NCT01441115
Background: \- ECI301 is a drug that may help make cancer cells more visible to the immune system after radiation. The drug may also help the immune system destroy the cancer at sites that have not received radiation therapy. Researchers want to study ECI301 in people with advanced cancer or cancer that has spread in the body (metastatic). Objectives: \- To test ECI301 with radiation therapy for advanced or metastatic cancer. Eligibility: \- People at least 18 years of age with either metastatic or advanced cancer that may benefit from radiation therapy. Design: * Participants will be screened with a medical history and physical exam. They will also have blood and urine tests, and imaging studies. * All participants will have radiation therapy 5 days a week for 2 weeks. * They will have different doses of ECI301 to test its safety and effectiveness. ECI301 will be given in a vein during the second week of radiation therapy. Frequent blood tests and imaging studies will monitor the treatment. * After participants have ECI301, tumor samples may be taken from the site that had radiation and another site that did not have radiation. * Follow-up visits will include blood tests and imaging studies.
NCT00985205
The purpose of this study is to test the following hypotheses: 1. Enteral glutamine administration decreases in-hospital mortality in adult patients with severe thermal burn injuries. 2. Enteral glutamine administration decreases hospital-acquired blood stream infections from Gram negative organisms and length of stay in ICU and hospital for adult patients with severe thermal burn injuries. 3. Enteral glutamine administration will improve the physical function of surviving burn injured patients and reduce their cost of care. The objectives of this trial are to determine the overall treatment effect and safety of glutamine in burn patients. Specifically, the investigators want to assess the following outcomes in a sample of 1200 patients in 80 sites: 1. In patients with severe, life-threatening burn injury, what is the effect of enteral glutamine on time to discharge alive from hospital 2. In patients with severe, life-threatening burn injury, what is the effect of enteral glutamine on 6 month mortality, hospital-acquired blood stream infections from Gram negative organisms, hospital mortality, duration of stay in ICU and hospital, health-related quality of life, and health care resources?
NCT03436199

NCT04642183
this is a single In-Clinic Encounter With the Notal Vision Home OCT study. The study population will include up to 50 Age-related Macular Degeneration patients diagnosed with wet NV-AMD in at least one eye at the time of enrollment. All enrolled subjects should have at least one eye with active (wet) CNV (SRF and/or IRF) at the time of enrollment. All subjects will be enrolled at 1 site in the United States. in this study patients will be placed in a room with the Notal Vision Home OCT device and following a completion of a self tutorial will perform 3 unsupervised self-scans on each study eye (with a rest of \~5 minutes between self-scans). at the end of the testing sessions, the subject will be asked to complete subject user questionnaire.
NCT00372073
A phase 2 study to evaluate efficacy of oral seliciclib in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
NCT01878500
The aim of this study is to investigate the use of intraoperative stereotactic imaging of the pelvic floor musculature during closure of bladder exstrophy.
NCT00038727
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) was a multi-center trial examining the ability of an intensive lifestyle or metformin to prevent or delay the development of diabetes in a high risk population due to the presence of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT, 2 hour glucose of 140-199 mg/dl). The DPP has ended early demonstrating that lifestyle reduced diabetes onset by 58% and metformin reduced diabetes onset by 31%. DPPOS (2002-2013) is designed to take advantage of the scientifically and clinically valuable DPP participants. This group of participants is nearly 50% minority and represents the largest at risk population ever studied. Clinically important research questions remain that focus on 1) durability of the prior DPP intervention, 2) determination of the clinical course of precisely known new onset diabetes, in particular regarding microvascular disease, CVD risk factors and atherosclerosis, 3) close examination of these topics in men vs women and in minority populations. The major aims of DPPOS-3 (2014-2025) take advantage of the long-term randomized exposure of the study cohort to metformin and the aging of the DPPOS cohort. The metformin exposure and high degree of study retention and adherence (\~85% of the DPPOS cohort continues to attend annual and mid-year visits) allows DPPOS-3 to examine the long-term effects of metformin on cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer outcomes, outcomes of great clinical interest and import.
NCT03857542
This clinical study will evaluate pilocarpine hydrogen chloride (HCl) ophthalmic solution (AGN-190584) in an expanded participant population to establish efficacy, safety, and tolerability versus the vehicle-control when administered, over a 30-day study intervention period, once daily bilaterally in participants with presbyopia.
NCT01925794
This is a prospective, multi-center, non-randomized, single arm clinical trial that will be conducted at up to 40 sites in the United States and Outside United States (OUS). This study will enroll patients with symptomatic ischemic heart disease due to a single de novo lesion contained within a native coronary artery with reference vessel diameter between 2.5 mm and 4.0 mm and lesion length ≤ 24 mm that is amenable to percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and stent deployment. All patients will be followed at 30 days, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year and annually for 5 years post index stenting procedure.
NCT01595061
This phase II trial studies how well radiation therapy works when given with gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin work in treating patients with squamous cell cancer of the vulva that has spread from where it started to nearby tissue or lymph nodes. Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving radiation therapy together with gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin may kill more tumor cells.
NCT04476329
This is a randomized, two arm, phase II study of 1st Cycle dose optimization for regorafenib treatment compared to standard dose of regorafenib treatment in HCC patients for whom the physician is intending to treat with regorafenib and who failed any 1st line systemic treatment.
NCT03819114

NCT04656522
In humanitarian settings, sexual and gender-based violence disproportionately impacts women and children. However, there continues to be a lack of evidence regarding both sexual violence prevention and post-rape care interventions in low- and middle-income humanitarian contexts, with even less evidence supporting adolescents and youth in these settings. Participatory comics offer a youth-friendly, low-cost, scalable approach for preventing sexual violence and training clinicians in post-rape care in humanitarian settings. This study aims to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of a comic intervention on preventing sexual violence and improving post-rape care with youth aged 16-24 and health care providers in the Bidi Bidi refugee settlement.
