NCT01727141
This study will assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of QVA149 in patients with moderate to severe airflow limitation.
NCT02720289
This study compares a video-based social learning method to the traditional didactic method as a new way to teach caregivers about child passenger safety, including how to install a car seat. Half of the caregivers will attend the video-based social learning class, while the other half will attend the traditional didactic class. The investigators hypothesize that the video-based social learning method will lead to an equal or greater increase in caregiver child passenger safety proficiency when compared to the traditional didactic method.
NCT02156375
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the pharmacokinetic (PK) (blood levels) comparability of 2 different formulations of ustekinumab, 90 milligram per milliliter (mg/mL) liquid in vial (LIV) and 5 mg/mL LIV, following a single intravenous administration of 6 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) ustekinumab, diluted in saline, in healthy participants.
NCT01599936
There is no FDA approved therapy for the treatment of scorpion envenomation. Centruroides scorpion envenomation produces a pattern of neurotoxicity with a spectrum of severity ranging from trivial to life threatening. Patients stung by Centruroides scorpions develop a clinical syndrome which may require sedation with benzodiazepines and observation for 6 to 28 hours of intensive care monitoring. A safe therapy is necessary to halt the progression of symptoms early in the clinical course while avoiding the clinical deterioration that can occur en route to a tertiary facility. Alacramyn® is anticipated to be safer and more effective than the present standard of care, midazolam, and faster-acting thus eliminating the need to transport most rural patients and reducing hospitalization time.
NCT02131311
This study will evaluate the effectiveness of the pessary device by assessing reduction in urine leakage in approximately 80 women with SUI. Efficacy will be assessed by pad weight gain, frequency of stress urinary incontinence events, and a quality of life questionnaire.
NCT00580216
The objective is to evaluate whether once weekly subcutaneous (SC) injection of idrabiotaparinux sodium (biotinylated idraparinux) is at least as efficient to prevent clots in brain and in the other organs than oral international normalized ratio (INR) adjusted-dose warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).
NCT00203424
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of bevacizumab plus erlotinib following radical prostatectomy.
NCT01082549
To evaluate the overall survival (OS) of patients with advanced squamous cell lung cancer receiving the combination of gemcitabine/carboplatin either with or without Iniparib. Based on data generated by BiPar/Sanofi, it is concluded that iniparib does not possess characteristics typical of the PARP inhibitor class. The exact mechanism has not yet been fully elucidated, however based on experiments on tumor cells performed in the laboratory, iniparib is a novel investigational anti-cancer agent that induces gamma-H2AX (a marker of DNA damage) in tumor cell lines, induces cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase in tumor cell lines, and potentiates the cell cycle effects of DNA damaging modalities in tumor cell lines. Investigations into potential targets of iniparib and its metabolites are ongoing.
NCT00790192
Lurasidone HCl is a compound being developed for the treatment of schizophrenia. This clinical study is designed to test the hypothesis that lurasidone is effective, tolerable, and safe as compared with quetiapine XR short term among acutely psychotic patients with chronic schizophrenia.
NCT02013531
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of flexibly dosed adjunctive brexpiprazole treatment in subjects with major depressive disorder and anxiety symptoms, who are experiencing an inadequate selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI)/serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) response.
NCT01377233
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of once weekly dosing of zicronapine, compared to daily dosing of zicronapine.
NCT01128452
This study is a 4-week, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled monotherapy study in patients with treatment-resistant major depression. After confirmation of treatment-resistance in a prospective treatment period with citalopram, each patient will be treated with either EVT 101 once daily or placebo for 28 consecutive days.
NCT00983892
Given the growing strain on the Veterans Administration resulting from increasing caseloads of cancer patients, interventions are badly needed that assist patients in managing their illness, improve quality of life and avoid acute episodes that result in urgent care use and increased mortality. Previous studies have found that cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy can effectively manage their own symptoms when monitored using automated telephone calls. Such technology, however, may challenge the number of Veterans who lack social support and/or independence. The goal was to develop and test a technology that not only monitors patients automatically by telephone, but also gives them self management advice and engages a friend or family member to serve as a CarePartner willing to play a limited role in identifying patient symptoms and psychosocial needs to reinforce self management and provide social support. The investigators found that this technology indeed helped patients better control their symptoms, especially when a caregiver participated in the program along with them.
NCT02228850
The purpose of this study is to evaluate pharmacodynamics (PD) in adult subjects with a diagnosis of Raynaud's Phenomenon secondary to Systemic Sclerosis (SSc).
NCT00241280
Study in the US intended to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a Johnson \& Johnson Vision Care Inc, (JJVCI) contact lens for use on an extended-wear basis for up to 7 days (6 nights).
NCT01403636
Primary Objective: \- To evaluate the efficacy of SAR245409 as determined by the objective response rate (ORR) in patients with 1 of following relapsed or refractory lymphoma or leukemia subtypes: mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), follicular lymphoma (FL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), or diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) Secondary Objectives: * To assess duration of response, progression free survival (PFS), and proportion of patients with PFS at 6 months (24 weeks) in patients with either MCL, FL, CLL/SLL or DLBCL treated with SAR245409 * To evaluate the safety and tolerability of SAR245409 in patients with MCL, FL, CLL/SLL or DLBCL * To further characterize the plasma pharmacokinetics (PK) of SAR245409 in patients with MCL, FL, CLL/SLL or DLBCL
NCT02255123
This study is a multicenter, non-randomized, retrospective study to collect long term (4 years post-transplant) clinical outcome data on subjects previously enrolled in the CTOT-05 study (NCT00466804) to evaluate participant and graft survival.
NCT01433354
The purpose of this study is to generate long-term safety, tolerability and efficacy data for AFQ056 in eligible adolescent patients with FXS who have participated in the CAFQ056B2214 study, the PK study CAFQ056B2131, or another study of AFQ056 which included FXS patients below 18 years of age provided the patient is at least 12 years of age at the time of entry into the current study.
NCT01173497
The purpose of the study is to investigate the response rate for triple negative breast cancer patients with brain metastasis when INIPARIB is used in combination with irinotecan.
NCT00024167
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radioactive substances such as strontium-89 may relieve bone pain associated with prostate cancer. It is not yet known whether chemotherapy is more effective with or without strontium-89 in treating bone metastases. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying giving chemotherapy together with strontium-89 to see how well it works compared to chemotherapy alone in treating patients with prostate cancer that has spread to the bone.
