NCT00311311
The purpose of this study is to determine whether immunosuppression by tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil, and prednisone compared to conversion to sirolimus, mycophenolate mofetil, and prednisone affect the progression of atherosclerosis in renal transplant recipients.
NCT00363090
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as alemtuzumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from growing. Giving alemtuzumab together with combination chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of alemtuzumab when given together with combination chemotherapy and to see how well they work in treating patients with newly diagnosed aggressive stage II, stage III, or stage IV T-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT01366040
This is an open-label, multicenter, survey-based study to determine subject satisfaction with using the single-use autoinjector for the delivery of AVONEX PS. Enrollment will consist of 200 subjects in a single cohort who have been prescribed AVONEX PEN in accord with its Product Monograph. All subjects must be experienced AVONEX PS users (i.e., using it for at least 12 weeks without any support person to help with the injections administered in the vastus lateralis) and enrolled in MS AllianceTM program (hereinafter, MS Alliance). The clinic nurse investigator will instruct the patient on the correct method of using AVONEX PEN and the first injection with Autoinjector, using the subject's own supply, will be completed in the clinic, with the clinic nurse investigator present. All further injections of AVONEX PEN will be self-administered at home. The subjects will complete the first set of questionnaires, including Subject Satisfaction Questionnaire, Ease of Use Grading Scale and the Autoinjector Instructions Grading Scale, within 10 minutes after the first injection at the clinic, and will be given another set of questionnaires to be completed at home within 10 minutes following the last study injection 2 months later, provided the subjects still continue to self-administer their AVONEX PEN. The first set of questionnaires will be left with the clinic nurse investigator to be sent to the CRO by fax or e-mail, while the second set will need to be mailed to the CRO by study subjects using the provided self-addressed, postage-paid envelope.
NCT00282568
A study to assess the pharmacokinetics, safety and effectiveness of tacrolimus in stable kidney transplant patients converted from a Prograf® based immunosuppression regimen to a modified release tacrolimus based immunosuppression regimen.
NCT01210716
This study will evaluate the use of the AMICUS device in patients where Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) is prescribed by their physicians.
NCT01071083
This is a randomized, rater blinded trial in patients who interrupt treatment with natalizumab with or without being treated with other immunomodulatory drugs, or continue treatment with natalizumab. The main purpose of this study is to find out the following, when participants stop taking natalizumab for 24 weeks: * when MS symptoms return, and * if other drugs for MS may help control MS symptoms during the natalizumab-interruption period. This study will also explore how quickly the effects of natalizumab return after resuming natalizumab dosing.
NCT01290341
This is a 6-week, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter, parallel group Phase 3 study of NAFT-600 applied once a day for 2 weeks compared to vehicle (placebo) in the treatment of tinea pedis.
NCT01163721
This study enrolled participants with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) despite non-insulin antidiabetic therapy in addition to diet and exercise, and would have benefited from additional control of blood glucose levels. The study assessed the metabolic effects of ranolazine, including its effect in lowering glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), and lowering glucose while fasting, and following a meal (postprandial). Participants were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive ranolazine or placebo, and were stratified by HbA1c ≤ 7.5% or \> 7.5%. Enrollment was to include no more than two-thirds of participants with baseline HbA1c ≤ 7.5%. Other than glucose values, efficacy endpoint results remained blinded during the study; for safety purposes, the investigator was to be alerted of severe hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. Participants were instructed to maintain logs of their physical activity/exercise (Subject Activity Assessment) and study drug dosing (Dosing Log).
NCT00956436
This is a phase 1b, open-Label study of sorafenib with BIIB022 in subjects with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.
NCT00005922
This study uses the psychological principle known as classical conditioning to try to improve the standard treatment of psoriasis. Classical conditioning is a process of behavioral modification in which a person learns to connect a certain response-in this case, improvement of psoriasis-with a new action, or stimulus-in this case, application of an inactive cream. The goal of this study is to show that people with psoriasis who are maintained on corticosteroid cream part of the time and an inactive (placebo) cream at other times show a lower incidence of relapse and a reduced severity of psoriasis that patients treated with that same (reduced) amount of medication administered all the time.
NCT00169312
RATIONALE: Websites for nutrition education may be an effective method to help people eat more fruits and vegetables which may lower their risk of cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized trial is studying how well an internet-based nutrition education program works in preventing cancer in participants of health maintenance organizations.
NCT00005589
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more cancer cells. Monoclonal antibodies such as rituximab can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. It is not yet known if combination chemotherapy plus peripheral stem cell transplantation is more effective with or without rituximab for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying giving combination chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplantation together with rituximab to see how well it works compared to combination chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplantation alone in treating patients with relapsed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT00896051
The purpose of this study is to determine the pharmacokinetics (how the body absorbs, distributes, metabolizes and eliminates a drug) (PK) of ETR when given with ATV/rtv and 1 NRTI in treatment experienced HIV-1 infected patients. In addition, safety, tolerability and anti-HIV effect of this regimen will also be studied. A total of 46 patients will be enrolled.
NCT00361634
The purpose of this study is to assess whether DCE-MRI can detect changes of active disease in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients after 4, 8 and 12 weeks of etanercept.
