The Hemophilia Growth and Development Study (HGDS) nearly 25 years ago showed haemophilia and HIV impacted brain development, thinking, and behaviour in children and adolescents. The eTHINK study is designed to understand whether advances in hemophilia treatment have removed any impact of hemophilia. If there still is an impact of hemophilia, the eTHINK study will help to identify which children or adolescents are still at risk, and how to screen other children. Participants and their child will participate in a comprehensive assessment of child's brain development, thinking and behavior through completing tests and questionnaires. There is only one study visit of 1 to 1.5 hours with no follow-up required

This study, conducted at the University of Pennsylvania s Newborn Nursery, the Children s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Exton Specialty Care Center, will examine how different infant diets may affect estrogen activity in babies. During pregnancy, babies are exposed to the female hormone estrogen from their mother. Estrogen plays a key role in the development of breasts and milk production, as well as the development of the uterus. The effects of these hormones can be seen when babies are examined. Between 6 and 12 months of age, the effects are reduced. Breast milk and some infant formulas may contain compounds that can act like female hormones in the body and may prolong the estrogen effects. This study has two parts. Part 1 studies the physical development of babies fed different ways. Part 2 studies how hormone levels in babies differ depending on what they are being fed. Babies may participate in one or both parts. Part 1 includes babies 0 to 6 months of age; part 2 includes babies 0 to 12 months of age. In each part of the study, parents may choose to have their babies evaluated from one to four times. Full-term infants (age 37 to 41 weeks gestational age) from birth to 12 months of age who weigh from 2501 to 4499 grams (about 5.5 to 10 pounds) at birth and who have no chromosomal abnormalities, major malformations, or endocrine problems may be eligible for this study. Male infants must have palpable testes. Infants being fed a diet of breast milk, soy milk, or cow s milk will be included. Study procedures include the following: Part 1 * Feeding history: the parent provides information about the baby s dietary intake since birth. * Length, weight, and head circumference: the baby s measurements are taken. * Physical examination: the baby s physical maturity is assessed by examination of the skin, breasts, and external sex organs. * Breast secretions: the baby s breast buds are gently pressed during the physical examination to look for a milky-white substance that some babies produce during the first year of life. If the substance appears, a specimen will be collected. * Vaginal cells: for baby girls, the opening of the vaginal area is gently swabbed with a sterile Q-tip to assess the maturity of the vaginal lining. Part 2 * Feeding history and length, weight and head circumference measurements as described above. * Urine: a urine sample is collected in a cotton diaper or a urine collection bag. * aliva: a saliva sample is collected by gently swabbing the inside of the baby s mouth 1 hour after a morning feeding to remove any left over milk. * Hair: a lock of hair, 1/2-inch wide and 1 to 2 inches long is taken from 12-month old babies. * Blood: some infants have a small blood sample collected by a heel-stick. This study will serve as a basis for a later study about how infant formulas affect infant growth.

Background: * AZD2171 is an experimental drug that may slow the growth of cancers by blocking angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels). * Cancer growth is dependent on angiogenesis for nutrition. * Inhibiting angiogenesis is a new approach to cancer therapy. Objectives: * To determine the side effects of AZD2171 in children and adolescents with cancer. * To determine the highest dose of AZD2171 that can safely be given to children and adolescents with cancer. * To study how the body handles AZD2171. * To determine the effects of AZD2171 on various factors related to angiogenesis. * To determine if AZD2171 can inhibit cancer growth in children and adolescents. Eligibility: -Children and adolescents 2-18 years of age with treatment-resistant solid tumor cancers or acute myelogenous leukemia. Design: * About 40 patients may be included in the study. * AZD2171 is given by mouth in treatment cycles of once a day for 28 days. Treatment may continue unless the cancer worsens or unacceptable side effects develop. * Patients have periodic physical examinations, blood and urine tests and imaging tests (CT, X-rays, MRI) to evaluate disease throughout the course of treatment. Additional blood tests are done to study how the body handles AZD2171, to look for proteins that stimulate angiogenesis, to determine if certain blood vessel cells are affected by AZD2171, and for other research purposes. * Biopsy tissue (when available) is examined for the receptor for new blood vessel formation.

The purpose of this study is to study the safety and tolerability of synthetic PreImplantation Factor (sPIF) in female patients with autoimmune hepatitis. Autoimmune hepatitis is a disease where the patient's immune system produces an inappropriate immune response against their own liver. PreImplantation Factor is a substance that is secreted by viable fetuses during pregnancy. PIF apparently initiates both maternal tolerance preventing the loss/rejection of the fetus. Synthetic PIF (sPIF) successfully translates PIF endogenous properties to pregnant and non-pregnant immune disorders. sPIF was found to be effective in preclinical models of autoimmunity and transplantation (published). Specifically sPIF protected the liver against immune attack. Toxicity studies (mice, dogs) have shown that high-dose sPIF administration for 2 weeks followed by 2 weeks observation period demonstrated a high safety profile. This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability and the blood level of this synthetic version of this natural compound in the circulation.

The purpose of this study is to provide nephrologists with additional clinical evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of Acthar in subjects with treatment-resistant idiopathic membranous nephropathy. Approximately sixty (60) subjects will be randomized in this double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled, multicenter study comparing Acthar and Placebo administered 2 times per week for a 24-week treatment period followed by a 24-week observation period. The primary objective of this study is to assess the proportion of treatment-resistant subjects (defined as subjects who either have had no response or have suffered a relapse after achieving a partial response to their most recent standard treatment regimen) who have a complete or partial remission of proteinuria in nephrotic syndrome due to idiopathic membranous nephropathy after 24 weeks of treatment.

Background: \- Research has shown that the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) gene is an important target for personalized lung cancer treatment. Individuals who have mutations in the EGFR gene have better responses when treated with certain personalized or targeted therapies compared with conventional chemotherapy. These mutations are more frequent in females with lung cancer who have never smoked, and different ethnic groups have different levels of frequency of the mutations. Researchers are interested in collecting more information on EGFR genetic mutations in Hispanics/Latinos with lung cancer, comparing the frequency of these mutations in males and females and smokers and nonsmokers. This study may lead to better, more personalized care approaches for all individuals with lung cancer. Objectives: \- To study the frequency of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor mutations in Hispanic/Latino individuals who have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer. Eligibility: \- Hispanic or Latino individuals who have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer and who have lung tissue from a previous biopsy or surgery available for research purposes. Design: * Participants will provide consent for researchers to examine lung tissue collected from a previous biopsy or surgery. * Treatment will not be provided as part of this protocol.

This is a two-arm, randomized Phase II study of intermittent chemotherapy with and without GM-CSF. All patients will receive six 21-day cycles of docetaxel 75 mg/m2 on Day 2 of each cycle and 5 mg prednisone twice a day on Days 1-21. Following six cycles of chemotherapy, eligible subjects will be randomized to no maintenance therapy or to maintenance GM-CSF therapy. The GM-CSF group dose schedule will be 250 mcg/m2 subcutaneous (SQ) daily Days 15-28 every 28 days. Patients in both groups will continue until disease progression at which time GM-CSF will be discontinued and chemotherapy will again be administered.
