without HBIg for an additional 72 weeks (randomized period). The antiviral efficacy of treatment was assessed by measuring hepatitis B virus levels in the blood (HBV DNA). Safety and tolerability was monitored by assessing adverse events and various laboratory parameters.
NCT00268957
Approximately 207 patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on hemodialysis will be entered into this study at approximately 26 centers in the United States. This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of sevelamer carbonate powder dosed once-a-day (QD) with the largest meal compared to sevelamer hydrochloride tablets dosed three-times-per-day (TID) with meals. The total length of participation is approximately 24 weeks.
