NCT03670264
More than 90% of adult smokers initiate tobacco use before age 18, making prevention and treatment of adolescent smoking a critical health priority. Behavioral economic interventions utilizing financial incentives can promote smoking cessation in adult populations. No studies have evaluated financial incentives among adolescents to promote engagement in effective tobacco cessation programs through primary care settings. The goal of this study is to to compare, through a pilot, randomized controlled trial, an intervention incentivizing contact with a tobacco cessation program (the Quitline), an intervention incentivizing quitting, or no financial incentive intervention on adolescent smoker enrollment and depth of engagement in the tobacco cessation program.
NCT01516788
Photosensitivity is well documented among lupus patients and is one of the diagnostic criteria for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Photosensitivity is highly prevalent in lupus and has a wide range of clinical presentations. However, photosensitivity is a poorly defined in lupus and its pathogenesis is not well understood. The purpose of this study is to characterize the early clinical and histopathological changes in lupus skin that occur as a response to ultraviolet light.
NCT04958824
Background: In the last several years, commercial pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing for the selection of psychotropic medications has become widespread as a means of implementing "precision medicine", with some insurers electing to cover the cost of testing. Mostly these efforts have focused on the decision of choosing a medication. Polypharmacy has become widespread and often the norm in patients with more severe of chronic illness. Objectives: This project is designed to evaluate the utility of PGx testing in reducing polypharmacy among Veterans with mental illness. Methods: The project is a randomized clinical trial in which 500 Veterans will be randomly assigned to have the results of the PGx battery available to clinical staff right after randomization (i.e., the intervention group) or after 3 months of treatment as usual (i.e., the delayed results group). The study will test the following primary hypotheses: 1. Veterans with psychiatric illness and currently receiving an antidepressant and at least one additional psychotropic medication whose care is guided by the results of the PGx battery (the intervention group) will have a higher rate of reduction in polypharmacy than those in the delayed results group. 2. Veterans whose care is guided by the results of the PGx battery (the intervention group) will have a higher rate of improvement in depressive symptoms (PHQ-9 score) than the delayed results group.
NCT04030104
The Imagio® Pivotal Study is intended to evaluate if the results observed in the previous Feasibility Study can be confirmed for pre-specified effectiveness endpoints. Using Intention-to-Diagnose (ITD) masses from the PIONEER Pivotal study, 480 to 840 masses are to be used for the Pivotal Study, the remaining masses will be reserved for training the SenoGram® model.

This was a phase 2, double-blind (DB), placebo-controlled trial in participants with primary sclerosing cholangitis to evaluate the effect of obeticholic acid on liver biochemistry, in particular, serum alkaline phosphatase; and, safety. The long-term safety extension (LTSE) phase was conducted to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of long-term, open-label use of OCA in participants with PSC who had completed the DB phase of the study.
NCT04955262
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the utility of the new investigational imaging agent ⁸⁹Zr Df-IAB22M2C (CD8 PET/CT tracer) to monitor CD8 T-cell expansion and trafficking within tumors and associated tissues in patients with metastatic melanoma undergoing treatment with bempegaldesleukin and nivolumab as a single agent and in combination.
NCT00528437
The purpose of this study is to: Find out how safe and effective (by monitoring the good and/or bad effects) treatment with high dose temozolomide, thiotepa and carboplatin with stem cell rescue followed by 13-cis-retinoic acid has on children and adolescents with recurrent/refractory brain tumors Find out how the body uses 13-cis-retinoic acid by studying the your blood levels and proteins in the blood that break down the 13-cis-retinoic acid Determine how well 13-cis-retinoic acid penetrates into the spinal fluid.
NCT03478787
The main objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of risankizumab compared with secukinumab for the treatment of adult subjects with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy.
NCT01994109
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MYOBLOC in the treatment of Sialorrhea (drooling), which can be a symptom of many disease conditions. MYOBLOC will be injected directly into the salivary glands. MYOBLOC has been shown in previous trials to safely decrease saliva production, thereby demonstrating its potential as a safe and effective treatment for troublesome sialorrhea.
NCT00689273
To evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetics in patients with osteoarthritic pain of the knee. The most painful knee joint will be identified as the index joint at screening, and this joint will be used for all pain assessments throughout the study.
