NCT02628327
1. To administer a questionnaire to patients seen by Wills Eye Glaucoma Department physicians at Wills Eye Hospital assessing satisfaction with their office visit, vision related quality of life, and related issues. 2. To collect and de-identify information from each participant's medical chart related to their care including information pertaining to demographics, disease severity, and prior and current treatment 3. To assess the correlations between demographic factors, vision related quality of life, eye disease, and treatments with patient satisfaction survey responses.
NCT00430287
The purpose of this study is to determine how well the DDLS (Disc Damage Likelihood Scale) (which is a method used by the eye doctor to evaluate how healthy the optic nerve is) measures up to the standard glaucoma tests: OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), the HRT (Heidelberg Retinal Tomography) and the HVF (Humphrey Visual Field).
NCT00000930
The purpose of this study is to see how HIV reacts in the immune systems of patients who have recently been infected with HIV. This study also examines HIV's resistance to anti-HIV drugs in newly infected patients. Certain populations are good candidates for participation in HIV vaccine trials. These groups include men who have sex with men, IV drug users, and women at risk of getting HIV through heterosexual contact. Learning how HIV behaves in these populations once they become infected can help with the planning of future HIV vaccine studies.
NCT00088608
The study treatment period is 15 days in length and includes patients with pituitary Cushing's disease who are candidates for surgical intervention as well as and patients who have recurrent Cushing's post operatively.
NCT00704912
The goal of this three-armed randomized controlled trial is to establish the relative roles of treatment of hyperandrogenism versus obesity (as the largest modifiable factor contributing to insulin resistance) in treating infertility and improving pregnancy outcomes among obese PCOS women. The investigators hypothesize that the key to restoring ovulation leading to live birth is to correct hyperandrogenism with oral contraceptive pills, but the key to avoiding later pregnancy complications is to improve insulin sensitivity with weight loss.
NCT00619762
This prospective, multicenter, open-label study will assess the clinical outcomes of the LTM product in three planned analyses. The primary objective of this study is to prospectively assess the clinical outcomes associated with the use of LTM in two-stage (expander then permanent implant) immediate post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.
NCT00704431
Subjects will receive their first dose of darapladib in the clinical research unit (CRU), and the remaining 9 days of dosing will occur at home. Subjects will record any adverse events throughout the dosing period in a paper diary. Subjects will return to the CRU 10-14 days after the last dose of darapladib for a follow-up visit. The total study duration for each subject including the screening, treatment and follow-up periods will be approximately 4 weeks.
NCT00903175
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of first-line RAD001 followed by second-line sunitinib versus the opposite sequence: first-line sunitinib followed by second-line RAD001 for the treatment of patients with MRCC.
NCT00000535
To test the efficacy of weight loss and sodium restriction, alone and combined, in maintaining the normotensive state following withdrawal of antihypertensive medications in an elderly cohort. Conducted in collaboration with the National Institute on Aging.
NCT01002573
The primary objective of the study is to determine the superiority of a single dose of intravenous ibuprofen compared to acetaminophen for the treatment of fever during the first two hours of treatment.
NCT00774787
The purpose of this study is to determine if use of topical imiquimod cream after cryotherapy of actinic keratoses reduces the total number of lesions (those treated with cryotherapy and new ones) at follow-up.
NCT02708524
This is a multi-site, 5-visit, double-masked, dispensing study comparing an investigational contact lens with currently-marketed contact lenses. The objective of the study is to evaluate the comfort of the lenses when worn for 30 (-2/+6) days on daily wear modality.
NCT02522208
This study will investigate cardiovascular parameters using echocardiographic and pharmacokinetics during a daily dose of BiDil and BiDil Extended Release (XR) compared to a study drug free day.
NCT01704742
This study will help researchers learn more about non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma and how it is treated in Kenya. Researchers want to see if having certain viruses like Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and Kaposi's Sarcoma Herpes Virus (KSHV) affects lymphoma. Patients in Kenya who agree to be in this study will let the resesarchers look at their medical record, follow their normal cancer care, and have blood drawn to look at different proteins and viruses. Researchers would also like to look at part of the original tumor that was taken out of each patient. Some of these samples will be stored at Kenyatta National Hospital and research will be done on them later. This study does not involve any change in treatment, but only allows the study team to follow how a patient in Kenya with lymphoma is treated.
NCT01232634
The purpose of this study is to test the external validity of the systemic ultrasound protocol for data acquisition and interpretation, in order to diagnose soft tissue and osteochondral abnormalities in hemophilic children.
