NCT00811954
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) guidelines recommend that HIV infected patients who have never received anti-HIV therapy be treated with a triple drug regimen. The most commonly prescribed and successful regimen contains the medication efavirenz (EFV). However, this regimen may not be an option for everyone, hence alternative regimens are needed. This study was designed to look at how well different combinations of anti-HIV drugs work to decrease the amount of HIV in the blood (viral load) of and allow immune system recovery in people who have never received anti-HIV therapy. This study also examined drug tolerability and safety for the various drug combinations.
NCT00993148
The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel combination antiretroviral therapy regimen consisting of maraviroc plus darunavir/ritonavir in treatment-naive patients infected with R5-tropic HIV-1. The hypothesis is that in treatment-naive subjects infected with R5-tropic HIV-1, combination antiretroviral therapy with maraviroc plus darunavir/ritonavir is well tolerated and efficacious.
NCT00041938
The purpose of this study is to determine which of two treatments, Warfarin or aspirin, is better for preventing death and stroke in patients with poor heart function. We are now transitioning into the sub-analysis part of the WARCEF patient data. The study has recently completed data analysis for its Primary Aim. All randomized patients have completed their follow up. All study related procedure as per the protocol has been completed. We are now in the extension phase of the study to obtain more patient data to address further aims of the study. No new procedures are performed and data already in place at the sites will be collected (EKG and echocardiograms). The aims for this study extension are: * To assess progression of cardiac dysfunction over time among heart failure patients * To correlate prognosis with cardiac dysfunction
NCT00264537
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of golimumab, alone or in combination with methotrexate, as compared to methotrexate alone in rheumatoid arthritis subjects who have not been previously treated with methotrexate.
NCT00741273
This study will evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics of two doses of orally administered Proellex® in female patients with impaired hepatic function and healthy volunteers with normal hepatic function.
NCT00099983
The purpose of this research of 400 participants is to determine whether a drug called risperidone can decrease symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is a placebo-controlled study, meaning that half of the participants will be assigned to receive a pill that contains no drug. The treatment phase of the study will last for 6 months, during which time participants will continue to receive all their usual treatments in addition to the study treatment and will be asked to complete procedures and assessments (questionnaires, interviews, laboratory tests, physical exams, etc.) related to their PTSD symptoms at various points within the 6-month treatment phase. At the end of the 6-month study, participants will discontinue the study treatment.
NCT00309400
We are doing this study to learn more about the early history of universal screening for metabolic disorders such as PKU and galactosemia. In particular, we are interested in learning from our past experience to inform our current plans to expand universal newborn screening. Following standard historical research methodology, we will begin with a review of the historical scholarship on PKU and galactosemia, including more general works on mental retardation, genetics, public health screening, and metabolic disorders. We will also obtain scientific publications and archival sources on the early screening and treatment of these disorders. Lastly, we will conduct oral history interviews with key participants in teh early screening and treatment of PKU and galactosemia.
NCT00301366
The purpose of this clinical study is to assess the safety and tolerability of Alpha-1 MP in adult Alpha1-antitrypsin deficient patients.
NCT01523366
The purpose of this study is to assess the pharmacodynamic effect of ticagrelor in Hispanic patients with stable coronary artery disease.
NCT01127321
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of MEDI-570 in adult subjects with moderately to severely active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
NCT02120547
To determine whether CVC exposures are altered in subjects with impaired hepatic function, compared to subjects with normal hepatic function. The results will help guide the clinical use of CVC in patients with hepatic impairment, determine the extent of PK changes, if any, and identify the potential need for dose adjustments of CVC in this population.
NCT01193127
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the use of OMS302 (the study drug) in individuals undergoing Cataract Extraction with Lens Replacement (CELR) surgery is safe and effective at maintaining an adequately dilated pupil during surgery and reducing post-operative symptoms of discomfort (such as eye pain and irritation).
NCT00419393
To provide continued treatment of Keppra XR (Levetiracetam XR) and to assess the long term safety of Keppra XR in subjects with partial onset seizures.
NCT00419094
The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of two doses of Keppra XR compared with a historical control as the placebo, in the monotherapy treatment of partial onset seizures.
NCT01058005
This was a multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel-group, active-controlled study. Prior to randomization, participants were to have been treated with glatiramer acetate or interferon β-1a (44 μg). Participants were to be randomized to receive natalizumab, interferon β-1a 44 μg, or glatiramer acetate.
NCT00576758
This study will investigate the efficacy of weekly intravenous obinutuzumab \[GA101 (RO5072759)\] monotherapy, in patients with relapsed CD20+ indolent Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Patients will be randomized to receive either GA101 or rituximab, given as four weekly infusions. At the conclusion of the initial trial patients may be eligible to continue therapy up to 24 months. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3- 24 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT00502242
The primary objective of the study is to determine the efficacy of ramipril in preventing a urinary protein to creatinine ratio (U p/c) greater than 0.5 following conversion to sirolimus from a calcineurin inhibitor (CNI) in maintenance kidney transplant patients.
NCT00666328
The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy and safety of clevidipine for treating acute hypertension (high blood pressure, defined as systolic blood pressure \>160 mmHg) in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (i.e., bleeding in the brain; stroke).
NCT00060944
The purpose of this study is to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational chemotherapy agent in patients with types of advanced cancer referred to as liposarcoma or leiomyosarcoma.
NCT00237185
In the core study, participants with unresectable or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumors expressing c-kit were treated with either 400 mg or 600 mg imatinib mesylate for 3 years. The 10 year extension study allowed participants, who successfully completed the core study, to continue study treatment with imatinib mesylate provided they still benefited from treatment and did not demonstrate safety concerns as per the investigator's opinion.
